Searching for a REALLY hard to find diamond. Help?

Hey guys, I'm currently shopping for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I've actually been shopping for it for like... 5 months, but that's besides the point. I can't find a diamond that meets my super narrow specs.

She's the kind of girl who would say yes if I proposed with a ring pop. I love her more than I can possible say, and I know that she doesn't need a fancy ring or a perfect diamond. She'd be happy with anything I give her.

That's why I want her to be blown sideways by this diamond, and the ring it comes in. Deep down, there's a little girl inside her that's secretly hoping for the coolest ring she's never seen before, and I want to give it to her.

She's not a big-stone kind of girl; I'm aiming for super high quality and a little under one carat.

I know she wants lab grown, and I know she's never even THOUGHT of a colored diamond, but when I found out that lab grown diamonds can be blue without a huge price-hike, I fell in love with the idea (her favorite color is light blue).

I think I know what I want for the diamond. Here's what I'm looking for:
Lab grown
Blue or greenish blue fancy color
light or fancy intensity
Perfect cut, with 8 arrows visible through the top of the diamond
VS 1 or better, but eye clean
between 0.75 and 0.95 carats, preferable closer to 0.85

I took a night job and started working tons of overtime to save up. She thinks I've just been paying off student loans, but I have like $10,000 secretly set aside now and I want to get her the perfect ring.

What I'm trying to figure out is, how do I go about searching for a diamond like this? I've been doing a lot of google searching and emailing retailers, and so far nothing quite like this (although lots of almost-there-but-not-quite options).

Any help, advice, or perspective is appreciated. I'm pretty far along this process, but I'm still learning.

The hardest part seems to be the color and the cut; getting those exactly right is a real pain.

Thanks so much for any help.

:kiss2: that is the sweetest. someone posted before about d.nea lab diamonds that could be worth looking into. they're a lighter color than most manmade or color enhanced blue diamonds. maybe someone on these boards has first hand experience with them. there should be a forum for lab diamonds you might get more answers there.

A co-worker has a Brilliant Earth ring and it is so beautiful, I too would start there. Good luck!

I think this one is really attractive

Edit...a 3 stone with white diamonds on either side of this would be gorgeous! Or, a white halo would
also be lovely!

Ohhhh, this one is beautiful!

@MikeAndMolly24 I think this is the sweetest post I've seen on PS in a very long time. Your love for your GF is obvious and I have no doubt that you'll find the perfect stone for her. The one that tyty333 posted above is a gorgeous light blue and looks very eye-clean. I would call or e-mail Brilliant Earth and ask if they can show you the correct certificate for this stone, since the one in the listing appears to be for a different stone.

Yes, this one is lovely and the perfect light blue. It doesn’t have to be under carat does it?

You didn’t mention the type of setting you’re looking for, but if you click “add to ring” you’ll see lots of beautiful options from simple to elaborate, modern to vintage styles.
