Help with Art Noveau Ring & Pendant | PriceScope Forum

Art Nouveau would have more curving, organic lines, where these are more geometric. Anyway, the pendant seems to have rose cut stones. The sapphires may be simulated, as this was common practice at the time. I am assuming the rest are diamonds. 750 is the European mark for 18k.

Is Tanzanite a good investment? | PriceScope Forum

I imagine not all auctions have the same level of awareness, and sometimes reserve prices allow people to pick up items that could be valued significantly higher in just a few months. We have seen it happening with art collections, antiques and exotics. I assume really precious stones would be possible too.

Jewelry in Renaissant Art | PriceScope

Introduction As one explores art galleries of Rome and of Florence, it is difficult to not become immersed in the literally brilliant use of jewelry in Italian Renaissant paintings. Considering the curious fact that many masters, most famously Botticelli, of the time were goldsmiths themselves, it is not surprising that the rebirth did not limit […]

Have you really got an Alexandrite? Read this first ...

Fascinating and wonderful post, LD! I loved reading it, and this part especially intrigues me: 5. If you pick up your normal camera and take a photo of the gem in daylight and the picture resembles what you see with your eyes (ie a green gemstone) then you’re either a very talented photographer OR the gem you have is not Alexandrite.

I'm calling her Gloriana, a Heavenly Art Deco Halo ...

That is absolutely beautiful! I love Art Deco pieces, and that is truly well done. I’m so glad you had a good experience in the end, though it is not fun to go through something bad to get there. Echoing the other requests—more photos!!!

My dream CER in an amazing Victor Canera Art-Deco-inspired ...

We started discussing Art-Deco-inspired ideas and I inquired about a sketch that Victor had posted on Instagram but had not yet created. One thing led to another, and before I knew it we had a plan in motion that far exceeded anything I had envisioned and one that checked off every single box! Adrenaline ensued…

Aww, thank you so much @LLJsmom!Your amazing MK certainly was a trailblazer and an insipration, and I love your ring so very much as well! I am not sure if I would have summoned the courage to take the plunge had it not been for you and MK, and I am so grateful for every step that led me to this incredible work of art.
