Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

I reserved the droplet on BN. I think the timing should be just right for me to compare with one that Lisa has pulled (which hasn't arrived yet); a spready 9mm F SI1 that Ty suggested. My favorite is the brightest 9mm at $5,300 (the one which you said is obvious), but I'm having a hard time with...

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

AV, thank you for your help and deep expertise! You have an exceptional eye. Those last three you posted are beautiful; each have their own benefit - I love the droplet shape from the BN, and the length of the 9.5. But the ‘this is obvious’ suggestion, the E VS1, is REALLY eye catching. Very...

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

I have narrowed it down to two: This BN https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD12817376, last one on AV’s list. Well priced, 8.91mm in length. Next, a DBL D with flouro. The video speaks to me, but it’s smaller than I wanted. 7.82mm. Much cheaper, too...

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

Very agreed. Thank you, I needed to hear it! Of the last set of the ones AV posted, do you have a preference? This one is few hundred $ cheaper and I’m not sure why: https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD12817376

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

Is this one bad? I kind of think its a 'no' but its just so spready. Apparently length of the pear is my siren song. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-05ct-H-SI1-PEAR-CUT-DIAMOND-LONG-11mm-TEARDROP-SHAPE-NATURAL-1ct-RING-PENDANT/173846949082?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

I'm abandoning the idea. FCD might be better for a long term/slow burn project.

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

I've asked Alex for some pears. This inventory has some serious steals, though most of my faves are sold already.

JPie, sorry I missed your post! I’ve been posting on my phone, so my vision can get a little myopic (cause I can’t see more than a post or two at a time).

Thanks, TL! That's the kind of inspiration shot I was looking for. The setting is perfect for it, and it definitely doesn't look too small in that setting.

Beautiful, Mrs. Strizzle! Great point on adding a bezel + halo for a little more size and color pop.

Great points. I think it would only be worth it if the color was really excellent. And agreed, you are right that most people will not by wowed for the some of the muddier pinks/somewhat pinks (which are most of them). I don't need hand-grabbing attention, but if I got a pink diamond, I do at...

Its also from Liebish, but I deleted it. https://www.leibish.com/pink-diamonds/fancy-intense-purplish-pink-pear-38360. I drew it out, and once I drew it, it looked so tiny! I love that heart too! Do you think its *too* small though?

Great idea! I just 'drew' out the shapes on an online printable ruler to get a feel for the size. The pear is small!

Agreed, I think the purple brown is out. I'm sure you're right that there is probably a reason behind the bargain price. DBL's photography can be confusing for me too. I really appreciate it when they offer a video. I'm always confused as to why some vendors offer photos that show off the best...

How about this purple: https://www.leibish.com/pink-diamonds/fancy-brownish-purple-pink-pear-37136 It has a lot of color and is within budget, and a bit more size too. I've just never really seen a purple diamond ring (IRL or on PS), though, and not sure if it will look basically brown in IRL...

Very true, a good halo can really enhance a stone, and I'm keeping a budget for a custom setting. I'm definitely planning to halo with white melee. I agree, too, that a good halo can make a center stone seem larger.

Fascinating - you're right, and now that you mention it, I wonder if color enhancement/adjustment led to some of my disappointment over the other Leibish brown-pink that I purchased a few years ago. I think the pear is out, in that case. What's left is the heart, then. What do you all think...

Hi friends, I'm working on my engagement ring, which is very exciting! Originally, I'd settled on the idea of a 1ct bright white pear (D-H) with a budget around $4k or less. I'm having a sudden calling, though, to consider a pink FCD. At my pricepoint, they will be tiny. Could I have your...

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

AV - you are so perceptive! I, too, found myself narrowing the list down to the spread-ier stones, and esp. focusing on a length of ~ 9mm. And you are right, the prices are inconsistent, and even upping my budget around $1k or dropping color significantly more doesn't seem to yield much larger...

AV, those are beautifully shaped pears! Very stunning, I especially like the first one - it is now on my shortlist along with the B2C that TY suggested.

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

Thank you, thank you Missy!! I am over the moon! I love both, truly. For modern pears, I like an elongated pear, but if it’s an antique chunky cut I love those too even though they can be more egg shaped! I’ve scoured Love Affairs and JBEG, and I’ve seen some good ‘sold’ pears :cry2: but nothing...

You’re right, I’d totally forgotten that! Excellent reminder. The funny thing is, I was never color sensitive and loved ‘warm’ till this e-ring search. I’ll stick with D - G.

Wow, thank you so, so much!! Again, thank you!!!!!! I spent hours and hours looking at pears over the last two days, and the ones you’ve pulled are sublime! That spready 1ct F SI1 might just be the one! :appl::appl:It has strong flouro so I’m going to read a little more about that in the AM...

Looking for help finding a pear for my e-ring!

Hi friends! :wavey: I’m looking for an icy pear (D - H) for an engagement ring for myself. Even though I have been on the boards for years, this is the first time I’m shopping for ‘the one’. I’ve spent most of my time over on colored stones, so this is all really new to me! I prefer elongated...
