The mail carrier delivered them today! I had a migraine so I was still in bed and bemoaning how I wouldn’t be able to make the trip to the post office when the doorbell rang. I was thinking on my way to the door that I wouldn’t have to complain - but by the time I got there, the mail lady had turned away from the door, and when I opened it she turned around, heaved a big sigh, and rolled her eyes. WTF!? Normally I am not one to care about someone giving me a little attitude figuring maybe they are having a tough day or whatever... but ON TOP of not delivering my package yesterday, when I was waiting for it??? I’m still going to have to call and complain.

But... the earrings are fantastic. Sorry for my hair, I just got out of the shower but had to put them on and take a picture before I comb or dry it, lol. It is too bad there’s no sunlight today because I bet they look great in the sun.

@missy HI Missy, to be quite honest with you I think 99.9% of people would have given up already, I think you should be good to yourself Missy and do what you can but your health and Greg's and your life needs to come first. I sincerely wish I could just say, screw it, give them up, but hell I couldn't do that, perhaps there are people you could hire or volunteers who could do cleaning and washing for you Missy? I wish I had a magic bullet.. you know we are all here for you sweetie.. I am so sorry your gums are bleeding Missy, to me that is clotting problems, are you taking vit K? You worry me :( .. thank you so much for your wonderful words and kind words about my family, I hope to see Kate next weekend, we close next Friday at 9:00 in Portland then we get Salley and head out to Brooklyn, staying at the hotel near the Manhattan bridge, can't remember the name but it's the one that gives you breakfast.. Hampton Inn. Chris has a studio apartment so he will keep Salley, I had asked my BILL to ask Danny if we could stay with them, but I never heard back so we booked the hotel.. Danny called today - apologized profusely - and said that Anne's aunt etc were going to be there and that he had to go to Jersey with oldest (step)daughter for her sports tournament but should be back Sunday afternoon, so hopefully we get a change to see Dan, Anne, and all 4 kids, the older girl's Dad has been working in DC for months and isn't around a lot so the big girls are there all the time now.. long story made short, he's an attorney and a jerk. Evan is 7 months and Autie is 6 months, they are growing! I like all of us here think your and Greg's riding is a wonderful accomplishment but we are going to get 5 inches. Good news on the nodules being stable on your thyroid girl.

@marcy a stale milky way stinks, I've had quite a few, I ate them anyway :)

@Mamabean periodontist? been there done that :) sorry you are having problems.. my LAST thank god appt with the 'team' here sucked, they were in and out in 20 minutes (4 of them) the owner came, bitch, she asked John if he'd packed all those boxes, he said of course not (of course not) Kate did as much as I did.. she and I didn't click.. they didn't clean the bathtub in the guest room, I know it's not theft, but we did have that happen way back in Austin, John's wedding band was stolen and then he lost the next one, he's on 3rd now.. I much prefer a cleaning lady/guy/service that has ME buy the cleaners, I know that I am getting more than water and I was a cleaning lady for 2 years in college so I am throwing I'm better than to be a cleaning lady shade. Hey I am afraid of dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists and endodontists, between this lot of idiots I have osteomyelitis and osteonecrosis of my jaw, probably gonna kill me, can't get my shoulder replaced till God knows when etc.. I get my teeth cleaned 2x a year and have to pay 140.00$ dollars out of pocket for the dentist to come in and say: looks good.. yeah looks good you moron, so I thought I was such a smartie ass and refused to have the dentist look at my mouth and I ended up with periodontal disease, so I pay now.. cleanings are great but they can hurt too - I'm at the point where I want to be knocked out and do all the stuff you have to do and wake me up.. used to be good with pain, but dental pain is a new kind of pain only experienced by me on occasion as a younger person, we're buds now me and pain in the mouth.Talk about War and Peace :) I understand why the miligrain bothers you on your setting, your setting is modern looking and the miigrain is very old school. You need to do what is best for your mind.

