Hi- here is my 4ct J (med Fl) w H color halo. It is very white looking and you cannot see a diff in color w the pave versus my stone. I saw K colors w Med Fl that were white looking and one L w Strong Fl that blew away the higher I’s I saw. So it really depends.

J SI2 1.29ct - Opinions please! :-) | PriceScope Forum

Just wanted to give you some encouragement - I recently purchased an eye-clean 1.2 J SI2 from HPD so they are DEFINITELY out there!! Although it's a bit of a cheat because it was a future stone (meaning purchased before it was cut) that ended up being graded as an SI1. Hoping you have the same good fortune!!

AGS 0, IDEAL, True Hearts - J?? Help! | PriceScope Forum

J is nothing but a color..especially with fluorescence, J color diamonds face up very white. If it fits the bill, I say go for it! My first upgrade was from an H to a J, I was able to see some difference in color, but nothing really extremely noticeable.

OMG how long does it take a fingernail to grow back ...

Aww, that sounds painful! As gross as it sounds though, it won't be that bad when it falls off. It looks gross now from all the bruising, but once your nail finally lifts off, there might be leftover scabbing or nothing at all (the scab might lift with the nail.)

Have you really got an Alexandrite? Read this first ...

Fascinating and wonderful post, LD! I loved reading it, and this part especially intrigues me: 5. If you pick up your normal camera and take a photo of the gem in daylight and the picture resembles what you see with your eyes (ie a green gemstone) then you’re either a very talented photographer OR the gem you have is not Alexandrite.
