    First post.. Engagement ring time!

I'm not very knowledgeable with Oval stones but I think Jonathan at August Vintage specializes in precision cut oval stones. He is a trusted vendor on PS and also an active member. Reach out to him for any questions you might have. He is also in NY state. Others I'm sure will chime in soon with...

    First post.. Engagement ring time!

Welcome to Pricescope, 1. Diamonds are usually cheaper to buy online vs in person. 2. Local retailers typically can't match higher value stones found online due to higher overhead expenses. 3. With a lower colored Diamond like an H or I a rose or yellow gold setting will offset the warmth...

Completely lost on choosing a round brilliant

I would pass on this one due to the knot on the inclusion list

Completely lost on choosing a round brilliant

I also like the 1.9 VS2 I numbers look complimentary and will have lots of bold colored flashes with the small table and high crown. The faint fluorescence would be a non factor. The only thing I don't like is the depth @ 62.7 outside the recommended range but shouldn't be a huge factor in...

    my 2 ct rock search

I would not consider this diamond, be patient and ask your bf to visit whiteflash. ..if he's close by that's his best option.

Is this a good one? (confused about girdle, crown, and pavilion)

Sorry I forgot to add depth 60 - 62.3 If you stay in these ideal ranges you will be ok then for further evaluation you will need advanced imaging like Aset/Idealscope

Is this a good one? (confused about girdle, crown, and pavilion)

Keep in these ranges for ideal cut diamonds Table 54 - 57 Crown Angle 34 - 35 ( Sometimes 35.5 may work paired with 40.6 Pavillion ) Pavillion Angle 40.6 - 40.8 Lower Girdle Facets 75 - 80( If you prefer big bold flashes keep to 75 - 77 )

How to finally decide on a stone?

At VS1 clarity will be totally eye clean and there are no inclusions on the table. G color will face up white due to the ACA brand. Overall proportions look great which will give you lots of sparkle and fire with that small table. Awsome stone you can't go wrong.

    Please analyse this stone

Based on the numbers the diamond falls in ideal category and the angles work well together. To further evaluate light performance are you able to get Aset/Idealscope images?

How to finally decide on a stone?

I would recommend [email protected] USA Certed Diamonds he is a trusted vendor on this forum.

Recommendations for diamond earring setter work in NYC? pl help

I've had a project done by GemKraft in NYC and happy with the results. Ask for Marcel he's across the street from GIA headquarters. Another vendor that's recommended is ID jewelers.

My technical questions answered by John Pollard from CBI- fascinating

GIA will only grade loose stones for that reason.

Help: Advice needed. Brian Gavin Diamonds holding onto Refund

I really sympathize with your situation OP and I'm sorry you have to deal with all this. I just want to say BGD is a very trusted vendor on this site and have no doubt you will get your refund. This is a very unique return in the sense BGD doesn't deal with this often . This would explain their...

Does a stone look better unmounted?

I also like the 2.35 VS1 H The sought after 34.5/40.8 Combo is very complimentary along with the 54.6 table and the 76 LGF Will have alot of bold colored flashes. In my opinion perfect proportions.

FINAL ROUND - WHICH ONE WINS?

In short yes an ACA super ideal will out perform your previous options. You are paying the premium for a branded stone that comes with outstanding light performance. Also the upgrade policy is one of the best in the business, spend $ 1 more and get full value towards your upgrade.

FINAL ROUND - WHICH ONE WINS?

The size difference won't be very noticeable so I would pick the 1.71 with the smaller table with higher clarity and color.

    Help choosing diamond please

I would definitely pass on this stone, with a depth of 62.6 that would be outside the ideal range we recommend. Also a crown of 36.5 would not be complimentary with a Pavillion of 41. Easy pass for me Is your budget 15 to 16 k you are working with? We can definitely help find you an amazing...

New guy - short on time!

Didn't realize they are lab grown diamonds thanks for pointing this out, and yes will get better feedback if it's moved to the proper thread.
  25. J

New guy - short on time!

Because you might be paying more for the stone than what it is actually worth due to the lax grading compared to GIA. If the diamond speaks to you and you are happy with the price go for it !
  26. J

New guy - short on time!

Personally I wouldn't buy a stone of this size graded by IGI that's just me....
  27. J

New guy - short on time!

Do you have a GIA report for both stones for further evaluation?
  28. J

I just can’t see the difference... please advise

The Aset image you posted shows white in the middle of the table, that indicates light leakage so I would pass on this stone.
  29. J

Confused after purchase - opinions welcome!

Sorry to give you bad news but anything that scores over 2 on the HCA you should reject and as Sledge pointed out there will probably be light leakage so light performance will suffer.