@Scandinavian I want your husband and NOW! how wonderful he just says if you want it get my dear! he - I am sure - loves you very much.. looking forward to seeing pix of your new halo and I hope your mother is comfortable.

@bling_dream19 happy belated birthday and what a gorgeous ring.. love the Blue Ridge Mtns my brother and sil live near there..

@junebug17 Hi Junie, how's your weather? how's your girl and how are you? are you going to SC soon? xoxo

@Calliecake so hope your mouth is feeling okay..teeth, the bane of pain.. Callie, new boots? Christmas dresses! sounds good your way, glad you were just having normal dental work done. I cannot and will not allow people to take my America Callie, if someone can prove me wrong and show me why then I'm fine and admit it, but selfishness is what is is - selfish :).. hope all is going well weather wise with you! we are getting sleet tonite supposedly, ugh..

@Austina Hi!!! I too agree, NIRDIs are friends forever, friends who lend an ear, don't judge, listen and try to help, I cannot say in my life that I have had tons of friends who have done that.. tomorrow I'm going out to lunch with my high school friend to say goodbye and tell her to visit in Texas, she will I know because she loves winter and she loves summer.. gonna miss her.. look forward to December Austina! I think that as we age sleep is more elusive, I wake up at 1:30 or 4:00 am and go into the guest room, turn on the TV and fall asleep again.. I don't get enough exercise or do enough of anything... not saying you don't exercise etc because I know you do, it's our bodies way I guess of saying WAKEUP! :) do you know or have you said when Adam is marrying? I think you said they are moving it to '21? I've not kept up very well lately, hope to as this move thing slows down.. Glad very glad to read Colin is feeling up to par Austina, good news..

@distracts wow your earring are gorgeous.. I love yellow gold I've decided, used to not like it in the 80s when I had a ton of us, I guess I missed it, but your stones and gold look BEAUTIFUL!

@missy again! so happy to read that your dad is doing well.. sending love your way.

@canuk-gal sending a great big hug your way! xoxo

@Slick1 Hey, hope all is well down your way!

okay I hope I've caught up a bit - weather cold tonight and possible sleet so I'm wearing my granny pj to bed.. it's WARM..

hugs to all the NIRDIs.

Hi NIRDI’s! I hope all of you are having a great day.

Missy, wishing your dad a speedy recovery. If you must eat 2 dishes of ice cream that close together, you must. It would be like training and getting substance for the ride home. You did have a gorgeous day to cycle yesterday. Nice. It is nice to build some muscles.

Austina, Marty was able to sign a request to be excused from jury duty the rest of this session. It was a quick trial for sure. I don’t know if NN will decide to quit; Marty thinks I should tell her you aren’t making any progress so either the next 30 days is exemplary or you are gone; however our HR guy and my boss don’t think I should do that. She definitely has been a hinderance to the team the entire 8 years she worked for me. She has survived this long because she has some pluses that pulled up her scores. If she didn’t have a reputation for being nasty and negative they would probably move her to a job that wasn’t as critical to be accurate. I do feel like I am getting stronger. Sorry putting up new lights out front was such a chore; we always find projects are more involved than expected.

Distracts, pretty earrings. Glad you got them okay today.

Kate, I know - when you eat a Milky Way it should be fresh and delicious. Nice to get together with your dear friend. I hope she comes and visits you in Texas.

We ordered pizza for supper. I didn’t see myself doing dishes. Poor Marty has a bad pain in one of his arms. He is a typical guy - he doesn’t want to talk about it, take some aspirin or Advil, and doesn’t want to hear me trying to make him feel better by saying as hard as you push yourself you are bound to have some push back from your body.

Tomorrow is Friday. Woo hoo!!! I have Monday off so I’ll have a long weekend. We hope to have clear skies so we can watch Mercury transit the Sun.

Take care.
Marcy

I’m so happy your dad is doing well @missy. Hopefully he will be well enough to go home tomorrow. Your family must be so relieved to have the surgery over and know he is doing well.

