Suggestions for France/Germany

I’m going to France and Germany next week. We’ll mostly be in Paris and in Aachen, and I wanted to ask if anyone has suggestions for jewelry shops (or anything else off the beaten path) that can’t be missed?

On a side note: have piccolo, will travel. I’m going with my college alumni marching band to perform at the events commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day before visiting friends in Germany. I joke that I go the best places wearing burnt orange polyester and a Stetson, and this trip is no exception.

Sounds GREAT! I just say, walk by the LV store in Paris, often there is a line very long.. it's interesting. When I was there I was more into buying purses than bling (my how times change).. but I can say that Versailles was awesome. Safe wonderful and happy trip!
