Opinions on this Amethyst ring please

Unless you paid like 5 dollars for it, its likely real. Its very pretty!

Amethyst isn't terribly expensive unless you start getting into some weird specialty stuff (and even then still not terribly expensive unless you're buying boulders...lol

Would it be harmful to do the immersion test, putting the whole ring in white bowl of water to look for zoning?
Is the price you paid ok with getting the tab prongs looked at and possibly fixed? They look a bit snaggish.
I think it looks lovely!

I tried the immersion test- to me it has “ametrine” like zoning in one corner.
I don’t have any amethyst stones to compare- this one caught my eye
because it had saturation. It’s my birthstone, only paid $100. The setting
Is not flimsy ( kinda middle of the road) my jeweler can secure it better.
