I am shopping for a diamond that is approximately a carat, F/G/H in color, not sure about clarity. I have found the following diamond as a starting point, but I would like some help or re-assurance that I have not found a terrible starting point with this diamond. I will be able to view the diamond Tuesday, but until then re-assurance from a technical "numbers" standpoint would be appreciated.
My budget for the diamond is $5k. I have found the following: .94 RB SI1, G, for $4.6k.

The sales guys always try to steer me away from AGS certified stuff, into IGI, saying there is no such thing as an ideal cut, etc... I want a quality stone, but a balance due to the tight budget.

Thanks for your help!

The numbers look fine. AGSL gave it their highest grade. Stick to your guns and ignore the salesman.

numbers are very nice.

IGI is very well respected in some parts of the world... the USA is not one of them, speaking comparatively.
