3.61cts Spessartite Garnet from Precision Gem

I got the newly listed 3.61cts (8mm) Spessartite Garnet from Precision Gem last Thursday. It is truly a beautiful stone. Here is the vendor's picture first:

The stone does have eye visible inclusion of the "sugar" type (as Gene described in his description), but the color and brilliance are really wonderful and the inclusion does not bother me at all. Unfortunately, it has been raining and the sun refuses to come out from the clouds for the past few days. So the photos I took indoor with my little canon powershot really do not do it justice.

The above photos do not show the brilliance of the stone. Here are a few hand shots that may help a little. But my indoor lighting adds too much yellow to it. I could not see yellow in it irl.

Yes, even in the pics it looks pretty glowy - good going, nice stone

Yes. It glows wonderfully. And the cut is really wonderful too. It is a round stone with a relatively high dome and it is relatively deep, a little bit like the shape of a acorn. If you flip it down, you won't see the typical "window" in most round stones.

I really really like this stone, but somehow I don't think the orange color works out with my skin tone (I am Asian). I want to wear my stones, so I've debated for 4~5 days and finally decided to part with this beauty. It will be on its way back to Gene tomorrow, but I really want you girls/guys know that this beautiful stone is once again available. Don't hesitate if you are looking for an orange stone.

Atwater - Shame you are returning such a beautiful stone... I'm sure it will be snapped up by someone else very quickly though..

Lovinggems - are you the one who got the 3.22ct Spess? It's gorgeous! But where are the pics??

Sorry to hear that it doesn't go well with your skin tone - the colour looks great and the scattering of inclusions will help diffuse the colour evenly, creating that glowy colour. Loliondos are now getting more difficult to procure, especially in larger sizes and relatively eye clean.
