im so glad ive discovered this thread just in time to enjoy all the happiness that radiates out from an upcoming wedding :appl: @bling_dream19
@canuk-gal can totally relate to (semi) retirement men
i do desperately need to get back working just to get some personal space - not that its not wounderful to be at home together - im pretty sure you know what i mean
@Scandinavian best wishes for your mum's surgery tomorrow
and dear missy hope all is calm and contented at your house under the circumstances
if you ever want a walk in all that bad weather i know the perfect soundtrack

im really looking forward to getting to know you all, im a bit starved for friendship right now (another reason i need to find a job)
but im shy so i intend to hang back a bit as i catch up on all your happenings

very blustery here today - bits of new growth from the roses all over the place
but our wisteria is protected between the garage and the fence so we can still see spring

best wishes to everyone

GM girls!

Hi @junebug17 hope you are enjoying a lovely week and enjoying your beach house. XO

@Scandinavian sending your mom bucketloads of good luck dust for her surgery today! Thinking of you and her and praying the surgery goes well. You are a good darling daughter and I am so glad you have good friends nearby. I wish we could be there for you in person but we are there in spirit and sending so many good vibes to you and your mom. Big (((hugs))).

@bling_dream19 thank you so much and right back at ya. You are such a wonderful person and I am so happy things are going well. And super excited about your wedding plans and all that good stuff. Just how life should be. Sending you lots of hugs. Hope you have a wonderful day today. And fwiw I love the glam. Bring it on! XO

@rainwood I hope you had a great trip. Cannot wait to catch up. I am taking deep breaths still. See? I do listen. XO

@canuk-gal beautiful weather. Sweet. And sorry about your dh and semi retirement taking some getting use to. My mom felt that way when my dad retired. He was always underfoot. I know it was challenging for her and they have a great marriage. Good luck. I am sure it will work itself out. Gorgeous photo Sharon. :kiss2: Hugs.

@Daisys and Diamonds we are so glad you are here. You are a delight and I am sorry you are starved for friendship but we are here for you. Just wish we lived closer. How can I not love you? You love NYC and the Jersey Shore and it is refreshing to have someone here who actually likes the USA. I know our President is not a good man but it hurts to think so many hate us because of who our President is. But I digress. You are always welcome here and I do hope you will post and share with us and hope it brings you comfort and joy being here. (((Hugs))).

@AV_ hope you caught up on things and are sleeping well. That is still elusive for me and I was awake from midnight to 3 AM but was able to go back to sleep for about 2 hours which for me at that time of morning is amazing. Anyway hope all is well and that you are getting things under control. XO

@Austina glad Adam and Kim are there and you are enjoying their visit. Say hello from Greg and me please and all our best to Colin. Hope he is feeling much better today and each day. XO

We had a productive day yesterday. It rained but not too bad until later in the evening when we were already back home after running errands. We fed the cats in the AM (always challenging now) and gave the cats their meds, cleaned the entire house, did laundry all day long and I also worked out and then took a nice long bath. In the afternoon we went to get my glasses adjusted and then went to Costco and Whole Foods and then back home where we relaxed with the kitties after putting everything away. A very (not) exciting day but just how I like it. No excitement is good. Let's hope it stays that way. I don't love how short the days are now and will be getting shorter for another 2 plus months. This is the most difficult time of year for me as the days are getting shorter and shorter. It gets dark here so early in the evening now.

Today Greg is heading into the city to work. So I will be here all alone. With the kitties. I don't care for being alone at the beach house. It's different than the Brooklyn home but I will be OK. Just going to be a long day for me I think.

Have a lovely day girls and I will check back. @Scandinavian if you can and have the energy to let us know how your mom's surgery is going please do. Thinking of you and her and we are all sending good thoughts her way. Hugs to all of you lovely ladies. XOXO.

Austina, how lovely that Adam and Kim are there!

Missy, I hope you enjoy your day and are not too lonely with Greg in the city. It must seem a little too quiet with him away.

I found someone I trust to clean out my basement. What a relief.
My young friends who live in the farm are expecting their baby within the week. Amazing that there will soon be a newborn on the farm!

One of the highlights of my six month experiment to live in France was helping with the harvest. We worked in the rain and were soaked through but it was a very happy time. I only worked a day, but everyone else in the photo cut grapes for three weeks!

What a gorgeous place to be @Jimmianne and how amazing that is your home. And speaking of homes I am so glad you found someone to help you get everything in working order. What a relief indeed!

