Yes, I get that times have changed, rather improved, on this topic.
But I found it hilarious.

Expecting today's behavior from people in the past is somewhat problematic.
ETA: In this case it prevents one from appreciating a tidbit of art from another time.

IMO the writing is smart and insightful.
The acting is spot on.

Their comments are directed towards one gay man, and not stereotyping all gay men.
IMO we owe our liberation, in part, to skits like these.
For their day, they dared to broach a then-taboo topic in a light and non-condeming way.

Humor is a funny thing.
Even today comedians can get away with joking about things that are taboo to talk about.
Humor can break the ice, and serve as the the vanguard to positive social change.
