After the color explosion yesterday, I decided to wear a couple self set pieces with a pre-loved necklace from @leslie1956. Star sapphire cab, blue-green tourmaline with fire opals, and faceted moonstone with sapphires.

The pendant looks great with those rings!

Here in dim artificial lighting it looks pretty darn blue....i love it
I havent been able to find many other tsavorites that look alike.

Wearing these on my right hand today. Pinky is self-set amethyst, 10mm heart shape. Middle finger is Holley blue agate cab, also self-set. Ring finger is an eBay purchase with moonstone and red and orange garnets.

Those emeralds are a delicious minty green shade! Thats the kind of bracelet that I would put on if I needed a refreshing pick me up in jewelry form! Not as hyper or mentally stimulating as other brighter gems such as spessartites, but none the less a refreshing stone combo to wear when life feels a little less magical, bland, or dull!

Last night (I sleep with rings on every night) & this morning I'm wearing some silver pieces.

Thanks! You are right, It is a refreshing piece. Especially since I tend towards glow over sparkle. But dang, sometimes sparkle is just fun! It feels like a joyful, light hearted piece.

I picked out my rings for tomorrow!
I will be going to a nursery to pick up some seeds for my flower bed and succulents for a terrarium I'm working on & these two cabochon babies will be coming with me.

14k yellow gold rings with a N4 Aussy opal that shines every color (Sadly I can't capture the colors on film as I see them in real life whatsoever!) & a springy mint-peridot-green colored tourmaline.

So beautiful, and you wear them so well! That opal is gorgeous.

A big hear hear to going to the nursery. I had to do that first this year to get myself geared up and inspired enough to work the soil and clean up. Now I’m heartbroken because the bunnies and deer are eating everything inspite of protections...sigh. I’ try to make the experience a peaceful one but it soon becomes a struggle of life and death lol. Even now, I’m ready to go get some ugly fencing. It’s my only hope!

My unheated blue sapphire was a velvety blue in direct sunlight. Too bad with hot weather this week, I'm inclined to stay indoors.

Edit: how curious that it looks better on camera. Is there something wrong with my eyes, that I see it as darker and not as bright as on phone camera?

I made the mistake of keeping this mahenge spinel cab knowing i didn't love it enough to invest in a custom setting to accommodate it's non-standard size. It sat on LT until I came across this preloved setting at my jewelers. I'm really happy with the result as the gold bezel brings out more of the tone I had originally hoped for when buying.

It's an Amy from Kenya. The card said limited edition of 10, so perhaps they only had 10 stones 9X9mm (2 carats plus) and made these pendants. I didn't exactly know what stone I was going to get but the stone is 100% eyeclean and a perfect medium velvety purple.
I'm super happy with my purchase, it was inexpensive but it is so beautiful, I am wearing it right now on a short 14 inch chain.

P.S. The loose stone in my avatar picture is a 1.12ct colour shifting Madagasacan Sapphire and is a bit less saturated IRL (or daylight), more lavender than purple. This one will have a story.

Playing around with my 1.75 ct Burmese spinel in an empty ring mount with some mounting wax. I’m considering setting it, even though I like my Mahenge more. It’s a little deep in cut. I would not use this setting.

I wear Lilly Pulitzer almost everyday, so I have to match my gem of the day to my crazy Lilly pattern of the day. Today’s gemstone is a blue spinel which was crazy hard to photograph. It’s really sparkly in real life but it doesn’t translate well.

i have an ugly as sin smoky quartz ring (your stone is much nicer than mine) but my stones still have potential so im looking for ideas as i'm senimentally attached to my ugly little puppies
