For any jewelers or diamond collectors out there, rough estimate, how much would you think a certified 24 Carat Emerald Cut Diamond, VS in clarity, G in color would sell for, please do not respond with a guess, question is directed towards someone with proper knowledge of large stones. Thanks so much

awww, but i had a good guess!

(hope you find the answer to your question)

if its an educated guess please do respond :) I''m guessing myself around $17,000-20,000 a carat?

If you look at jewelry auction prices and net offers (link) you may end up with a slightly more optimistic quote

A 24 carat stone, and you want an opinion on here without someone examining it?

This is obviously a very costly stone.. ANYONE who renders you an opinion without seeing it, is not a person who has knowledge about it.

Being in Boca, an upscale community, I get calls all the time from people who are spending mucho $$ for a diamond yet want an appraisal for free or $ 25.00

Few people are really familiar with this market, as there aren''t that many stone of this size and quality in the marketplace. A good professional will insist on seeing the diamond before any comment is made about it.

Prices realized at auction can be very misleading because you don''t know WHO the buyer was. Was it purchased by an end user or by a dealer?

Stones of this nature are generally bought at auction by dealers or in some cases by collectors. You have to know which when you do the research.

It is from a Jewelry Manufacturer I do some business with. I am awaiting copy of certificate, just curious about ballpark figure of what something like this would sell for at store price assuming it is certified as VS2 or VS1, G by a reputable appraisal company as price on my end seemed very low

13,000 TO 15,700 PER CARAT IF IT HAS GIA

Likely more than that.

If it does not have a regular accepted cert then run fast.

I agree with Gary

Stones that large usually have MAJOR LAB CERTS...If your seller doesn''t produce one.... Get on your running sneakers.

Stones like this are so uncommon that the "world is your oyster" price wise, but only if the grading is by a major lab....
