Need help. Got my cushion three stone ring but it's set too low, and I have one other concern.

The ring you designed is exuberant, detailed and intricate. This is a little black dress. What suits you better?

Need help. Got my cushion three stone ring but it's set too low, and I have one other concern.

Here's how I would suggest a way to retain the leaf, but hopefully solve the visibility. Change the two prongs indicated to come off the adjacent prong (red). This will eliminate the bottom part of the prong on the upper end of the shield and integration with the leaf on the lower end of the...

    How to respond

I would respond akin to @monipod "but they sure are lovely to wear" and move on.

I think I hate my e-ring prongs - need tips

If you don't like prongs, you don't like prongs. I have a kid that does not like all sorts of things "touching" that I don't even notice. To him, they are dominating and he can't focus until they go away. Its sounds like you might just have a sensitivity to them. Forgive yourself and get a...

    This is a scam...right?

Your photos are your IP, so it is a copyright violation. You could work with an attorney to issue a take-down notice. @MollyMalone might be able to advise more.

Need help. Got my cushion three stone ring but it's set too low, and I have one other concern.

Ypu only posted 2.5 hours ago, and most US folks are still at work. Our UK friends are probably asleep at midnight and our aussie members are probably just ready for lunch. Give folks a chance to read and respond. People want to help, but it's not instantaneous.

Can anyone recommend a custom cutter for a unique shape?

Not sure if he'd do it, but my first choice would be Gemconcepts. https://gemconcepts.net/

Where to get the diamond set?!

Yes...and no. This kind of settings is safer for the prongs from rubbing, but now the prongs just sitting on top are at risk of shearing off the shank from a hard blow. They actually just soldered the head to the shank (you can see the blob of solder). There is a post that attaches the two, but...

Where to get the diamond set?!

Maybe, but I feel like it was from one of the stock houses. I think the setting is pretty, but it won't have that leggy look on your stone vs. the 2 carat stone. I'm not sure what about it you like, but with a smaller stone, the look will change. That may be good or bad. I do want to point out...

    CAD Review

Fair point. The V-prong when done as nicely as yours, look great. I'm probably more sensitive because I managed to break the tip off a vintage pear diamond. {and chipped the girdle on my OEC. I really should not be allowed nice things...LOL}

Where to get the diamond set?!

Full post. I'm blanking, but I'm pretty sure I've seen that setting by a bigger maker. Anyone recognize this setting? @mrs-b @diamondseeker2006 @PreRaphaelite @AV_ @sledge Anyone else?
  13. rockysalamander

Where to get the diamond set?!

LOL. They can mail it. I would not insure the setting, personally, unless its very expensive. But, what I meant was could you post a link to the setting from IDJ and maybe we can help you find something that is the same or similar.that WF can obtain.

Please help me choose between these two!

This is always a lovely setting. https://www.bluenile.com/build-your-own-ring/six-prong-petite-nouveau-14k-white-gold_48876 This style will make the center stone look larger, because of the narrowing of the shank at the top...

    CAD Review

I think the basket is fine. Just be clear if you want them to be sharp kites or rounded petals. My concerns is that the pears are oriented to expose their most fragile part -- the tips. Would you consider adding bezels to just those four stones? Kinda like these. In the TGP ring posted...

Please help me choose between these two!

This is the best one I can find. Great color/clarity. Nothing visible. Nice angles.I would put this on hold before it disappears -- if your budget can tolerate this amount. https://www.bluenile.com/uk/diamond-details/LD12489561?refTab=DIAMONDS&track=viewDiamondDetails&action=sameTab This drops...

    Is this SI1 Eye Clean?

An SI with a cloud needs to be examined by the BN gemmologist. Its very hard to be sure if there will be haziness given how they light their stones.
  19. rockysalamander

Please help me choose between these two!

It came down to budget for a G color. If you are open to a H, you may open some options.

Where to get the diamond set?!

Can you post the one from IDJ?

Where to get the diamond set?!

Ask WF if they can get the same setting. If no, have ID Jewelry order it and mail it to WF. You always want the diamond vendor to set the stone whenever possible.
  22. rockysalamander

Please help me choose between these two!

#1 has a cavity, so that is a no for me. #2 has clouds as grade setting which can be problematic. Clouds can scatter light within the crystal making it look "cloudy". I would ask the BN gemologist to review this for any impact from the cloud. This is a bit more of sure thing, but a bit...

How to care for a found cat?

What a sweet thing to save this lovely boy. Poor baby would not last for long in thst park. My girl like pipe cleaners, cut on half. My boy thinks they are dumb and likes when we cut holes in boxes and dangle toys from the outside. No box is safe from him. Both the girl and boy like paper bowls...

What do you think of this Diamond for an engagement ring

This does look promising. You should be able to put it on hold and request a photo and video from BN.

    Re-stock fees?

That terrible! I'm so sorry that happened and can see how this places the merchant in a terrible position.
  27. rockysalamander

    Is this a good diamond?

No. The angles are terrible. Please do not choose this diamond. Its going to be tough to get to 1.5 carats that are well cut and good performing in your budget (which is a nice budget). So, something is going to have to give. I would recommend you buy the best-cut, best performing stone in...

    Re-stock fees?

I think the best you can do is full disclosure. Its changing landscape out there and I don't envy small businesses. I will buy with restock fees, sometimes. It depends on how much I want the item, how exclusive it is and if I have the option to use that fee toward a different item. For diamonds...
