I was looking for a pink sapphire. I saw this on Gemfix and loved the color! However, I wasn’t sure about the veil inclusion mentioned, or if the sapphire has a good cut.

https://gemfix.com/gems/sapphire-pink-13-432

Thanks for any help!
I really like the cut and color! Gemfix ( in general) is a trustworthy vendor, so I wouldn't worry too much about trustworthiness, etc.

Price is fair

I think it faces up a nice size for a subcarat sapphire at almost 6mm. It’s obviously cut well, just look at the sparkle and no windiwing.

Very pretty bubblegum pink color. I would like to see a sunlight photo as it may Fluor, and that’s a bonus.

IMO, I think the inclusion will not be obvious and it helps keep the price down, and as long as it was heated only, no diffusion, I think it’s nice.

Is flour, florescence? Is that desirable in sapphires?

What a pretty color! Andrew’s cutting is great. I have 2 stones from Gemfix and both exceeded my expectations in person vs on their videos.

Yum! The color and cut look nice to me

Thanks everyone! Sapphire has been purchased. I thought about it overnight but couldn’t get the color out of my head, so I knew I had to buy it!

Now to decide how to set it. I want to use it as an alternate engagement ring at times, so while I don’t want anything too eccentric, I do like unique settings. My current engagement ring is a pear set in a double halo. Halos are definitely my favorite, but maybe I should go with something a little different? I was thinking a three stone of some sort, but don’t want anything that is too plain. I’ll probably go with DK when I’m ready to set.

Three stone with side mint greens, like minty tourmaline or garnet.

Alright, I know I said maybe three stone, but I’ve found a few settings I really like and am considering. Some of these are PS photos, apologies if these are yours, I just really loved your ring :)

Or perhaps a style like this:

Or the middle ring in this photo (the diamond halo is a different size than the one above) :

How pretty! It would look beautiful with a chunky halo like flower petals, kind of like your middle pic. You can do a lot with that gorgeous color!

Ok here’s a few pics in my bathroom lighting. Unfortunately it was dark by the time I got home, so not an ideal time for pictures. Overall, I really like the color. If you notice in the second picture, around the edge it looks included. This might be the veil inclusion mentioned. I can’t see it in real life, it only shows up in pictures. I haven’t decided if it bothers me yet or not! lol

I think it looks beautiful, the color is nicer in your fuzzy photos than Gemfix’s clear photo. Tell your jeweler to cover the inclusion with a prong if it bugs you. Honestly, inclusions in colored stones are not as big a deal as they are in white diamonds, especially strongly colored stones like this one. As long as they don’t kill the overall transparency or durability of the gem, it should be fine.

Did you view it in sunlight yet?

No I haven’t! I got home so late yesterday that I wasn’t able to. Unfortunately it’s supposed to be cloudy today and tomorrow and I work this weekend! I’m a nurse so when I work I’m gone all day. Oh well, hopefully next Monday I can really see it in sunlight.

Although my camera isn’t 100% accurate as far as the color, it appears more rose colored in person, vs the very bright/fuchsia pink in pictures.

Wow it is so pretty indoors! :kiss2:

Thank you! :kiss2: Your pink sapphire and ring are gorgeous!

First and last picture are inside, middle picture is outside under clouds. The first photo is probably closest to true color. Please excuse my skin tone, I think the camera makes my hands look much more purple than they are!

It’s very pretty. I hope you enjoy it. Keep us posted on how you set it. I think it would nice in white metal.

Thank you! I’m really nervous about setting it. Not sure why, I’m just so undecided on how to set it.

I was thinking a floral diamond halo, but can’t find something that feels right.

I think I’m going to go for a cross between these two (top is a PS photo):

739D75A9-F5F3-4F1C-9106-BDC1183A0BC2.jpeg

Obviously with the more rounded shape of the bottom ring, but I prefer the bezel/milgrain of the top ring.

Oh sorry, I should have specified, this ring will have round brilliants. I mostly used the pictures above as style inspiration for the setting.

I already have a rose cut diamond cluster ring:

Quick question, for those who have contacted DK, is there a better way to contact him? I emailed a few days ago on the aol email and haven’t heard back. Not sure how long their response time usually is.

He usually takes a few days to answer an email. I sent one on a Wednesday and didn't hear back until the following Monday. It might depend on the difficulty of your request as well.

DK must be overwhelmed by email. Be patient. They are a small family operation, but you can trust him to get back with you when his schedule clears.
