Can you tell which diamond is better cut/has better light performance from these pictures?

We would need pictures of each stone straight on to do a comparison and that might not be enough...do you have the GIA numbers or anything else?

The one to the left looks better but it's also not tilted like the one to the right is ~ so it could be that. To give a fair analysis ~ put them both in the same straight, head on position.

It's easier too see the arrows in the left diamond, bc the right one is rotated in the ring box. Do you have a video?

Are you asking if we can tell the difference between the two stones in real life, or asking for an opinion based on the vendor pics?

I guess I'm asking for an opinion based on "real life" looks. I know which stone has the better cut and HCA score.

Based on the pictures ~ the whiteflash one looks better to me.

What do you think?
Also, can you take more pics under different lighting. Like the worst possible?

I assume you are being serious and not sarcastic?

Is "worst" lighting just dark conditions?

Also - these 2 stones are 3 color grades apart. Can you tell which is which?

WF wins. No contest.
The other one is leaky.

Yes. I’d like to hear what you are discovering. I just mean lighting conditions in which you know your pics will not look nice.

Curious - in which pics can you see the leakage? I can't spot it with my untrained eye. One of the diamonds has a 35.5 crown / 41 pavilion

The photo from the vendor.
If you study the background color and lighting environment, it consist of white, grey, black colors.
Under the table, there is a noticeable yellow tint, meaning the stone is showing off its body color, which I assume I or lower, probably K??) due to light leakage, especially at 7:30.
Undefined contrast and noticeable leakage under/throughout the table... very typical of steep crown (35.5) and steep pavilion (41) combo. I even see some signs of digging.
No contest. Keep the WF. Sooner or later, you will be able to see the difference in person.

Thanks for the analysis, flyingpig. Believe it or not that stone is an H color. The WF stone is actually a K color! What is digging though?

Ok. I could be wrong in regards to the yellow tint and leakage under the table, since it is H colored; I don't expect to see this much tint from a H color stone. Looking at more closely, there is some yellow light from some angles. Any yellowness under the table could be because of the lighting environment or because of leakage, or a bit of both.
One thing is still clear. It is not a well cut diamond.
Here is info on digging.

Wow, thanks for the annotated photo! Very cool! Could you do a similar one for the WF pic?

Ah, I missed a few responses as I was looking at the side by side pics. I think I picked correctly.

well.. I don't see any point. It is a well cut WF in house stone.
If I were comparing these two stones in person, it will be night and day. I like the larger stone much better
But here you go...

It is a Whiteflash ACA K color VS1 stone. Thank you very much for the analysis!

I guess in posting my amateur pictures above I was having a harder time seeing a "night and day" difference between the 2 stones. Perhaps that's just because I have an untrained eye when it comes to these things....

So in these pictures I prefer the smaller of the two but in your first pictures I prefer the one on the left. I have a very untrained eye I guess

Skypie,
What is the carat weight of the smaller diamond?

The rings are obvioulsy not at the same angle so it's hard to say how much of the difference is just due to the different time, but I think I find the larger one a brighter in every picture worn the exception of the last one ?in spotlighting

The smaller diamond is a GIA XXX 1.82 carat H colored VS1.
The bigger diamond is a WF ACA 2.014 carat K colored VS2.
