Just got back from Asia and jet lagged but too excited not to share. There wasn’t a lot of photos of this cut on the internet so wanted to share some for anyone else that was looking at these.

1.27 branded Lucere cut diamond, I color, SI but eye clean. The cut is very cool, mix of brilliant and asscher and love the high crown.

I wasn’t sure how I’d like it in person so decided on a relatively simple and inexpensive setting from James Allen (where I got the diamond). I wanted something low and smooth and yellow gold. Now that I know I love it I’ll probably plan to reset it into a sholdt semi bezel one day.

I’m curious how JA got this branded cut since it’s not something they made. It seems patented from this company :

Is it likely a traded in stone? I don’t care personally, just curious how it all works.

It looks beautiful and is probably a very lively stone! After you’ve gotten some rest, would love to see a video!!

Very cool

I don’t really have anywhere to post a video. Though Good old gold posted some of these back in the day!

Also I upgraded the prongs to claw prongs. 50$ that was well worth it! I wasn’t sure JA could do them but they turned out great!

It’s really lovely and has such great presence too!! I really like it!! The setting is well done too!! Great addition to your collection!

Imgur is easy for posting videos.

My guess is the SI1 knot and the cavity made the stone unappealing to some buyers and JA is the middleman for the seller. However, because it is a Lucerne, this made it very appealing to others… who like you appreciate the stone’s rarity and cut.

What’s important is that you enjoy this special stone and wear it with joy!

Yeah the knot is at a corner and now covered by a prong so I don’t mind at all. I was just curious how it got in their inventory haha. The price seemed lower than ACA branded rounds of similar stats which is why I thought maybe it was second hand/trade in. But maybe rounds are just a lot more popular.

The setting is perfect to enhance the stone. And the claw prongs were an excellent choice (IMHO). You're right, rounds are more popular... but I LOVE square and rectangle cuts.

Your ring is beautiful!

Thanks! I didn’t have any square stones so this was a perfect fit for me.

What a beautiful stone! And it's a great size on your finger.

And those claws are really, really well done! James Allen - who knew?!

Love it, @MakingTheGrade! Congrats! ( - and welcome home!)

Thanks! I wanted something more modest and earth mined in yellow gold that I could wear casually. And this is perfect!

“Just a casual 1.27ct diamond, no biggie!” LOVE it.

This diamond is really special. The facets are so weird and unexpected! I bet it’s quite mesmerizing. I would love to see a video. You need a burner YT account so you can appease us!

And a Sholdt semi bezel is like, THE perfect home for this diamond.

Haha well I have some large moissy pieces. I think this size is great. I’m glad to have the bigger moissy for when I’m feeling very glam but most days im in work pajamas (ie scrubs).

I'm so excited you snagged this!!!

Same! Thanks for the eagle eyes in spotting this on JA! I would never have thought they even carried branded cuts.

Oh I completely agree this is a great wearable size. There are certainly times I would also wear something like this. In future I will add something this size to my collection! It’s even better that it’s a unique cut like your lucere. Such a special piece and all the more because of the kind of serendipitous way you came across it!

Yeah I have a van craeynest ering that has a nice 1ct oec that I would wear but I’ve gained weight the last few years and it was tight to begin with so sadly it doesn’t really fit these days and it can’t be sized. So now it’s a treasure I just hoard haha. I tell myself it’s good motivation to get back in shape after my pending job change

Thanks! I used to really crush on the Tiffany Lucida cut/ring back when it came out but couldn’t really afford or stomach the prices for the brand. But I think this looks very similar and scratches that itch! I basically just made the budget version of the look haha.

I’m not even sure Tiffany still sells the Lucida anymore, I only see them in resale sites. Looks like it got replaced by the Tiffany True.

Uh oh….
While looking up the old Tiffany Lucida I found out they made a matching band. Oh noooo…

The RR happens to have one pretty close to my size, I could probably size it to a 5 though I don’t know if Tiffany would work on something bought 2nd hand.

Beautiful! And you could be a hand model.

It does look like a Lucida!

Lovely stone and it looks great on you!

Beautiful! Definitely looks like the Lucida. Very Elegant!

Soooo pretty! also, JA did a great job with the prongs!! My original ER was from JA and I lived with “blobby” prongs for 5 years before I had DK redo my ring. My hubby had no idea he could even request different prongs when he purchased lol

I didn’t know they did either! But I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask and for 50$ I was willing to gamble and see what happened. Was very pleasantly surprised.
