Thanks to so many wonderful YOU on here that helped me through this whole process!!!! your guidance/comments/suggestions.... made a different in my choices... not sure if everyone turn off their notification so i tag you guys... if i miss anyone please let me know. THANKS!!!!

It suck to know that the ring was purchased, IN the house the whole month but I had to try to ignore it (ok maybe I did go on WF to check the final image that they took of my ring before shipping it out LOL) cuz I know it would be any of these days: xmas, new year, lunar new year, our mini vacay, a show where we had to dress up, V-day, my bday, his bday, our anniversary...all pretty much close to each other LOL AND it happened so unexpected... in our home, just us 2 with some good laughter cuz he was so nervous and I ended up hearing different question and gave a totally unrelated answer lol, it was cute and bridezilla here I come lol JK!!!!
but I have a concern and I need help ASAP!! cuz I only have 2 days left to return.
this is my e-ring https://www.ajaffe.com/engagement-rings/me2029q-four-prong-engagement-ring-with-diamond-band WF description said 1.65mm, and i was told the width where the diamond are set is 1.8mm, now keep in mind i didn't get to see it in person so i though it sounded good, but it turn out too tiny and danty, i can barely see the small diamonds but pretty much a thin white shiny strip. so now I'm not sure would a 2mm make a different or how big should i go, i don't want to a too thick of a shank cuz it make my diamond look small(right now the super tiny shank make it look so big and nice), should i have the whole e-ring remake to thickened it or should i get a different ring? the style of the ring is how i like it tho

My finger is size 4. Rock is J SI1. The one thing I found interesting is as I video clip this the stone look more yellow than it is in person. It’s pretty unique n I love yellow color so it’s something I don’t mind n I like it. Im only concern about the width of the e-ring right now

Beautiful ring and congratulations!

It just depends on what you want. I’m into stacking thin bands (1.8 mm or so) with my asscher split shank (each shank is 2mm). You know, why have one when you can have more than one lol.

My best suggestion would be to go try some on. Maybe 2.5mm?

Wait, I’m confused. What is the width of the engagement ring band? Which are you worried about, the ER or WR band?

Beautiful ring! congratulations! I would only be concerned if the color bothers you in person, not what it looks like in photos. For example I love emeralds and but when I owned emeralds if I ever tried to take a nice picture of an emerald it never looked like what I saw in real life

sorry if i confused you, and so i went back and edited my post to make it clearer (hopefully) I'm talking of the width of the shank of the e-ring. and i guess the best way is to go to a store to try on

A Jaffe manufactures the shank as 1.65 to 1.8 mm? That is really thin. I have been told 2mm is the thinnest you should go for durability and wear issues. For my little bands, I don’t mind, but for my ER shanks, I went with 2mm based on professional advice.

Congratulations on your engagement! I have stacking bands that are 1.8 mm with micro-pave diamonds, which I love for stacking and as spacers. But the diamonds at that small size only really perform under certain lighting. For an e-ring with a pave band, I would want it thicker for durability (I've also heard 2 mm is the minimum width for durability) and for more sparkle from the pave. GL!

WOW!! That band makes your diamond POP. I personally would not return it - looks great! I have SO many thin bands and I wear my rings very roughly - never off etc. I think you're perfectly fine; however, if YOU want something else go for it.

Congrats, beautiful ring!. I don't like to comment about setting style, b/c everyone have their own preferences, but as for the width, IMO 3mm is perfect ,not too wide and not too thin.

I’m no help at all.... I love your current band! I prefer that thin band ... now you’ll be flooded with different opinions, so ignore them all and go for what you like! I hope you find something that is perfect for you.

@nholagi- It looks great but it feels flimsy and does not feel durable to you then by all means, get something you feel comfortable wearing everyday and not worry too much. Beautiful ring altogether. May I ask what size it is? It’s a great size for your finger/hand. Congrats!!!

Congratulations! I love that ring! I think it's perfect on your finger. It really make the diamond stand out. But if you worry about the durability, maybe a wider one is better.

