    Can anyone purchase Stuller settings?

Just an FYI, but that website was $100 more than my local jeweler on this piece that I just had set: https://iamore.jewelershowcase.com/products/9834/12235230/?groupId=193105&recommendationSource=AMS But, another local jeweler quoted me $700 more than that website on the same piece so it pays...

As a man, I really like it. Your husband will LOVE it. Can you tell more about it, please? Stone measurements, etc.? Also, do you have any profile shots?

How much are you paying for your designs?

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

Thank you. Even if the stone doesn't sparkle as much after we whack off the culet a bit, the color is such a strikingly rare shade it will still be pretty.

How much are you paying for your designs?

Thanks. I really like how the design turned out too. I talked to my gem cutter, Scott Laborie, and he's going to "shave off" a mm or so of the culet - says it's a quick, easy job and he will do it for free. I will have to pay my jeweler a little bit to remove it and reset it, but I believe...

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

Well, that is indeed what I'm going to do. However, Scott Laborie, who cut the stone, is going to do it - for free! He said it's a quick, easy fix for him to do. So, I will have to pay my jeweler $25 or so to remove and re-set the stone, but that's a no-brainer compared to just chucking the...

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

No, I can't stand a loose ring, so looser isn't going to work. I wore the ring for a few hours this morning and something is definitely going to have to change. I have also reached out to the cutter, Scott Laborie, to see what he thinks about recutting the pavilion to a shallower depth. I...

    Yeah, that would likely work.

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

I received a response back from Sam and he says he can fix it. What he recommends is building up the prongs so he can re-set the stone a bit higher. The cost to do it, including shipping would be $230, which seems reasonable enough. However, I would hate to ruin the smooth profile of the way...

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

What did you type in the search to find it? I may be able to locate a jeweler that specializes in that.

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

Oh, I see what you mean now. Yes, that may work. My thoughts would be to build it up but enlarge the ring also. It's currently the perfect size, certainly not too big. But that lattice approach may work just fine. That's quite ingenious, actually. Who did that for you?

I like your positive thinking. Positive thinking always seems to work out for the better.

I sent Sam a message with some photos to see what he says.

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

I can't afford another custom setting, so I'm really distraught. Just doing this approach was more than I felt like I should spend. But, someone recommended having the area at the top of the setting built up a little bit, thereby effectively raising the culet of the stone off my finger a bit...

Can gold be added to this setting?

Can the area indicated by the arrow be built up a little bit with additional metal? My ring is 14K yellow gold and the culet of the stone sits flush with the bottom of the setting and presses against the skin on top of my finger. I'm wondering if this area could be built up by about 1mm or so...

How much are you paying for your designs?

Unfortunately I didn't, and that's my fault. I had done tons of research and measuring and even the Stuller factory had told another jeweler that it would accommodate a stone with a pavilion even deeper than mine (which we now know is totally incorrect). Anyway, I went into the jewelry store...

    Finally, here's my ring, y'all

So way back several months ago I came to this forum with help picking out a stone and finding a ring design for it. Well, here it is. I had a YAG stone, cut by Scott Laborie, set by a local jeweler in a stock Stuller (#9834) setting in 14K yellow gold. However, I'm not 100 sure I'm going to be...

How much are you paying for your designs?

I did indeed - just picked it up from my local jeweler this past Friday. I decided to go with a stock Stuller setting (#9834) in 14K yellow gold, because after looking at all sorts of different designs from David Klass and others, I felt like the Stuller setting displayed the stone exactly the...

    Colored gem beauties (lab-created)

Here's my final collection of paraiba-colored YAG. One for me, one for the wife, and one for little girl. The top right one will be posted for sale soon if anyone is interested in it. It measures 9x7mm. Here's a video under a dull, overcast sky. So, what should I tell people when they ask...

    Colored gem beauties (lab-created)

From the same piece of YAG - just different cuts, plus one for the wife and one for the daughter. Oh, and a synthetic blue spinel, that I decided was too small for my wants.

    Colored gem beauties (lab-created)

@bludiva, I'm having another stone cut which should be finished within the next day or so. I just wanted a handful of stones, cut just a little bit differently from one another, to choose from so I could select the one that I like the most. I have also decided to go with a simple Stuller...

    Colored gem beauties (lab-created)

Chatham stones can be ordered my almost any jeweler, but, to me, they are pretty unimpressive looking in person.