Hello lovelies

I hope the surgery went well today for your Mum and she’s now comfortable and recovering. Thank you for your kind words, @Scandanavian, I like to think all our dogs are young and painfree again when they leave us, and running around chasing squirrels to their hearts content.

Thank you @rainwood, it’s been 3 weeks today, and we miss her presence very much.

Great pic @canuk-gal, the weather looks great there.

I’m so glad you found someone to come and clean up the cellar @Jimmianne , I hope you‘re feeling a bit better today.

Glad you got all your errands done yesterday, but boo to Greg having to go in to the city today. Hopefully he’ll be back soon so you’re not alone for too long. It’s dark here by 6pm now, the days are just getting shorter and shorter.

I hope you’re having a great time in SC @junebug17 , so you have anything planned while you’re there?

Hi @Daisys and Diamonds just jump right in, we don’t bite :D

How’s your week going @AV_?

Hope work wasn’t too bad today @marcy, only one more day to go till the weekend

We went out and did the food shopping today and met a lady we know and her Spinone, Otti. He’s a lovely boy, also a rescue that she has as her assistance dog. It was nice to pat a dog again.

Colin’s doing better, still very bruised and not in so much pain. We’re going to our friends’ daughter’s wedding tomorrow, so I won’t be around. I sorted out what I’m going to wear last night, and remembered I had a light champagne/gold coloured jacket that goes with it perfectly if it’s cold and gold and black shoes.

Jimmianne, Thank goodness you have found someone to take care of the basement for you!
missy, you attended a trooper, you will be fine! But I get the feeling. Being together is better than being apart.
Austina, they are. Either in their hearts or for real. And also in ours. That is doubles running duty. Oh! And! Amazing dress!!
One of my friends had to put down their 1.5 year old dog last week due to epilepsy attacks. The world is a hard place.
Chanuk - hello !!

Excuse typos. Wrong spell check language.
Re my mom:
The surgery went as well as could be I think. So step one completed. So now we wait again. If there is no canaer in the lymph nodes, there will be another surgery in a couple of weeks. Sigh. My mother is very worried. For now, I’m back at the hotel. Hugs.

HI:

I felt like Pooh Bear--in our blustery day! Made for a challenging ride--but better a short ride than none at all. Speaking of bikes, going to check out new ones tonight.

Shout out to NIRDI's. Hugs and healing vibes to those who are in need.

cheers--Sharon

@Austina I hope you are doing okay...That must have been sad that the cat came up to the glass to visit...The way you described her coming up to the glass looking for Dottie made me tear up. I wonder if she will. I wonder if she will come back again.
Your dress is lovely for the wedding. That’s great that Colin is feeling well enough to go to the wedding...I’ve made that mistake..feeling a bit better and overdoing...I hope he feels better after his rest.
How nice that Adam wants to stay a little longer. Was he able to change his flight?
@Callicake Thank you for thinking about me. Chris seems to be doing well. I visited him today. He asked me to bring him Goldfish crackers and low sugar granola bars. He’s very conscious of his diet and carbs..so was very surprised he asked for them. He is underweight so he could use some weight...
I just had to stop this post because I had to go turn off David’s movie...Out of the corner of my eye I saw a snake! On my carpet in the rec room basement! Omg! My husband is at least an hour away at least..and I’m not sure what kind it is or how to get him!

@Scandinavian Of course worry is not good for anything. I am glad to hear that you can toss worry aside, more or less. Fingers crossed!

@missy 3 AM is the best time of the day, ain't it! I couldn't possibly keep trying to sleep, so here I am with honey, sauer milk & NIRDI. I wish I knew why it works for me to be by myself - although it hasn't always been this way; possibly a habit from wok since it is mostly between me & some paper, even if I am taking it to the village square or anywhere else; the people I work with tend to be remote too.

@Jimmianne Happy to hear about the grape harvest! Will you be involved in any way with the impending birth?
There might not be any better way to 'keep' two houes accross the Pond, except having a horde of cleaners gothrough them - before you. I recall closing my old house, with sheets over everything; quite some exercise!

Don't I always promisse to catch up?

@Mamabean I do not know snakes well enough to handle them here, so I do not. There is a number to call for this here.

Back home, I would broom the big ones into a bucket, but there were no dangerous kinds around to worry about; some youngsters were tame - no hissing at me, they'd be curious & fun to play with & feed milk.

