Hi,
I was given this ring by a great aunt years ago but at the time I never asked her much about it. The stones have scratched on the face so I thought they may be early Zirconias.I will put up some pictures and hope some one can help identify its age and origin or any information about it really.
Regards

It appears to be an English origin ring prior to 1932. 15 carat gold is a rarer carat content. The English system was mainly 9ct and 18ct, with 15k as a “mid point” higher gold content in the Victorian era up to the 1930s. In the US system gold content is 10k and 14k and 18k. The white metal is Platinium and the ring stamped to reflect this. My guess is that the middle diamond was lost at some point and replaced with a glass or synthetic. The smaller stones I suspect are diamonds. A jeweler can easily test this with a Presidum gem tester. The hallmark looks like Birmingham and W would date it 1921.
And if you get a soft toothbrush with a bit of dishwashing liquid and water on it and give it a gentle scrub (particularly the underneath part) and rinse in water and let dry it will look even more beautiful.

Thank you so much, that was more information than I thought I would get. CanI ask what the Birmingham mark is I looked at mark but could not make anything from it?

Birmingham assay is an anchor.
It looks similar in shape to mine so it could be Edwardian. Possibly earlier due to lack of features like milgrain. I’m not an expert, I’m just going by what I learned when I was researching mine. I have some info at home, I’m out at the moment.

Lisa Jane here and thank you so much for your help. I think it looks more like earlier one but it doesn't have the closed backing so it is probably the latter. I saved your pin for future reference.
Does your ring have an identifiable maker mark?.

No, it has a PLAT stamp and some lettering that could be HAND or something else. I went through a Maker's Mark directory and found nothing similar.
