It’s here, and it’s gorgeous!!!
After almost two years of debating styles, buying (and selling) moissanite solitaires, and buying (and returning) antique solitaires and cluster rings, I finally came to the realization that—as much as I adore the look of a big, honkin’ diamond—I am personally uncomfortable wearing them. (Maybe I’ll grow into my Elizabeth Taylor confidence, but I’m not there yet .)
I began thinking of wearing a 5-stone in lieu of an ER and wedding ring, and the look really clicked for me: it’s simple, clean, and not something I see around town much.
I worked with Shulamit at ID Jewelry, who is an absolute doll: she was quick to respond to emails (even when we’re on opposite sides of the country!) and gave me excellent advice on a few design choices. My ring size is 4.75, and I was really concerned about the outside diamonds poking my adjacent fingers, so I tried on a few shipped samples. 2 ctw it was!
So, the stats:
Ring size 4.75
14k white gold
U-prong setting, tapered in at the outside diamonds
2.07 ctw
Diamond specs:
0.43 H VVS1, IGI XXX, HCA 1.4
0.42 H VVS1, IGI XXX, HCA 1.3
0.42 G VS2, IGI XXX, HCA 1.1
0.40 H VS1, IGI XXX, HCA 1.2
0.40 G VS2, IGI XXX, HCA 1.3
I had limited daylight time tonight, so I’ll have to post more pictures later because none of the pictures I’ve taken do justice to the incredible fire of these stones or their gorgeous arrows! (And please ignore the dry skin; winter weather saps my hands!)