Hi NIRDI’s!

BlingDream, I think you are doing great making decisions for your wedding. Sounds like you’ll be picked a wedding date soon. Wedding planning is a lot of fun! Thank you, I keep telling people if I can lift; anyone can do it. Nice that they are going to remake the pink eternity band for you. I really like it with your ring. How fun to get a white winter wrap; I can picture you wearing that dripping in diamonds like a movie star.

Hi Daisys and Diamonds. How are you doing? I do get what you mean about too much togetherness at home. We used to have a small camping trailer and we could sure get on each other’s nerves over a long weekend in that. We heard a news story that a couple sold everything, quit their jobs and moved to the dessert to live off the land and live in a trailer that size. I looked at Marty and said; if we did that one of us would be dead and the other one would be in jail - and I’m not sure which one of us would be in jail.

Missy, I think I’ll take my pendant in and get another diamond put in it and ask them to check all the prongs. I guess if I lose another diamond I will have them take the pendant off the bracelet. Good plan to have the great surgeons there take care of my knees; at least I know Greg will be in good hands. I don’t remember what I said earlier but I wouldn’t have grilled cheese and PB together; but grilled PB sandwiches are quite tasty too. I often have PB on toasted english muffins. Your picture does show the perfection of the jersey shore. So peaceful looking. I am sorry the vet’s office is frustrating you. I totally get it. RW go away!!! NOW!! Darn that Greg had to go in to work today; I hope you did okay with you and the kitties.

Scandi, nice that you treated yourself to dinner, wine and a spa. Thinking of you and your mom and glad her surgery went okay, sorry you have to wait to see what’s next. I am glad you have good friends helping you out.

Austina, I did get pretty upset when I noticed the missing diamond. They are small, yellowish and not very well cut but that’s not why I like it. My knee is a bit better; this time it didn’t get as bad as it has in the past so that is a good thing. I am glad to hear Colin is feeling better. Nice that you got to spend the day with Adam and Kim. Have fun at the wedding; you’ll look beautiful in that lovely dress.

Rainwood, I hope you are doing well.

AV, the days seem to have just suddenly got shorter. I notice it more in the evening.

Sharon, oh no to gunk backing up. I hope that gets taken care of right away. Good luck adjusting to your DH being home more now. I remember when my dad retired my mom started doing volunteer work. He was driving her crazy. Beautiful picture!

Jimmianne, sweet that you found someone to clean out your basement. How exciting your friends are having a baby soon. How fun to work harvest and get some grapes. I can totally see the I Love Lucy grape stomping episode now.

Mamabean, nice to hear Chris was doing well when you visited. OMG to finding that snake in your house. We had them in our last house and trust me I screamed like a little girl many times.

Marty talked me in to lifting at his gym after work last night. He had another client there so when he was done lifting Marty and I went out for supper. I hate eating so late because then I’m really hungry and eat more than I should. Oh well, I wasn’t hungry until after lunch today.
I did have my first talk with NN about working on her errors; it actually went well. She is printing out checklists and procedures so maybe she’ll approach this as a growth opportunity. Time will tell.
Off to practice my talk for our astronomy meeting - it’s a light one on Halloween and Astronomy plus a few “spooky” sky objects.

Take care.
Marcy

GM lovely ladies it's FriYAY. Hehe @bling_dream19 I know you enjoy that word.
Happy Friday/Friyay!

@Scandinavian wonderful news that your mom is done with the surgery and hope the lymph nodes come back all clear. Fingers crossed.

@marcy great idea to get those prongs checked. And oh yes to PB on a toasted english muffin. Yummm. I am glad your talk with NN went well. Yay! Your astronomy lecture sounds really interesting. And spooky oooooh. Glad you got to lift yesterday and I hear you re eating late. I ate sort of late last night (for us) and it was not as easy going to bed because I was still full. Thank you for your continued support and good wishes and for trying to scare the RW away. Fingers crossed the darn RW will go away and not come back. Hope you have a good Friday sweet Marcy.

