So I randomly found out about a gem and mineral show in the city next to me today and went last minute.
There I found lots of sweet little gems and came home with quite the cabochon collection!
I came home with: amethyst, Smokey quartz, carnelian, black star sapphire, cat eye apatite, cat eye chrysoberyl, tanzanite, chalcedony, and an unknown pink cab that im guessing is kunzite...all in addition to this mystery gemstone.
Oh and did I mention i got all of this for $20?!?!
Hence why im thinking about going back without the fiance tomorrow
ANYWAYS,
Ive never seen a gemstone like this one. It's like a grayish yellow that almost flashes slightly blue in some lighting and unlike the photos show, a constant cat eye is seen without a flashlight/flash in person.
It is very puzzling...but im sure one of you out there would know what it is!
It's actually much prettier in person because of the un-photographable blue flash.
I had a weird gut feeling that it was like a type of cat eye spectrolite or some type of Cat eye andalusite...not an educated guess just weird intuition.
Anyone have any guesses?
