A couple of years ago, one of my hunting buddies started using a ski pole when wading the ponds to get to the blinds. It looked like such a great way to avoid losing your balance when walking across an uneven surface that was under water that I soon followed suit. I find it incredibly useful in what were formerly awkward situations.

When I was having trouble with my hip and awaiting replacement, I started using a cane in everyday life. Even though I no longer need a cane to help me walk, when it snows or is icy, I just use it for the third leg of my balance structure.

I guarantee that if you try it, you might like it. If not, just don't do it again. ;-)

That is why hubby and I will be taking our treking poles with us to Antarctica.
I have seen single poles with camera mounts on them at REI.

I went out last weekend and took photos of more snows. The best picture of the entire shoot was the crocus that I shot when I got home. This one picture is interesting. There are a LOT of snows flying right over me as something had spooked them up from the area where they were landing. If you look closely you can see some dark specks in the background. These are more snows coming. It was endless action.

Hmm, spoke too soon. I can see the spots on my computer screen at home, but only with great difficulty now that the picture is uploaded. It is not important. I certainly did not see them while I was taking the picture, I was too excited to have all of these geese flying so close to me.

Black tipped reef shark while snorkeling in Bora Bora about 5 to 6 feet in length. Ray also on the ocean bolttom.

Giant clam, wouldn't mind having a paraiba tourmaline in these colors.

From Bora Bora to Antartica, you and Ernie sure enjoy a wonderful variety of adventures!

Please tell us more about the blue and yellow frog and the bumps on it's back. They look like they have tiny eyes, are those unhatched eggs?

Good eye Wink! Those are tadpoles on the daddy frog's back! It looks like they are smiling! He is transporting them to water. Ranitomeya imitator 'Varadero' - a type of thumbnail dart frog.

Aww thanks! I am so lucky that my hubby and kids love it all too. I know it is not everyone's cup of tea! I could not live without living things to care for in the house. We love them outside too! We love hiking and I used to be PADI certified for SCUBA diving but it has been a long time.
Any orchids lovers out there? My Zygo opened today! They smell like lilacs! 20180319_105250_HDR-1.jpg

What a wonderful sight, Wink!
I have yet to see Snow Geese and can't get over the huge numbers of these beautiful birds that travel together!
When Canada Geese fly overhead, I often find myself automatically counting them (we all have our little quirks :mrgreen2:). I certainly wouldn't be able to count the Snow Geese in your photos!

Love your Discus fish it bring me back to some good memories . I used to raise them. I got out of the Discus hobby 25 yrs ago. In 1968 I remember my step grandma bought a pair of imported wild caught green Discus for $80...:o

Yeah I remember we kept the two discus in a 50 gal tank by themselves.

In 1985 I bought some nickle size babies from a well known breeder in Florida and breed them. I gave the hobby after the birth of my daughters b/c they needed the fish bedroom.

Wow- I'd love to have orchids that smell like lilacs- my favorite flower (tree).
Here are a few photos I took in Key West this past weekend. The orchids were blooming on trees around the courtyard pool at our hotel and the butterflies and white bird were in the Conservatory. these are all basically OOC with no post processing, P2140172.jpg P2150242.jpg P2150219.jpg P2150339.jpg

Pinkjewel, I love these pictures, they are beautiful. Made me feel happy on a cold, snowy day here in NJ.
