Hi All,

This is my first post, I''ve been reading alot to learn as much as I can and I wanted to get some of your thoughts on this diamond listed below. I would like to spend less then $4000 and cut, clarity and then color seem to be the order of importance to me.

I''m just trying to get the most for my money, I would love to get a 1ct diamond but I dont think It would be of decent quality at this price. Plus my girl has really small hands so I''m hoping this looks decent on her.

Any opinions would be greatly apperciated, its a little nerve racking buying online.

Andres

This stone is leaking light if you look at the idealscope image. Also, the HCA is not rating it under 2. The angles are not in the range
that we usually look for. I''m surprised because the cherry picked ones are usually pretty nice. You might hold off until someone else
comments. If it were me, I would probably pass on this one.

Thanks tyty333 the other diamond is nicer, I can see the difference when I put up both Idelscopes next to each other. One thing I''m confused about is that you stated that the angles were not in the range you typically look for, can you clarify that a little? I thought this was supposed to be one of those H&A stones and thought that was the ideal range.

Regards,

Andres

The Whiteflash ACA (A Cut Above) stones are their H&A stones. Is that important to you? However, the numbers I was talking about
are the depth, table, crown and pavilion angles. Here is a set of ranges that we usually look for...

depth - 60-62%
table - 54-57%
crown - 34-35 degrees
pavilion - 40.6-41 degrees

I was surprise that that Expert Selection stone looked to be leaking light. They are usually nicer stones.

You can use the HCA to give you an initial inspection. Stones that score 2 or under are worth further investigation. 1.1 is not better
than 1.9 (just look for 2 or under).

This one is scoring 2.4 on the HCA. The crown angle is high (35.9). You have to request an idealscope image from JA when you
find a stone you are intereted in (they dont automatically take them). If it were me, I''d pass on this one also.