@junebug17 , Have a great time with your friends and enjoy the play. Did your appointments go well today?

@marcy, Your chicken comment was too funny. I love you sense of humor Marcy. Are you nervous driving the truck? It looks so much bigger than your Macan. I hope Marty’s arm begins to feel better and he listens to you about push back from your body. It certainly doesn’t get easier as you get older. Things hurt for a much longer period of time.

@Tekate, Have a good time with your friend tomorrow. Do you think she will come out to visit you in Texas? Are you feeling ok about the move? I know you are excited to be near Mike, Cara and Autie but it still has to be hard leaving people you care about in Maine. We have to hope enough people feel the way we do and he gets voted out. I hope your mouth pain is beginning to improve.
I’m sorry you are having to deal with this Kate.

@Austina , I tried OTK boots on a few years ago. I felt like I was too short and too old for them. I’d love to be tall with long legs, unfortunately that is not my reality. I’ve been buying ankle boots. Great news that Colin is almost back to normal. Putting the new lights up sounded like a pain in the neck. You must be glad to have that project over. When is your next trip to Austin?

@districts, The new earrings are beautiful. I hope you are feeling better.

@Mamabean, I hope all is going smoothly with the prep work for the weekend. Your brunch is going to be wonderful. Do you have any idea how long it will take to fix your ring? Please make sure you get it exactly like you want it.

@canuk-gal , When will you be getting your new jewelry? LOL on the gray hair. Be thankful you have a full head of beautiful hair.

@Scandinavian , I hope you mom is doing well.

@av and @daisyanddiamonds, I hope all is well with you.

Nothing much going on here. I spent the day trying to track down a dress with a glitter unicorn on it for one grand niece and a certain type of head bows and outfits for my other nieces. I should probably start thinking about Christmas shopping for them too. It is so much fun having little ones in the family to spoil.

Kate, you are a bright light for me and so many others. I read your words and I feel such an overwhelming sense of gratitude that you are in my life. I cannot express adequately how much your friendship means to me. You are real and true and such a warm loving kind generous individual. We are so lucky. Your family is so lucky. Thank you dear Kate the great. And please hug Autie and Katie and Danny and Chris and John and everyone from me and Greg. From my heart to yours...XOXOXOXO.

Good luck with your closing next Friday and safe travels to Brooklyn next week. Say hi to Brooklyn from me lol. I hope you get to see Dan and Anne and all 4 kids that Sunday afternoon. And hope the snow melts soon if it does accumulate to 5". Oy to snow. No to snow. Though the kids they do love the snow so it's not all bad. (((Hugs))).

Sharon, Hmmm yes I think you are right. Or perhaps your hair is just thick and lovely and not thinning like mine. I guess the one good thing about thinning hair is that it doesn't give me headache because it weighs too much lolol. I am letting my hair go gray all the way too but so far it just is that ugly in between gray and won't cooperate. Oh well what else is new haha. Gray (hair) is the new winter white right? Hope you have a lovely Friday on tap and enjoy a wonderful weekend and stay warm and cozy. XOXOXO.

Tomorrow is Friday. Woo hoo!!! I have Monday off so I’ll have a long weekend. We hope to have clear skies so we can watch Mercury transit the Sun.

Woohoo you have a long weekend off wonderful ! Hoping you get those clear skies to watch Mercury transit the sun. Very exciting.

Aww, hope Marty is feeling better. Yum to pizza for dinner. And yay to no dishes. And double yay to no more jury duty for Marty. He lucked out. Thanks for all your warm wishes for my dad and the cats and everyone here. You're a dear Marcy. XOXOXO.

@Austina we are part of a very special OTK boot club. I have to say you look amazing in OTK boots. Born to wear them for sure. How is Colin feeling? I hope with each day he is feeling stronger and better and all is going well by you. (((Hugs))).

