Where can I get a ring setting only?

I spent more on my sapphire than I had originally planned and now I'm on budget with a ring setting. I had planned to get a ring setting from James Allen, but they want $200 to set my outside stone which would push me over. Are there any other online retailers that sell just the ring setting? I had my heart set on a six prong ring with either pave or channel set accent diamonds. I only want to spend up to ~$1000 for the ring setting and installation of the stone. Should I readjust my expectations or is this doable?

Pretty inspiration setting!

My recommendation is to reach out to David Klass and see what he would quote you to create your inspiration setting.

The other suggestion is to look though www.gabrielny.com and see if there is a setting you like. If so, reach out to IDJ in NYC to see why they would quote you for the setting & setting your stone. Local jewelers might also carry the brand, but I have found that IDJ sometimes provides below suggested retail pricing.

Lastly, Stuller has a variety of well made setting and virtually all jewelers carry them, look through their inventory and see if something catches your eye.

I would contact ID Jewelry; they will set an outside stone. I bought my engagement ring mount and wedding band from them at prices significantly less than I found anywhere online. I worked with Yekutiel. I sent him a description of what I wanted and inspiration photos. He found me something very similar. It was a great deal!

I have purchased two settings for CS from them and there are others who have purchased settings from them in the colored stone forum as well. They will set outside stones, but I have had them send me the setting and then had the stones set locally by my jeweler that has set several CS for me without damaging any. The try before you buy program is fantastic.

James Allen has a sale now, but now I'm conflicted on which one I want. I've read that pave diamonds have a tendency to fall out. Is there a certain type of pave setting that is more secure?.

I think you have to buy both a stone and the setting from them to get the sale price on the setting.
