I am considering a 1.50 - 1.80 ct. marquise or pear shape diamond to bezel set in a gold bangle. I understand that fancy colors tend to show more color than round brilliants. I have found a 1.50 L - SI2, marquise cut, no fluorescence. If I bezel set this in yellow gold will it look like an off color, or do you all think it will appear reasonably white. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

An L is most likely going to have a cream tone to it, especially in yellow gold. Would still be very pretty, just don't expect it to be "white" or look like clear glass.

Hi all!
ajoh3142- this is the type of stone that can have a HUGE variance in appearance from one to the next.
GIA grades the color from the back, so there can be a big difference in the face up from one L to the next.