@bling_dream19 so exciting your big day is coming up! Please share your joy and updates if you feel like it. Love hearing all about the happy news.

@AV_ hope you have a lovely weekend planned. (((Hugs)))

@Slick1 hope you have a great weekend planned and that today goes quickly for you. XOXO.

@Daisys and Diamonds hope you are feeling well and that Gary is also feeling well. Thinking of you all including Melanie and hoping life is treating you kindly. (((Hugs))).

@Scandinavian how are you doing dear? How is your mother doing? I imagine she is thrilled to be home again as are you. Hugs to all of you.

@Mamabean so much fun this weekend with your brunch. Wish we were all there with you. The dishes you are preparing sounds so yummy. Hope your ring is waiting for you safe and sound. Sending big hugs and love to you and may the weekend go smoothly.

@distracts I just want to say again how lovely the Yvonne earrings are on you. Just beautiful. Hope you have a fun weekend in store.

We had a great ride yesterday but I missed the coat delivery oh well. So Greg will pick it up today if Fed Ex doesn't mess up the directions to leave it at a store nearby for pick up. I hate signature only deliveries with a passion. Jimmy was so chatty yesterday and we missed the delivery back home by just 10 minutes. Oy. Anyway it's way too cold to cycle today (high of 40 and wind gusts of 30 plus mph so no bueno for cycling) so will just workout here and after cleaning and all that other fun stuff (Fred gets shampooed today again) we will go out for a bit just to get out of the house. It's important for my mood to get outside every day. I have Seasonal disorder and the short days bring me way down. But you lovely ladies pick me up every single time.

Speaking of pick me ups here is our ice cream from yesterday. Yummmmmm.

Screen Shot 2019-11-08 at 5.33.31 AM.png

and it was cloudy all day yesterday with a hint of pink in the sky. Speaking of pink @Scandinavian when will your delicious pink halo be ready? Swoon to pink diamonds
It was a cool cycling day yesterday mainly because of the cloud cover and winds but I managed to stay warm and cozy in my new cycling outerwear.

Happy FriYAY!!! I love the beach pic with pink Missy! Dress fitting went great yesterday, I have 2 more fittings and it's done. Ok so I would love major dust today. The venue my FI and I really loved is now saying they cant do a small wedding, like 20 people. They are only saying 60 people minimum. They've told me this over the phone on Wed. I've actually been sick with no voice since last Wed. I'm just tired and a little overwhelmed. I'm following along with everyone and my heart is with each of you and I hope everyone forgives the lack of responding. I'm going to the venue today to clarify they are for sure denying our small wedding. If they are, then we will go with another venue that we visited 2 weeks ago or choose a place closer to my family. Ahh its complicated. I'm heading to visit my college friend of 23 years this weekend and took off of work today and the 2 venues are on the way. I'm getting packed up and hoping all will work out. Thank you everyone for being there for me and helping. My fi wants small wedding with just his sisters, however his nieces threw us an engagement dinner. It was so very kind and generous but we were so newly engaged and so happy and hadn't started wedding planning. And I absolutely adore his nieces who are close to my age. So I feel it's only proper to invite them. It turns the wedding into the 50s but again one never knows who will accept the invite, especially being close to Christmas and have to travel 4 hours. My fi is not even sure his sisters will drive. And we've decided not to do the wedding close to them for other reasons. I'd rather invite everyone so no one is mad but he says no one will be mad and that we will take everyone to very nice dinner in the spring at a restaurant close to them. Any thoughts? Basically, wedding w my immediate family and fi sisters and spouses or open it up all to nieces and nephews knowing most likely they won't attend due to travel? No need to respond, I know you are all busy. I am open to feedback. I hope everyone has a wonderful FriYAY! Oh here is our cake topper, when my fi saw the bling he said oh this is you! We have the server too but I dont have pic.

Awww @bling_dream19 I’m sending major dust your way and hope the venue you love allows your small intimate wedding. And feel better sweetie!!!

