Have you seen the GIA report (not a certificate, but report)? Not all the information on the stone is there. In special, no mention is made of treatment at all. Another thing to ask would be if the origin report is included or how the Kashmir claim is substantiated. Finally, what is the shade of blue? Just "blue" is too vague. At these prices, all of these are going to have a huge influence of price.

Is it just me, but does the report look like it's cut off and pasted on another piece of paper (see the bottom fold of the report). It should have treatment listed, which makes me highly suspect of this report. GIA reports are also typically laminated (at least all the ones I've seen are).

As for the stone itself, I don't think it's anything spectacular as far as top quality sapphires are concerned.

I like this stone much better, just from a quick search on google.

For a ring that is terribly expensive, it is sorely lacking many pertinent information:
1. What is the gold content of the ring? 10K? 14k? Higher?
2. What is the ctw of the diamonds and quality (colour and clarity)?
3. Are you willing to accept the 10% return fee equal to $9.5K should you not like the ring?
4. There is no information on the colour quality, not clarity quality of the stone. Nobody is going to make comments on the colour based on a single posted picture which is taken not only at an angle but with no idea of the lighting condition.

TL,
Looks like treatment is listed as NTE (no indication of heating). You don't think the lab memo is merely folded up?

Lady D,
The GIA memo attached states that it is of Kashmir origin.

Oh, I see it now, thanks Chrono!!! Well, before making such a huge purchase, I would want photographs of it in various light sources, and I would want an AGL top quality prestige report. GIA doesn't cut the mustard for me with such an expensive gem.

Sometimes I wonder about post such as these..newbie poster..PS rules state you can't hawk or promote your own merchandise..so I wonder if folks don't "secretly" try to promote their sites or friends sites..similar to the NSC thread on this first page degrading NSC then promoting another
[sigh]..maybe it's just me ;))

Ok, call me stupid but I can't find the picture of the certificate. When I click on the images, all I get is a large version of the ring, saying that it is photo 1/1. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

No, it's not just you. That's always my assumption, too, unless proven otherwise.

It's a terrible thing to be so cynical. :nono:

GIA and all other reputable labs only issue reports. I've no idea why so many people call them certificates, since they're not?

Now of course it may be a photo, but the stone from your link is something!

The $9500 restocking fee seems excessive for an item you have never seen. I can't imagine buying this expensive a piece of jewelry without seeing it in person.

Perhaps not offering a 100% money back guarantee is to keep the lookieloos away, and maybe they will negotiate on the restocking fee if they feel you are for real.

Well considering the OP's one and only other post is also showing merchandise from the same vendor and neither post is suggesting the OP wants to buy the product themselves, just show them off and get opinions; I'd suspect there's possibly more to it also.
Whether I'm right or wrong is another matter, but the initial thought is there... ;)

What's even funnier is that he/she probably thought we'd all fawn over it so that someone reading this thread would decide that is the "must have" sapphire of all time, and instead, we're like. . . :?

The moral here - don't underestimate Pricescopers!!!

I must admit, I'm quite in awe at times of the knowledge of some PSers and have all due respect and appreciation.

On a side note, TL, your avatar had me hypnotized for a moment there!

I was going to pretend that I thought it was a spectacular stone but I can't even pretend. Poor Alec Leu - he needs to get a day job

I understand that, and why too, but I didn't comment on the goods, only on the unusual financial risks in the fine-print.

Since trade-members do know the tricks best, wouldn't a slight easing of this rule benefit all when it comes to fraud?

Just a Q.

I just thought it looks nice, but I do agree to what most of you say here

and one more thng this is not a spam. Im just trying to share what I think is interesting