There might not be any better way to 'keep' two houes accross the Pond, except having a horde of cleaners gothrough them - before you. I recall closing my old house, with sheets over everything; quite some exercise!
You are so right @AV_. Having 2 homes can be a pain and there is no simple way to take care of them easily. Though our homes are easier to care for than @Jimmianne 's because hers are in different countries and ours are just 60 (?) miles away or so. No complaints from us. We feel fortunate to be able to have a home at the shore and in Brooklyn and I hope that continues as long as we want it to. Our plans keep changing. First we were going to retire at the shore and that is why we bought this big house and sold our smaller beach house in 2011. Thinking we would eventually sell Brooklyn and keep the shore house. Then we decided no we would keep Brooklyn and sell the shore house when we were in our 80s and didn't want to care for a big house when we got old. But now I am leaning the other way. Keep the shore house and sell Brooklyn. Greg said if we did that he would retire. But I don't know how I feel about being here full time and so no decisions at the moment. I keep changing my mind. Greg's preferences are clear. He prefers it out here. I am a city girl however and love the ease of just walking out of my home into lively action and shops and activities. All right there. Vs getting into the car and driving which we have to do here. I mean we do have the beach we can walk on at any time and do not need our car for that but that's it. I love it here in summer and nice weather but in the dead of winter IDK. Not much to do here when the weather is inclement without getting into a car. Oops I did go on about this. Sorry for writing a book.

3 AM is the best time of the day, ain't it!
Knowing yourself is a valuable thing @AV_ and while it continues to work for you more power to you. And if that should change I am sure you will find a new situation that works for you. When the time comes. For now enjoy and live in the moment. I am trying to follow that advice as well. I hope you are sleeping better. 3 AM is not the best time of day for me generally but I guess we make the best of it when we are awake. And we accomplish lots while others are sleeping. LOL. I do love sleeping though and wish I was better at it.

@Mamabean I saw your post in the other thread. And responded. How did it go with the snake last night? Any updates?

I felt like Pooh Bear--in our blustery day! Made for a challenging ride--but better a short ride than none at all. Speaking of bikes, going to check out new ones tonight.

Yay for riding yesterday despite the blustery day. We are going to ride today and the weather is blustery here too. Looking forward to it but dressing as warmly as I can on the bike today. Did you see/buy any new bikes last night? So exciting and cannot wait to see what you decide to purchase. And yes a short ride is better than none at all. On the same page with you 100% on that.

@Austina lovely dress. Enjoy the wedding. I love weddings. Glad Colin is feeling better and glad you are enjoying Adam and Kim's visit. Sweet.

dear missy hope all is calm and contented at your house under the circumstances
if you ever want a walk in all that bad weather i know the perfect soundtrack

im really looking forward to getting to know you all, im a bit starved for friendship right now (another reason i need to find a job)
but im shy so i intend to hang back a bit as i catch up on all your happenings

very blustery here today - bits of new growth from the roses all over the place
but our wisteria is protected between the garage and the fence so we can still see spring

Dear @Daisys and Diamonds please feel comfortable enough to jump right in here. We are warm and welcoming and friendly. I promise. I do want to know that perfect soundtrack you are recommending for bad weather walks. We love walking on the beach in all sorts of weather. It's very romantic. Waves crashing and rain gently falling down. We draw the line at walking (on purpose) in torrential downpours however.

We are here for you so know that and take your time and no pressure. Whenever you are comfortable to share we are here to listen and offer support and friendship. I hope you find the perfect job for you when you are ready.

@Jimmianne hope you have a lovely day and are feeling much better now that you found people to help you sort out the mess.

Greg went into the city rather late yesterday as we woke up later than usual due to being awake for hours in the middle of the night. And the day went super fast. By the time I was done with my cleaning (Greg cleaned his part of the house before he left another reason he left later) and done working out and taking a bath Greg was home LOL. So I really had no time to miss him at all. Went much better than I anticipated.

He was happy to be back at work and he really loves work. I am pleased he enjoys it and hopefully he can stay there as long as he wants. You never know with our economy and the current political climate what will happen and so we take nothing for granted and if the situation at work should change we would adapt as necessary. Just hoping Greg gets to stay as long as he wants to there. He is happy when he is productive and making a difference which he is doing. Even when working at home. He is very efficient.

Today we are attempting a bike ride despite the cold temps and high winds. They shouldn't be as high as yesterday (50 mph wind gusts yesterday) and looking forward to riding. But first must clean and disinfect the house. Very anxious about next week culturing the cats. I am praying they are negative for RW but Fred is the wild card having not had Itrafungol and having so many crusts on his RW areas still. RW was all over his body. And truth be told when I look to closely at Tommy and Bobby I start seeing suspicious areas so I am trying not to look. We are still giving the others Itrafungol but no more L-S dips so that concerns me because if they still have RW they need those dips. But as you might remember Fred can no longer tolerate the dips. He remains the most worrisome re his health. Poor baby. He is still knock wood eating and purring and as long as that continues we will continue fighting for him and his health.