I don’t know what is best re invites. Follow your heart. People can be funny if left out of special occasions. Even if they cannot make it many still want the invite.
I’d rather err on the side of inviting those you think want to be included just so no one one’s
feelings get hurt. Especially family.

Lurking NIRDI alert! Despite the challenges of life, I hope everyone is having a decent Fall day!
Um...for Marcy, I mean happy winter!
And, Missy, it seems you will be
getting some arctic temps as well??
And, Austina, are you getting that awful deluge of rain at your place? 4D910A9F-1A66-412E-9809-08889F8CA127.jpeg
A nice fall day here, but chilly enough to stay in. Thus the lurking : )

This is why I love autumn. Despite it bringing colder temps and shorter days one cannot deny it's beauty.

ohhhh I love these pictures! We don't get autumn in Texas - we slam right from summer into winter, and the trees go from green to leafless. The colors are so pretty!

Winter is starting here today! Snow! I love snow :)
My mother is ok all things considered but in quite a bit of pain. I have been exercising the dogs today as their weekend will be a bit boring with me oiling the floors lol. Will take pictures tomorrow! But now - a shower. 15 years today since I officially started dating my DH :) so pizza and red wine for dinner - got to keep up the traditions lol
Hugs!

Hello lovelies

No real help @bling_dream19, but I learned from my own wedding, that the best thing is to please yourself, because you are NEVER going to please everybody. Good luck with sorting our your venue, I hope you find the perfect place. Have fun this weekend with your friend.

I’m not surprised your mother is in pain @Scandinavian, she’s had major surgery and I’m sure it’ll take time before it subsides. Have fun this weekend celebrating your 15th dating anniversary.

Hi @Jimmianne - fortunately we’re not affected by the heavy rain and flooding, we’re much further south, but it’s cold, it’s feeling very wintery here. I hope you’re feeling OK and have got some of your problems sorted out.

Those photos could’ve been taken here @missy! I hope Greg managed to collect your coat and it’s turned out to be what you wanted. I know what you mean about getting outside, we’re going for walks everyday, it’s not the same without Dottie, can you believe it’s been 6 weeks  ? How’s your Dad, I hope he’s recovering well and feeling comfortable after the surgery? Is he at home yet, or will they be keeping him in for a little while? Sending lots of healing vibes for him across the ocean.

Yay to a long weekend @marcy, and good news that Marty doesn’t have to do any more jury service. It’s really difficult getting rid of staff here, even if they are useless, I’m afraid we’re becoMing more of a litigious society, where everyone thinks it’s someone else’s fault. I think we’re in for a lot of rain this weekend, so I doubt the skies will be clear enough to see anything, in fact, it was quite foggy this morning.

So glad your earrings arrived safely @distracts, well worth the wait, they look lovely on you.

We’re flying to Austin on the 5th December @Calliecake, then flying to LA the following day to pick up a cruise along the West Coast, and back to Austin on the 14th. We’ll be going to see Shirley for a couple of days, then the rest of the time we’ll be in Austin, leaving on the 29th December. We’ll hopefully be introducing Bella to Ever at sometime while we’re there too :D Honestly, if I hadn’t seen how good Missy looks in OTK boots, I wouldn’t have given them a try. I’m certainly not willowy or tall, or young come to that, so you are definitely NOT too old to try them. I was lucky that I got both pairs at bargain prices, the benefit of having pixie sized feet

Still no date on the wedding @Tekate, just a vague sometime in 2021  Honestly, I wish they’d just get on with it:D I’ve never slept well, I think the last time I slept all night was when I was a child so I can’t blame age. Just recently I keep thinking I can hear Dottie, although I can only remember her getting us up at night a handful of times when she was here.

I wouldn’t know about grey hair @canuk-gal , my auburn hair is totally natural :liar::silenced::lol:

I hope you’re having a good visit with your friends @junebug17.