Thanks everyone, sorry if I don't reply to each question but knowing that I read them all and just answer all in one reply. it's just so overwhelming with the event and on top of it is my bday(which is today) so I actually haven't even had time to sit down and let reality hit LOL

but anyway, I only had the ring for 1 day and I already sent it back. I'm still deciding if I want a 2mm or 2.2mm... I'm trying to get more pics and check them out and see what the different and what I like. also, I notice the melees are whiter comparing to my center stone, I'm told the color is higher so now I'm deciding if I want o ask to reduce the color to kinda match with my stone or not. or if it look normal??? this is my 1st ring so I don't know. I will upload a few more pictures and some videos in different lightings to see that it's white at some and yellow at the other and please help let me know if the melee color should be reduce?

the current shank width is 1.65mm, center stone ACA 1.538 J (AGS) -I tried on a few different sizes from 1-2 carat and this size look good on my finger.

1 thing to note as you watch this is the stone look a lot more yellow in the video than in real life. I can tell a bit of warmth color. but when I was video this, I was shocked that it look so yellow (hence you see in the 1st video I move my hand out of the way cuz I was checking to see if it's look that yellow LOL phew), video are done by the kitchen window, in and office setting near the window and with black desk, light yellow wall, kinda yellow lighting, near sunlight, in a casino's right under some bright beaming light... the melee are pretty much exactly the same without changing...

video's quality id def not as sharp as it is on my phone... not sure how to upload HD video on youtube.

Sorry for uploading so many pics but I'm sure some of you don't mind seeing the bling lol concentrate between the stone and melees please thanks 27D04D85-2BBB-488A-88F9-7645D6BBB1C1.jpeg FF80F785-9074-4899-8A6F-659E21A22FBE.jpeg CA991BFE-6BB8-4528-AE41-7960DD8A6BAF.jpeg AFD5790E-16E9-42D7-8F2D-7DE017E346E2.jpeg 6EF7A6DF-7346-4D39-A422-8D698165932B.jpeg 7629BC0E-A4D0-43CA-BFFC-A280918EB05E.jpeg 632CE0EA-05FE-4E95-AE53-72A45FAFDE4E.jpeg F2B56D5C-891A-4458-A1AA-E87A0440754F.jpeg 7F779086-15C2-4003-AFE9-975F23A5CEBA.jpeg F6BBF210-4AE9-46D7-B4B3-1EDAF83C5B58.jpeg

I think you are color sensitive. If noticing the tint is already an issue for you, it will on,y become a bigger issue in the future. Maybe you should upgrade to a G. I love the dainty setting btw.

To a newbies eyes I think it’s definetly catching colours around you. Same as it almost went green by the window in the end of video 2. Would it catch less colours with a G? Dunno, But this is all in your head and you should feel comfortable.

Regarding width, I think the stone looks bigger with a smaller width and it looks very nice on your size 4 finger.

With that said I’m going with 2.5mm width for my GF size 6 finger and 1.4ct J VS2, but looking at your pics I really like how the diamond pops!

Not an expert but felt that I had to share my opinion since my stone is close to yours :roll2:

Your diamond is beautiful!!

Go try on some settings at a jeweler (don’t buy, just try). You need to see different width bands on your actual hand.

Personally I think your setting is beautiful and yes it is thin. I’d maybe go 2 mm in that same style setting and ask to have the melee a lower color. Note that the pave stones will always be brighter because they are smaller. So don’t let that worry you. If it does bug you, get a plain shank on the ering and then buy stackers with different size and shape (and color) stones.

do you notice the tin or just me? I actually don't mind, I was just trying to see if I should just reduce the color melees or everyone wear a ring with brighter melees like I do?

yes!! I read enough on the forum to know that it catch color around me so I'm not freaking out at all. it's pretty fun to look at actually. and yes you have almost similar stone to mine, I love mine!! and I hope all my video and pic help (altho someone frm the fam just called me out and said the color is not good enough and try to make me look bad for getting it -wth??!!?)

what a pretty ring! the design is beautiful, and I even like the contrast between the white melee and the J. However, here's my true opinion...I think that's a VERY tinted J. I realize you said it looks better in person.
so, given all that, I would ugrade color if possible and get the 2mm while you're at it.
Problem solved.
You may want to check out Julyisjuly's thread. She got a G color from WF that she didn't like.

this gave me a lot of stresses!! went to 2 stores in the mall and I realized how pushy these ppl are. all they wanna do were pushing me to buy something and didn't even give me a chance to talk and they would jump in my mouth.... and thanks to PS that I learn so much that with very lil experience I can tell that these ppl were trying to show me some "amazing" stones lol and my goal was to get an idea of the shank width which they weren't willing to measure the rings I pointed out SMH...
