Not quite ready to buy yet but I have a question.

I found a bunch of stones that I like and are in a good price range from Brian Gavin but one of the settings I like is from Whiteflash. Would it be possible to do this combination, I wasn''t sure how things might work since Brian used to be with Whiteflash. How would I go about doing this if this is the direction I want to take?

Thanks for your responses.

Of course the best way to simply call and ask. But I think they are in the same building. Generally, business is business. They compete but everyone understands nobody can carry everything for every customer. Many times before I have seen rocks and rings from different Pricescope vendors. Putting personal feelings aside is a sure sign of being professional. It generally creates more business for both to work together. This is one of many reasons I like this Pricescope forum. Please call though as I am no expert.

Brian Gavin will not re-make a setting he made at Whiteflash. I also don''t know if Whiteflash sells settings without the stone.

Whiteflash will set a stone that was not purchased from them in one of their settings. They charge a setting fee to do so. You just send the BGD stone to WF (or have BGD,or an appraiser if you're having the diamond appraised first, send the stone to WF). Give WF a call and they will explain how it works. You may also want to purchase a policy from Jeweler's Mutual (inexpensive) to cover your loose diamond while it is being set. If BGD sets a diamond you bought from them, then their insurance covers the stone during the setting process. But if someone else sets it, you need to make sure your stone is insured. It's not a big deal to buy a diamond from one company and have another company set it, but there are additional costs and steps to do so.

BGD is still making the scattered band design, though, right?

I really like the white flash sleek line pave. I''m not sure if BGD''s 4 prong micro pave is the same or not.
