I''ve been dubbed a diamond afficionado due to my obsession with this website! A fellow "knottie" from theknot.com noticed that I kinda know diamonds, and asked me what she and her boyfriend could get for about $3000. She was thinking of buying a .62 for around 3000. It was E, SI1, ideal - I felt that was high. (No other specs) She wants to buy from an online vendor, and I am asking on here for her.

Any suggestions?

The stone sounds 2k-ish. If the other 1000 is for a nice setting, than the "Pricescope replacement value" is not that much out of line

There are a dozen or so stones on the HCA search alone (I looked for E/F, VS2/SI1, 0.6-0.7cts, VG-Ex HCA.).

It is somewhat painful to cite pieces from Wink and GOG (no links) - but those below seem worth the trouble

For 3K, you can easily get a very nicely cut E VS1:

0.63ct E VS1 from GOG

The above is one of my favourites.
