Hi,
Just some opinions please. Would it be reasonable to pay $1100.00 more for an E colored diamond versus a G colored diamond with the same stats? How much of a visible difference will there be between the two. I don''t want to drop the $1100.00 unless there is a visible difference in the color upgrade of E. Thanks!

dEPENDS WHAT SIZE DIA. BUT YES IT MAKES SENCE MOST OF THE TIME

Q 1. since you asked for opinions, my opin is that it''s not worth it unless you are bothered by the *color* of a mounted G.

Q 2. i put **s around color because most people wont be able to see the dif btwn an E & a G when they''re mounted.

but it''s what floats your boat - if you''ve seen well-cut mounted Es & Gs and can tell the difference even when they''re not next to each other & you really like the iciness of the E & you have the $$ for it, only then should ya spring for the E, IMHO. honestly, i can''t imagine that you''ll be put off by a well-cut G.

i, personally, wouldnt trade either of my Js for Es... but i realize i''m different from most

It really depends on whether $1100 is couch change or real money to you.

Couch change: buy the E so you will know you bought the better paper spec.

Real Money: Buy the G and spend the $1100 on something you will notice or remember: better setting; upgrade your honeymoon flights; etc.

I just purchased an E...I have to say that I freakin love it

I admit that I thought an E was overkill....not so much anymore...it truly is ICE!!! BUT, I purchased it bc the stone was perfect for me in other respects. If there had been a bigger G color out there with the same specs, I totally would have purchased the G!!! :)

It also depends what shape diamond you are buying. If you are buying a fancy, like a pear, you probably want to go with a better color grade. Is it possible to buy an F.

If you are going with a round, they don''t show color as much and a G is probably going to be just a beautiful as an E.

I know my last ring was an H and to me it looked yellow even though it was in a white gold setting. I ended up hating it and it was a waste of money. This time I''m going with an E so to me the money is worth it.

Really you have to look at the diamonds (and be careful if you are doing this in a jewelry store b/c all the lights there can make an I look fabulous) and see if its going to make a big difference to you.

Good luck!
