Hi,
I am looking at this GIA certified diamond. Specs below. I have a few questions.
1st, is HCA number really matters? It got a 2.3 and i see that <2 is preferable. Furthermore, if comparing an HCA 0.8 vs 2.3, which is preferable?
2nd, is the heart shape size has to be totally the same? I can see the hearts well but there is 1 that is in smaller size than the other 7 hearts. Is this acceptable or it has to be totally the same size for it to be 3ex.
3rd, there is another diamond which is the same weight, color, clarity, cut but different in certain specs. From what i can remember, i hope it is is below. I did not write down the GIA cert number so i couldnt paste a complete one here.

hearts/arrows is not related to GIA 3x. to be H&A, you would want all hearts to be the same size...if one was small then that would disqualify it. are you looking for H&A specifically?

have you seen both diamonds in person? which one do you prefer? take them in different lighting and look at them from different angles.

Hi slg47,

I didn't know that having 3ex is not related at all with H&A. I assume that having excellent cut would produce a nice H&A. So are you saying that by having 3ex, there are diamonds with not so proportional H&A?

I am not looking for H&A specifically but looking for a kinda good grades diamond. I am wondering whether is it alright to buy it? Does having a one size different Hearts makes it less desirable?

Yes, i did look at both of the diamonds and i could not see any difference with my untrained eyes as both were sparkling.

no, you can have GIA 3x without H&A.
