Is it possible to find a thin band with a little pave or tiny tiny sidestones (even just 3 or so stones on either side or partway around) for < $1000? I''ve seen the designer options and they are all $2-5k!

I saw an estate ring I really liked that had 3 tiny pave-style diamonds on either side of the main stone but it looks like it wont be an option bc it is currently holding a diamond quite a bit larger than what we are considering.

Price range is around $5k, up to a $6k cap but ideally around $5k. We''d like to put most of the $$ into the stone, and a $2k+ setting is just not really what we can stand to pay.

Still deciding between tiny pave band with matching wedding band, and a plain 6 prong with a diamond band... but now that the ring we really liked seemed to have fallen through (it was $750, which was perfect!) I keep thinking more about the pave

I don't know about pave but you can have diamonds sunk into a plain band in the way the Tiffany etoile band looks. A time ago some on Pricescope had that done to their old plain bands. Any jewellers would be able to advise you. Check out Whiteflash for prices on their pave work, it is all set with hearts and arrows tiny diamonds of F/G and VS quality also.

Knoxjewelers.biz (not .com!) has a lot of gorgeous pave and sidestone settings at great prices. Depending on the style you are looking for, they start at $590 and go up from there. Here are a few:

for $590: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=200&rn=809&action=show_detail
for $790: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=200&rn=773&action=show_detail
for $880: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=200&rn=325&action=show_detail

There are tons more to choose from, but you get the picture! You could also talk to Knox about custom making the ring you''re describing, also. It sounds pretty simple, so it probably wouldn''t be too pricey to duplicate.

There are other good custom vendors you could e-mail for quotes, too. I got my ring custom made at Whiteflash.com and they did a great job. Engagmentringsdirect.com does custom as well. There are others but I can''t think of them off the top of my head. Maybe others can chime in?

I was going to recommend some of the same knoxjewelers rings that were recommended. His work is gorgeous and quite reasonable. I''ve ordered from ross-simons before and returned the items promptly afterwards because the quality was so low. They did redeem their return policy though.
