tmt, I see no point conversing further.

I've put you on ignore.
I only mention this for the community so if they see me not respond to you, they'll understand I don't see your posts.

@Arcadian I’d never heard of d-limonene and just looked it up. It makes sense it’d clean the heck out of diamonds (removing oils, etc.) as it appears it’s citrus based. I love citrus based cleaners as well for that reason, and they smell good. Do you buy it in bulk somehow to use it for so many things? I’ve been trying to move away from aerosols and cleaners that contain tons of chemicals, and go with more natural options where possible.

I don’t like spraying anything on my ‘clean’ diamonds either except air to dry them. I’ve seen the compressed gas cans create a white fizzy liquid on occasion when using it (not even upside down), which negates the cleaning in my mind and worries me when using on electronics.

If I can buy locally I will but more often than not its Amazon.

I've just ordered a CompuCleaner on Amazon. Here, in Europe, they don't sell the 2.0 version, so I bought the Xpert one. Thank you, I was looking for something like this for a long time.

Happy to help; and I hope you find yours as useful as I have found mine! We‘ve discovered so many uses for it around the home that it gets used practically daily now for non-jewelry related tasks.

I've just received mine, I tried it after cleaning a ring but it blows black dust on the diamond. :(
Perhaps because it's new?

:oops2: I’m sorry to hear that! I have no idea, but I suppose “newness” is a possibility, and it just needs to be ‘blown out’ for a minute or two if perhaps it was sitting in a warehouse for awhile.

Mine (the 2.0 model) does not do that; it has an mesh-like air filter in the bottom/underneath that looks like it can be removed, washed/dried, and reinserted to prevent any debris from passing through the unit. If yours does as well, I’d try that ... rinse & thoroughly dry it, reinsert it, then try the unit again, but maybe test-blow it onto a damp white towel before using it on anything sensitive.

If it persists, I’d send it back as it could have been damaged (internally) during shipping, and the black dust could be something as a result of a mechanical issue that arises after air has passed through the filter.

The metro vac I have doesn't do that either, and it also has a removable/replaceable filter on the bottom.
