Considering a 10 Ct t w graduated diamond tennis necklace from either Ross Simons or Bloomingdales.
Both are roughly the same specs H-I / I2 stones (not sure what grading agency but I'm sure its neither GIA or the other big one that is used for many solitary stones.
Regular price at Bloomingdales is $31k (lol - yes I realize that's the BS list price that nobody really pays) and has recently been on sale for as low as about $15k - but do to a special opportunity, I can actually get it for about $9k - which is the same price from Ross Simons. This price seems reasonable for these pieces given the relative size & number of diamonds, as well as their specs (not great for solitary stones, but not terrible for jewelry pieces).
I guess I'm just looking for any input or feedback regarding buying these types of pieces from department stores & similar places. I've always been much more scrupulous about diamond jewelry purchases (engagement ring & stud earrings with quality GIA certified stones) so I'm just a little reluctant to make this purchase. Will I be disappointed with either of these?