Have a lovely day girls and sending you all hugs.

Leaving you with baby Oliver. Yup. Curled up and sleeping on the TIVO box (frankie used to sleep on the TIVO box...the heat seeker that she was and now looks like Ollie loves the heat too) after he woke us at too early an hour. LOL. Sorry I know it's blurry but it's dark here. Watching the meteorologist on the news and Oliver is clearly over the weather and needs his beauty sleep. Hey don't we all. ::)

@missy, I hope you had a good ride today. Oliver looks so cute  Those tee shirts are really funny. Hoping for good news on the rw front.

@Scandinavian, I'm glad the surgery went smoothly and I am hoping for the best possible outcome for your mother. It's great you have supportive and helpful friends to help you through this tough time. (((Hugs)))

@Austina, beautiful dress! I hope you and Colin had a lovely time at the wedding. Glad Colin is on the mend. No special plans while we're here, although we are attending a wedding here at the end of the month. We'll probably go to Charleston at some point too.

Hi @rainwood!

@canuk-gal, nice you have some time off this week, enjoy it. Gorgeous pic  Retirement is a big change for a couple and it can take time to figure out what works best for both people. I'm glad you were able to go for a ride and get some much needed stress relief.

@bling_dream19, I'm glad you are getting the band remade; it looks so pretty with your set. Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi @Daisys and Diamonds! Nice to see you here; this thread makes for good company.

@Jimmianne, great news about finding someone to clean the basement. Love the pic of you working the harvest and glad you had a great time doing it.

@Mamabean, so glad to read Chris is doing well. Oh no to that snake!

@marcy, I'm sorry about the missing diamond. I know that heart has a lot of meaning for you. I'm sure it can be fixed and hopefully after the prong check it will hold up well. Encouraging news about NN. Who knows, maybe she's starting to get the message. Good luck with your astronomy meeting prep; sounds like it will be a fun presentation.

Having a nice time here...the weather is sunny and a bit on the cool side for this time of year. Got together with my sister and bil for dinner last night. Dh had a few business associates here right before I came so I'm just changing sheets and doing some cleaning.

Hope everyone is having a good Friday!

I feel the same about the many houses built miles from neighbours throughout mountain valleys here; for me, not - IDK to drive, having gotten away without it this far; life could be organized without it, but, why... Then, the town is too much for me: somewhere I want to go for a day out, not every day - not even every week. I like the village square better: there is more to see where you know everybody than any other show I know of, & I am still a foreighner working out details.

everyone is so nice here
just wanted to wish all a good day
with healing thoughts to those who need them
i feel like i need a little note book to jot down who every one is till i get to know you all (sounds a little bit stalky but im completly harmless i promise)

its mid spring here and we don't need a ton of covers on the bed anymore
im sorry if that means its getting colder for some of you northern peeps but that's the price you pay for beautiful Autumn colours

this is our wisteria.
completly forgot about the poor thing as years ago someone ' planted ' a garage in front of it

GM girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!

@junebug17 glad you are enjoying your time in SC and had the opportunity to visit with your sister. Enjoy a lovely weekend. XO

@Tekate thinking of you every day and hoping your consult went well October 14th. Sending you hugs and continued healing vibes and when you have the time just let us know how you are doing. No pressure. (((Hugs))).

@bling_dream19 how did the rest of your week go? Are you staying put for the weekend or will you be traveling down the shore? I am glad the band will be remade and I know it will be beautiful and just how you want it to be. Enjoy a lovely weekend.XO

@Scandinavian sending continued healing dust your mom's way and hope the weekend goes well. Hugs.

@Daisys and Diamonds love your wisteria photo and you are so right. Lovely autumn colors are breathtaking but we do pay the price. I wish we were mid spring instead of mid autumn because I am not a fan of winter weather. Though I find winter to be beautiful as well with the crisp clear skies and snow lined trees and streets. Just not a fan of the bitter cold. Lucky you have summer coming your way soon and Spring might just be my favorite season because of the promise it holds. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.XO

Best of luck with the tests next week!

