Help between 2 princess diamonds please!

HI everyone,

I'm new here and just looking for a bit of advice regarding choosing between 2 princess cuts. I tentatively purchased one (the second attached) but am second guessing myself. Though to my untrained eye I definitely like it better than the other - I think. My apologies, I don't have the specs but am wondering if anyone might be able to tell be which looks better at first glance with the pics below? From what I I understand there is a high range of what is considered acceptable cut parameters with princesses, but I'm told by the diamond site both are considered within the confines of excellent cuts? Both are SI1 J.

Do you video available of these diamonds? The bottom one looks more symmetric from the photo, but videos of the diamonds in motion would be more helpful for purposes of comparing performance.

Also, I assume that the inclusions under the table don't bother you. What are the diamond dimensions?

Hi. Thank you for the response! There were videos but both did not show the whole diamond on my screen so were pretty useless :/

Dimensions of diamond 1 were depth 72.6, table 75. Measures 5.86 x 5.72. And GIA cert 2244529647, 1.20 ct

Dimensions of diamond 2 are depth 74.3, table 75. Measures 5.75 x 5.63. And GIA cert 6232737840, 1.21 ct

You are right, I don't care about completely eye clean. Clarity is the C I'm most willing to sacrifice. I have a limited budget so goya do what I gotta do

Thanks so much for looking! Must have been my phone, which is my only Internet source and not optimal. I'm relieved to hear you don't think the other diamond is impressive, though. Hoping the one I got is better! I was able to get them to send me the video for the one I purchased, but I could only link to it from the live chat. When I tried to copy and paste it in to search multiple times, the link sent me to a different diamond. I am guessing they already replaced with another diamond to the invantory number or something

Hi! I'm in Canada, and our dollar is terrrible right now - so that contributes to my really limited budget, too. About $3100 US really is the highest I can go, as that puts me at about $4000 Canadian. I know I won't get the best stone in the world with that by a long shot, but I'm hoping I can still luck out with a pretty one! I'm willing to sacrifice clarity and, to an extent, color. I am a bit color sensitive so have found J is my cut off. K, even with strong fluoro, doesn't work well with my eyes. I am a size diva so am hoping for the highest carat/spread I can get. But of course, cut is King! Any idea what I can expect to get with that budget? I'll be returning the stone I bought if it ends up being a dud - which I've an idea it might...

Would you be open to shapes other than princess cut? The a well-cut princess is not as spready (per carat) as some of the other diamond cuts.

I noticed your diamond in question is from Zoara? We got my DH's awesome wedding ring from them (ask for a discount, they'll hook you up). I also had a double row eternity ring from them for about two weeks before I sent it back and had a bigger version with specific particulars custom made at a B&M... My old Zoara ring definitely had inferior diamonds to my custom made ring and the Zoara ring turned out to be overpriced for the diamond quality. I am saying all of this to say: Be Careful and shop around to make sure you are stretching your dollar as far as it will actually go.

I'm going to post some others that are close to size/budget. They may not be "perfect" but those inclusions in your choices...ugh...deal breaker for
me. I could handle a little something off to the side but smack dab in the middle when there are other options out there???
I dont think you should limit yourself to those two stones.

I wish I was! But I tried on ring after ring in some local stores, and just keep going back to princess. They sing to my heart... it sucks that they face up so small

Wow! Thanks for taking the time to search, I really appreciate it. There are definitely some I love here! Lots of sparkle! The 1.12 has great spread for its size, which is getting me excited. Thanks again!

sure you are ok with that. You would be trading some sparkle for size. Make sure you're ok with the trade off.

So I received the diamond that I wasn't sure about. We have it in a simple wg solitaire setting and are thinking the forever setting will be Verragio. However, I am loving this diamond! It is plenty white for my eyes and seems to have lots of sparkle and scintillation. That Now I just have to decide if I should still keep searching or stick with this one
