2 carat round with 5 pointer melee on the band (2.5 mm thick)? Will it look proportional??

Hello everyone!

I'm hoping those with similar styles will hop on here and drop their pics I really want a blingy engagement ring but want to make sure the band doesn't overpower my diamond!

I really like the luxe anthology from BE, for example.

The style looks nice (especially with my long fingers) but have heard some people say .05 is too big and i should go down to .03. What does everyone think?

The trend right now is for small side stones and narrow bands but get what YOU like. Trends go in and out. I love the ring you picked, but I am older.

I think it would look nice. I had a 1.65 with 7.5 points and I think that was disproportionate. I suspect 5 point stones would be about 2.2mm and that's a nice look for a 2 carat stone. I have a 2 carat with 3 pointers... It's my preference (2mm) but it doesn't have to be yours! Go with what you like.

On another note, thinking I haven't seen good reviews about brilliant earth on here... As in... People actively NOT recommending them...

The diamond we picked out is a round 2.15 (8.3 mm) and we're looking at a 2.5 mm band!

I think we were thinking to have a 2.5mm band french pave with 5 point stones [with my 2.15 carat round] Have you seen these proportions before? If so, do you think they look proportional? I think I care more about the entire ring looking dazzling, but also don't wan't the center to be completely drowned out.

I think it will look great! But it depends on what you prefer. I prefer wider bands rather than narrower ones, and thus larger diamonds on them. A lot of people like skinnier bands. But I like to really feel like I'm wearing a piece of jewelry, not a string with a gem stuck on it. lol.

I prefer smaller diamonds on the band, but your stone is large enough that the band isn’t going to swallow the center diamond. I wouldn’t get a setting from BE. Loose stones, I definitely recommend them but for settings I’ve heard not great things. You can get higher quality settings for less than what BE charges.
