Beautiful!
Some sort of display case for sure, so it can be viewed when not being worn.
Is the opal a ( for lack of better term) doublet?
But only for the sake of needing a double sided cabochon to work with the design, not in the sense of making a stone look a higher grade.
Just curious, as it doesn’t diminish the beauty at all.

No, it’s a solid. I’m not sure if it’s a hydrophane opal (Ethiopian) or a Crystal Opal. I should stick it in some water and see!

Thank you everyone.
I love her, I’ve been wearing her non stop since yesterday (except into the shower and to bed).
Out at dinner last night I was sternly told “stop playing with your ring” by my daughter mimicking me saying “stop playing with your phone “
Here are a few more photos.
I’ve put her alongside my other opal ring. Technically the other ring has a far superior opal (somewhat similar though the other is an Australian dark crystal with very strong colour even in low light with broad flash).
Aurora is more “waterery”, the colours float more and arent quite as intense as my other opal. In low light, like most opals, the colour play is muted.
Aurora has big presence (I’m a size 8 finger wit quite large hands btw).

Don’t laugh but I’ve told my daughter (she with the size 4 fingers and not much love for jewellery) that when I drop off my perch to offer up any of my jewels that she doesn’t want to my Pricescope Pals!
