I must ask a stupid Q. Can a single diamond rough yield 2 different color stones?

11 polished diamonds from E to L from one rough.
You may see here how color grade depends from size and cut of polished diamonds( the rough had color zoning also)

I know this is a random Qs which deviates from the original intent.
But for a 77ct rough, the total caret wt of the 11 stones is only 22.79ct.

Is that normal? Seems like a lot of wastage.

it had 12 stones IF-VVS with total weight 32+ct .
The yield is 42% that is not bad in case IF-VVS polished diamonds.
if you cut VS-I clarities from same rough then an yield could be much better( 50-55%)

I dug it out, it doesn't show up well magnified with an Iphone because the diamond is tiny but this is a yellow, brownish diamond from the Argyle mine here in Australia. Face up or upside down (two photos are taken with it up the wrong way to try and show the colour variations) it's 4 different colours in one stone, which the eye sees way better than these photos;

D color 2.00ct and Intense Blue 6.60ct from same rough!
it was amazing sample.

What! Where is the blue color coming from? Is it in the front part of the stone that shows some iridescence in the video? Super cool.