Apart from going out for a walk today, we haven’t really done much. Both had hair appts, that’s about it. When we went out this morning, a little foxy was in our front garden.

Nothing planned for the weekend, apart from wrangling another light, please send good thoughts that this one doesn’t prove to be so awkward :roll::lol:

Happy FriYay NIRDI’s :wavey:

that is worth having cold winters for ! absolutly beautiful - i have to add 6 months on my head to know what time of the year it is !!
the thing i miss most about 'down home' is autumn. we just never got enough frost in Wellington and leaves just turned brown ...and not even a nice brown
thank you always for your kind thoughts, and of course right back at you.
i again have so much catching up to do. we had the power go out last night im the kitchen and are waiting on the sparkly to come back with a new RCD for the metre box Ironically its the newest electrical work in the house that is faulty... meanwhile its cereal or fruit in this house. although we have run a lead from the laundry to the microwave and to Gary's PC (of course) and im making cups of tea in the lounge with the jug plugged in where i usually charge my cell phone.
meanwhile heavy rain is forcast for tomorrow so im running around fertilizing the garden and woundering if we should plant the tomatos before or after the rain ....

best wishes to all you lovelly sparkly ladies out there in PS land

Good morning girls and happy Caturday Saturday to all of you lovely lasses.

Aww I am sorry about your mom's pain. That is so hard to manage. Praying she is getting relief from the pain and feeling better with each passing day. I hope the doctors gave her meds to stay on top of managing the pain. Hugs to her.

Snow! We might be getting some too. We shall see. Yesterday it was in the 30s most of the day but wind chills were in the 20s. Too cold for my sensitive internal thermometer.

Happy dating anniversary dear Scandi. Isn't it scary how fast time goes? Hope you enjoyed pizza and red wine for dinner. Hugs.

Sounds like a lovely way to spend the weekend. Relaxing and perhaps a walk or two. Good luck with that light. Good thoughts being sent. Speaking of hair I am in need of desperate help in that department. I have no one here to cut my curly hair and it's been a very long time since I had it cut. It's always up in a bun or ponytail. Not the most attractive. Glad some (most) of the NIRDIs are keeping well coiffed. Oh I love foxes. How sweet one was in your garden Austina. Nice you are visiting Shirley on your next trip and I hope that goes well. December will be here before we know it. I am so glad you love the OTK boots. They are very smart and sophisticated.

As for it being 6 weeks since Dottie died yes. It is mind boggling how much time has passed and yet it seems like yesterday too. It's hard to explain but for me it feels like Francesca was just here yet at times it seems eons ago what we went through trying to save her that last week she was alive. I am still bawling my eyes out every single day. I cannot control my emotions over her. Right before we went sunglass shopping I was crying in the car and then had to go out with a red nose. I have no control over my tears. They just overwhelm me at any time. Sending you love and hugs and I understand your wide range of emotions and how deep a loss it is for you. Dottie was special just like Francesca. I get that. And I understand what a deep abyss that loss feels like. Gentle hugs across the many miles dear Austina.

Dear Daisy, yes, I too would miss autumn. It is breathtakingly beautiful indeed. Oy to your power going out. I really loathe that when it happens here. We have a generator but I am always on edge for the first few minutes before the generator kicks in after we lose power. Stay warm and dry in the rain tomorrow and yummy to planting tomatoes.

Haha yes happy winter indeed. It is quite chilly here and we are debating if we can go riding this AM. Greg votes no but I am thinking about it. I so want to hit 8K but we have at least 3 long cycling rides left to hit that mark and the weather does not seem to be cooperating.
How are things going by you sweet Jimmianne? Hope everything is going smoothly and sending hugs your way.

ohhhh I love these pictures! We don't get autumn in Texas - we slam right from summer into winter, and the trees go from green to leafless. The colors are so pretty!

