14kt jumbo friction back on 18kt earring post?

I'm not sure if this is a silly question or not. Is it ok to use a 14kt gold friction back on a stud earring with an 18kt gold post? Could the 14kt back possibly damage the 18kt gold post? Both the friction back and the earring are in white gold, if that makes any difference. I'm asking because I recently ordered jumbo backs for my studs, and I didn't realize until just now that they're 14kt.

I have worn 18K jumbo backs on a pair of platinum stud 1/2 dome stud earring post(not diamonds) for years with no problem.

In all honesty, I've mixed up backing a that came with costume and fine jewelry and I usually just grab randomly Backings for my earrings in the scheme of jewelry repairs, if you ever did damage your posts, that should be an easy and inexpensive repair.

Thank you. I guess I won't bother reordering them in 18kt gold and just enjoy the ones I've got. I've fallen back in love with my studs now that they are sitting so perkily on my ears!
