I originally posted a page from costco.. decided i liked these from james Allen better (and due to costco service stinking).

I have had all 3 stones held and am awaiting aset images and gemologist comparison opinion.

First choice - is 1.21 E VVS2 and it was an 8 thin main (I believe from looking at the GIA plot). Table and depth seemed good at 60%/66.6%. L/W ratio also a 1.00 (6.44mm x 6.41mm4.27mm)

other stones are: 1.11 D VVS1. Table and depth 61/69.2% - seemed to deep? L/W Ratio also more rectangular at 1.12 but it had a variation of a chunky 8 main plot ( I learned a lot from this site on plots, thank you!)

lastly, 1.01 F VVS2 Table/depth 55/65.1 L/W Ratio 1.02. Had a variation again on similar 8 main plot.

I will upload all the GIA certificates.

Thank you so much for responding! I actually was just watching a video from Jonathan gog that showed an asset of a stone that looked just like the 1.11 I posted as a second option... Said was too much head and body reflection, had that same darkness right across middle. So that d colored one is out. Any thoughts on other two?

I am unsure as to how to edit/remove attachment. I am disregarding the 1.11D stone as it does have a bowtie effect issue (thanks Chrono for responding). I have another option, James Allen just contacted me with this "OLD MINE BRILLIANT" It is 1.17 E VVS1 Table/Depth - 52/69.5 L/W Ration seems more elongated? at a 1.10.
I will attach the GIA. Is this the correct section to post so that I will get more replies/opinions from people more knowledgeable than myself?? Thank You for looking and commenting, its A LOT of money to spend and I welcome opinions/thoughts of any kind.

I dont really care for any of the first three.
- first one looks dark under the table head on
- dark streak running through second
- not that lovely of a faceting pattern.

I do like the last one but not sure if that's the style of stone you are looking for.

it does seem to have tons of sparkle and brilliance in the live video, I guess I'm a liitle unsure as to a large culet and the ratio being a 1.10.. will this still look squarish or super rectangular(ish)? James allen rep is very nice, he is trying to find me a photo of the different ratios on a finger ie: the 1.21E ratio of 1.00 as compared to how this 1.17 ratio 1.10 will look on the finger and in a likely halo setting.. I have to make a decision after reviewing the asets probably next week by friday. Its a tough call!! ;(

it is growing on me fast, the facets really flash and it does seem more lively too (if that makes sense). thank you for your responses. :appl:

I also strongly favor the antique style cushion. It has a similar facet pattern to AVC's. I would just ask if you are really set on D-E color, though, because this stone is pretty small.It is definitely going to appear more rectangular when set. Is that what you want?

I have the last and final option from james allen..so asets will be of the 1.21 E VVS2 (the first posted) sku 288829
the second is the 1.17 old main, and the third one they just sent is of a 1.09 D VVS1 with L/W ratio of 1.03 I will upload attachment. so these are the three being decided on.

can anyone post a photo showing the different types of looks with the ratios ive listed?

diamondseeker, I was thinking more squarish and for the stone to at least be around 1/4inch from side to side viewed on the finger, I was looking at a G in color but was thrown off when a rep told me there was a spectrum of G's, that it could be a high or low G... I'd like to go up in stone size of course, but budget, with a setting included has to be 14 - 15k, no more and thats A LOT of money!! (well worth it i'm sure)

That is strange that they would say that about "G" color diamonds. While there is a spectrum that could be high or low with any color grade, even with a fancy shape "G" color grade, you will have a nice white diamond.

I really wish Charmypoo were on here!! I LOVE her 8 thin main cushion she has and this is why my first choice was the 1.21 E VVS2 that has an 8 thin main... I do really like the 1.17 old mine brilliant however, i am concerned about the ratio and how small?not square itll look

Asets arriving tues or wed this upcoming week. I can see there is a bit of darkness under the table on the 8 main however I think it's minimal (not at 40x magnification) and hope there's still a ton of sparkle.. Will post Asets as soon as I receive. Chosen setting is James Allen sku 17356p.. What do you think of setting? Thanks for replying

length to width ratio is a 1.02. Does FAINT fluorescence have an effect on such a high color grade like E??

Unless you value the purity factor of colourless and VCs clarity, which is fine, consider G/H and VS2 max to get more size, you are really paying a lot for specs that don't inherently matter. They may matter to you for personal reasons but that is not the impression I get from your posts.

That's thoughtful of you to post more blop, however, I am looking for a stone with an 8 Main faceting structure I just love them!! An avc cacet structure is a second choice.. :)

Sorry, meant mrs. Blop.. Am 75% in thinking going with the one I found at ritani. The 1.33 8 main I posted above..or the 1.21 e vvs2 from James Allen.. They're both on hold but I put ritani stone on card for I store preview..