@distracts you are invited here anytime (after RW gate that is) and any season you are welcome. Would love to show you around. The Jersey Shore is a beautiful place and has sea and trees and sand and green and all the beautiful colors. Each season has something special to offer. I know each state/city/town has something special and when I travel I am always in awe of the different kinds of beauty all around. Alaska was one of my favorite trips with spectacular scenery but each place has its own unique characteristics that make it beautiful.

Oh @distracts by the way, Stuart Weitzman 2020 collection is available for pre order! I just got their email and OMG they have some beautiful boots. I literally have 40 pairs at least so I must resist. Ohhh emmm geee I LOVE boots. LOL. Please let me know when your newest boots arrive or did they already? I cannot keep track. But very excited for all the OTK boot PSers.

I agree Missy. I would rather invite all and then theres no chance of hard feelings. Thanks for your input and for dust! Hugs to you friend.

Dear @bling_dream19 I am thrilled for all the happy things coming up for you and big hugs to you as well. Please keep us posted on the planning and hoping it all goes super smoothly for you. Have a wonderful visit with your college friend this weekend. Sounds like so much fun. And I LOVE your cake topper.

@canuk-gal good morning! I hope you have a lovely weekend. And stay warm and cozy. Hugs.

@marcy hope your weather has warmed up and you have a fun weekend on tap. Any baking lately? XO

@AV_ hello there. Enjoy a wonderful weekend. XO

@Slick1 thinking good thoughts for you and any upcoming procedures and I hope you enjoy a marvelous weekend. Sending you warm hugs.

@Tekate how are you doing dear girl? Kate the very great. Sending you big hugs and hoping your weekend goes well and that things proceed smoothly. Lots of good things are happening but they are stressful I know. Hoping the good outweighs any mishaps and that all goes as planned. And I hope you are feeling well and strong and not in any pain. (((HUGS))).

So yesterday I did more helping of our economy haha. I bought yet another pair of RX sunglasses. I LOVE them. Funky and fun.

I got these in navy. Wish I looked like her but oh well. I forgot to take a photo of me wearing them darn. But here you go. Aren't these fun? There are more pairs I covet but I bought 6 pairs of RX glasses over the past 6 weeks so I must restrain myself. LOL. Greg is such a dear to humor me and not get upset with me buying so much stuff.
maisiesunglasses.jpeg

Speaking of purchases my coat was picked up by Greg last night. I LOVE that too. I was hoping I wouldn't because it was a lot more money than I wanted to spend on yet another winter coat. I have too much stuff. But I am feeling anxious and stressed about RW and Greg's upcoming surgery and other health issues so shopping helps quiet my nerves. Though I know it is not a sustainable treatment.

Yesterday was super chilly. Wind chills in the 20s F. Brrrrrrrrr. Today is still cold (40s) but less windy. Not sure if we can manage a cycling day or not. Greg votes no so while it is up to me I don't tolerate the cold as well as Greg does so not sure what my vote will be. I hope everyone has a great Caturday Saturday and warm hugs to all of you.

And one day...

Screen Shot 2019-11-09 at 5.37.25 AM.png

But not just yet...

Happy Caturday Saturday! Meooow.

Ollie the Jersey shore cat
Its ok Tinky moewed with a Jersey accent
Gary talked to Melanie
things are not quite as dire as his sister made out - poor Mel must have been just having a really bad time
she has had a thingy put in her chest ? because they have so much trouble sticking neadles in her ??? anyway that got infected but she's on antibiotics. she said the chemo this time around is knocking her around much more than last time
Gary is much happier in himself, tonight he even cooked tea - we ran a lead to the sandwhich press !
the sparky didn't turn up and didn't answer the phone - i mean honestly hopefully nothing happened to him ?
tomorrow im going to do ribbs in the slow cooker and serve it with apple slaw and hash browns via the sandwhich press because i doubt the electrician will come out on a sunday
if only we knew which moving box had the camping gear !
i was too chicken to have a cold shower- i poured some hot water from the electric kettle into a few inches of cold bath water
it didn't help much but it got quite comfortable after the inital shock like swimming in the sea and im clean

