How on earth is any sane person comfortable with this man having the nuclear codes?

Government recommends substantial term of imprisonment for Michael Cohen.

I found that tweet especially funny since 1. It doesn't, at all. It directly F-ing implicates him. And 2. We all know he doesn't read.

I find it odd that the fake orange sleaze hasn't said much about George Conway's scathing criticisms of him and odd that he hasn't given Kelleyanne her walking papers.

My guess is Trump doesn’t want attention drawn to Conway's tweet. I doubt his base is reading Conway’s Twitter. Trump wants his base to continue to hear witch hunt and no collusion.

I’m waiting to hear republicans in government speak out on yesterday’s announcements and yet all we hear is crickets. The Sunday morning political shows should be interesting.

Sarah Sanders released a statement stating the media is making up a story where there isn’t one.

It was just announced John Kelly will be leaving at the end of the year.

Who are these people, I don't understand how anyone can not see him for what he is at this point. I have noticed on social media that the comments have certainly seemed to shift against him. Of coarse, there are still trolls, but it seems to have dropped substantially.

I read this yesterday and again this morning (it is excerpted from "The New York Times"). I still cannot get over how serious it is. And yet no one has made any move to rein in Trump for illegal behavior. Because he is president, he is above the law.

"WASHINGTON — The latest revelations by prosecutors investigating President Trump and his team draw a portrait of a candidate who personally directed an illegal scheme to manipulate the 2016 election and whose advisers had more contact with Russia than Mr. Trump has ever acknowledged.

In the narrative that the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, and New York prosecutors are building, Mr. Trump continued to secretly seek to do business in Russia deep into his presidential campaign even as Russian agents made more efforts to influence him. At the same time, in this account he ordered hush payments to two women to suppress stories of impropriety in violation of campaign finance law.

The prosecutors made clear in a sentencing memo filed on Friday that they viewed efforts by Mr. Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, to squelch the stories as nothing less than a perversion of a democratic election — and by extension they effectively accused the president of defrauding voters, questioning the legitimacy of his victory.

On Saturday, Mr. Trump dismissed the filings, and his lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, minimized the importance of any potential campaign finance violations. Democrats, however, said they could lead to impeachment.

In the the memo in the case of Mr. Cohen, prosecutors from the Southern District of New York depicted Mr. Trump, identified only as 'Individual-1,' as an accomplice in the hush payments. While Mr. Trump was not charged, the reference echoed Watergate, when President Richard M. Nixon was named an unindicted co-conspirator by a grand jury investigating the cover-up of the break-in at the Democratic headquarters.

'While many Americans who desired a particular outcome to the election knocked on doors, toiled at phone banks or found any number of other legal ways to make their voices heard, Cohen sought to influence the election from the shadows,' the prosecutors wrote."

I don’t understand how Trump still has supporters @Octo2005 . Look at the people who have run to defend Trump on this site and these people said they didn’t vote for him LOL.

@AGBF Thank you for posting the above. On the ABC Sunday morning political show commentators were saying they don’t think the Mueller investigation will hurt Trump. :angryfire:

Michael Cohen got three years. Will Trump be found guilty of anything?

"Michael D. Cohen, the former lawyer for President Trump, was sentenced to three years in prison on Wednesday morning for his role in a hush-money scandal that could threaten Mr. Trump’s presidency by implicating him in a scheme to buy the silence of two women who said they had affairs with him.

The sentencing in federal court in Manhattan capped a startling fall for Mr. Cohen, 52, who had once hoped to work by Mr. Trump’s side in the White House but ended up a central figure in the inquiry into payments to a **** star and a former Playboy model before the 2016 election.

Federal agents raided Mr. Cohen’s office and home in April, and he later turned on Mr. Trump, making the remarkable admission in court that Mr. Trump had directed him to arrange the payments."

You do realize that trump admits to paying off the **** star. This means he admits to having this affair.

I don’t exactly know the point of posting this article.
Of course he did! and so did many of our other Presidents. IMO, it is none of our businesses of whom or how many different women they slept with.

Hi,

The purpose of the payoffs were to prevent the stories from coming out before the election. That is against the campaign election laws. Its called cheating to win an election. So Trump had illegal help by a newspaper publisher and the Russians. He will turn out to be an illegitimate President who stopped at nothing to win after he understood that the Russian were going to help him. This is an American tragedy. Trump is taking your democracy away. Democracy is fragile. He is a terrible man.

DF:
The fact that he is the slime ball womanizer he is . . . honey, that is NOT the problem. It was campaign funds used to influence/coerce/payoff in order to effectively buy an election by buying silence. It is a direct violation of campaign law which is law for a reason.

It also doesn't matter that Trump wants to build in/do business w/ Russia . . . except as a presidential candidate; and as the President, he should have no business dealings AT ALL, with anyone, who might influence/coerce/payoff/buy the election on his behalf, or that he might profit from in his personal life while in office or after he leaves office. You cannot use the presidency for personal gain (in that manner) and you cannot collude with foreign govts. The selling of the U.S. presidency should be, if nothing else, a treasonable offense.

He didn't just break the law, he saluted it with his middle finger. And he's going down. He better stop worrying about impeachment and start worrying about prison.

The Dems. would be stupid trying to impeach Trump but instead they should try to come up with a candidate who can take him out of office in 2020. IMO, It would be much easier to beat him than to impeach him.

If that was true then why Trump and Putin aren't buddy buddies now?

Hi,

DF--Please stop watching Fox News. You missed the meeting in Helsinki(Sp) . Fox news didn't want you to hear how Putin said that he wanted DT to win and helped him. This was a meeting where DT fawned after Putin, but DT took a lot of flak from most everyone back home. He never criticizes Putin over anything. That meeting showed how much they love each other. The Russians helped him get elected. Your brain is sleeping.

Then why did Trump cancel the G20 meeting with Putin?
Then why didn't Obama investigate the Russians before the 2016 election? if there was Russian meddling during the 2016 election it was under Obama's watch.

Mueller dropped a bombshell before the G20 meeting. And Trump then canceled his planned meeting with Putin, do you think that is a coincidence? Some people wondered why Mueller did that, as Trump and Putin meeting in private would provide more evidence of collusion. Evidence suggests that Mueller, as a concerned patriot, would rather prevent additional damage to our country than collect additional evidence at this point.
As far as why didn't Obama do anything, the timeline of what was learned and what actions were done has previously been discussed in this thread and elsewhere if you care to look. You need to ask yourself now, if our FBI and CIA and Department of Justice are all saying foreign interference of our elections is going on, why Trump, as the president, is not acting on this intelligence. What actions has Trump taken so far? I'm waiting.

If that's the best that DF can come up with to deflect, DF knows that Trump is going down.
