Hello all,
I know this has been discussed on here before, but mainly it has only been discussed with mixing a platinum e-ring and a white gold wedding band (or vice versa). My fiancee has a beautiful 18k white gold engagement ring. We have worked with our jeweler on finding a complimentary wedding band and found a perfect band that has .75 ct worth of beautiful channel set diamonds in a perfect setting. The only problem is the setting is in 14k white gold. We matched the two up and there are no color differences. My question is, is the 14k really going to "eat away'' at her 18k e-ring like some say? She has her heart set on this ring, but the maker of the ring does not do it in 18k and we have yet to find an 18k channel set band that we like as much or that matches up as perfectly with her e-ring. Short-term and long-term, should we really be concerned about having 14k white gold up against 18k white gold? Will the color differences eventually become more apparent?