@Scandinavian I'm so sorry your mum is in pain, that's not good at all and its not fare. Melanie was in hospital a week before they got a pain specialist up from the hospice to help her, i hope your mum gets some releaf from her pain soon

I have the same problem figuring the temps out in Celsius. What a pain. My brain won't convert. Just found a chart that might be helpful for those of us who are interested.

temperature-conversion-table-celsius-fahrenheit-metric-system-245x461.png

Glad Gary is feeling better and same for Melanie. When our loved ones are doing OK all feels right in the world. Conversely when they are not doing well the world feels a dark and cold place. At least for me. Hoping good days continue Daisy dear. Like you I cannot bear cold showers. I think that might be called a port that Melanie has. Hope the infection clears quickly. Those are serious.

some medical proffesionals just do not have the knack for taking blood from some people

yes life is definatly less dark when nearest and dearest are well
if i could just find a job - i mean a nice good job would be awsome but im starting to get slightly desperate so almost anything will do at least for a while

Can you remind me what you are interested in re working? Have you considered working with animals? While you are looking for a paying job perhaps think about volunteering with homeless animals? Sometimes when I am stressed and need to get out of my head doing for others helps me do just that. It gets my mind off my troubles and gets me out of my head which is a welcome break. And working to make the life of others better helps me in kind. They say there really is no such thing as a purely altruistic deed and I agree as helping others always seems to benefit those providing the help as well. If that makes sense.

thank you missy
two reasons i need to get back to work
property taxes are killing me
and i need to make friends
now that Gary is doing better i should be able to leave him at home
he is retired and im piggy backing on his government pension
i teally can't quite live on it but ive learnt some valuable budgeting lessons and i should be able to save well with a full time hon even if its ..
gulp ... minimum wage
i want to go back to what i know because i have an old house that needs renovation. my old job was a wee bit too stressful - i worked on the desk in a timber yard - i did enjoy it and i was good at it
but id like to go back to selling paint
its interesting and its not too heavy
there were temporary summer jobs going in the big box hardwear store that was my old employers opposition
i just felt dread when i walked in the door
.....although it did have aircon
one day i would like to work at the jewlers- sell pretty things and stay clean
i need to be proactive but its been 15 years since ive had a cv - everything has changed
i know no one on this town
id rather not have to work with money - for 3 years i was actually the cashair at my old big box hardwear store but it was so stressful and that job is mostly done by a machine now
but right now id try working in a supermarket- they are big and clean and have lots of workers to make friends with but i know I'd get bored, but then if it pays my property taxes ...
the minimum wage here is high enough to live on as our morgage repayments arnt that high split 2 ways - more than half our old rent
ive always worked either in garden centres or in hardwear stores
7 day a week bussiness
i have no formal qualifications,

i did think about volunteering at the SPCA but there is actually plenty of things i should be doing at home
im.not quite sure how to word my 'gap year' in a cv
i didn't get the sack i just never got a transfer
once the minimum wage went up the company i worked for seemed to have a policy of managing people out of the bussiness who had been there a while as i was on reasonable money (just not enough to have a Wellington morgage)
i don't understand why everything just got so hard
moving here was surposed to make life better
i stayed at my old job too long - trouble was on a good day i actually enjoyed it but there were way too many bad days but i kind of got trapped because i was on a reasonable hourly rate (i thought)
anyway im sorry, this is borring
id love to work in a record shop but they don't blinkin' well exist any more ! something i could be passionate about
i think i can do that with paint
this entire town needs a paint - i think everybody is broke or they have a landlord that doesn't care
and this town has lots of older houses, something bad must have happened here to the economy, there are entire decades missing in housing styles
but people have all diffetent kinds of fences, all different coloured roofs and houses and lots of art deco crying out for sympathetically outragouse paint jobs
all the new houses we supplied at my old job were just grey with white kitchens and bathrooms

sorry to ramble
