Maybe employers should go back to having only fulltime regular employees with benefits, and if contracted employees are on site, they need to be with a guard or escort at all times.

Because if they are full-time employees they're better, and won't do that.
Everyone knows that contractors are all sub-par employees who run amok the minute no one is looking...

My husband just landed at O'Hare on an international flight. He called from the plane. Nothing was mentioned on the plane about what was happening at O'Hare. I'm kind of surprised they let the plane land at O'Hare.

This is right near my house. I have friends and patients who work here. Word is man tried to commit suicide by fire and burn the building down with him. Btw, the man survived.

April Baby, Do you know where this is located. I always thought the air traffic controllers were located in Sugar Grove at the Aurora Airport.

I believe they are less likely to do that, yes. Not all contractors are bad. But the situation of having so many contractors and temps nowadays (don't forget that we are at war) poses greater security risks vs. having longterm, fulltime permanent employees, imo. There are also rules about how employers must treat contractors differently and exclude them from certain things so that they (contractors) can't argue that they are equal to fulltime permanent employees. Some contract employees might grow to resent being treated as less.

As is usual with things that include "I believe", and "IMO" and include very little except someone's musings on supposed vast differences between one artificially designated group and another, I guarantee you're going to find very little to back your position up. Workplace violence is a problem everywhere, and in a federal scenario, you will fail if you try to pin it on mostly contractors. More than half of federal workplace violence is at the hands of former or current federal employees, which is even more entertaining, given that the proportion of federal employees to contractor is not even close to 50/50 anymore.

The news stated the police were at his apartment all day yesterday. I don't think anyone has to worry about him ever going back there again. I think he will probably spend many, many years in prison!