Thank you @AV_ I used to drive everywhere when I was single and living in Park Slope Brooklyn. But I was young and fearless and didn't mind parking on the street or driving in traffic. These days not so much and Greg does all the driving. I know it's not good and I have to get comfortable with driving again. It's a must in the suburbs. And I agree. At times I like to be around people and liveliness but at other times I prefer solitude. Well not complete solitude but not crazy crowded. I admit we have (for us) the best of both worlds but it is hard to keep both homes running smoothly and with 4 cats throughout most of our marriage it was/is hard to continue carting them back and forth. One home would be so much easier but then we give up something. Isn't that what life is? A series of compromises and figuring out what you need and want and what will work best for you. All these decades this is what has worked best but we are constantly evaluating and re evaluating as we get older. As things continue to change so do our priorities and we must adapt to survive and thrive. Once again I am sorry for the lengthy reply. Hope you have a fun weekend. Hugs.

Speaking of fun we had a great day yesterday. Rode lots of miles and enjoyed ice cream and all in all a wonderful day. Friyay lived up to its name.

I mean look at this gorgeous beach scene. I have to add one more photo. Glistening water, blue skies and birds hanging out on the beach. Relaxing and away from the crowds. Breathtaking.
FYI no color enhancements so not sure why the color is different in each photo but so pretty regardless.

And of course our mid day ice cream cycling break. We enjoyed it in the sun so that kept us warm despite the brisk temps. When the sun is out it's oh so sweet.

Screen Shot 2019-10-19 at 5.46.31 AM.png

And I think we are winding down cycling this year sadly. Monday will be mild but Greg has an orthopedic re-consult because he really needs to have knee surgery and probably cannot put it off another year. The RW situation makes this so challenging but hopefully we will figure it out. So we are not going to get many more miles in despite cooperating temps this Monday and this weekend might be it for us cycling wise but still very pleased with the total so far.

Have a wonderful Caturday Saturday dear NIRDIs. XOXO.

Yay for riding yesterday despite the blustery day. We are going to ride today and the weather is blustery here too. Looking forward to it but dressing as warmly as I can on the bike today. Did you see/buy any new bikes last night? So exciting and cannot wait to see what you decide to purchase. And yes a short ride is better than none at all. On the same page with you 100% on that.

@Austina lovely dress. Enjoy the wedding. I love weddings. Glad Colin is feeling better and glad you are enjoying Adam and Kim's visit. Sweet.

Oh and these are two t shirts I would love to get. Haha.

Indeed.

Teehee me love FriYAYs @missy !!! Soo thankful the weekend is here! Going to visit my family today. Happy Caturday! Missy I love those tshirts and you NEED them!!! Glad you had good week even with Greg working. And I hear you on the decision between shore and city house. They both have so many great qualities. But you know my heart is beach all day long. But I love the city, adore the hustle and bustle. Maybe a city condo? Moving is hard. Getting rid of things is fun but challenging. I'm learning decisions get easier if you're ok either way. And the nirdies are teaching me that and really all of PS.
@Mamabean omg to the snake!!! Cool u got a pic though teehee. Hope it got out quickly. Hope you have a great weekend!
@marcy Thanks for the glam encouragement! No date set yet but it's starting to come together. So happy for you and Marty and his successful gym. I hope you find a suitable diamond for your mom's pendant.
@junebug17 thanks for your kind words always and encouragement. Work week is over and time for fun and relaxing. I hope you have a great weekend.
@Daisys and Diamonds hey girl and I love your name! This is a great group and I'm thrilled for new friends so welcome! You sound really great and I love that you love Springsteen!
@Jimmy Hi there your grapes and pink clippers pic is awesome!

Love and hugs to all and sparkle!

@Scandinavian, It was so good to hear your mom’s surgery went well. Sending lots of healing dust her way. Hopefully she will receive good news and will be able put her mind at ease. Thinking of you. Sending you hugs. Please remember to take good care of yourself too.

@Austina, Great news that Colin is beginning to feeling better. Unfortunately we don’t bounce back quite as quickly as we age. The dress you will be wearing to the wedding is beautiful. Have a wonderful time at the wedding. How great that Adam and Kim are visiting. I’m sure it lifted your spirits.

@junebug17 Have a great time in SC. Enjoy the warm weather! It nice that you get to spend time with your sister and BIL too.

@Mamabean, Thank you for the update on Chris. I’m glad you were able to see him and that he is doing well. Hopefully it is getting easier for you now that he is in treatment. OMG on the snake being in the house. I’d RUN out of the room. Did you catch it before you went out of town? How was your commute?

@missy, Congrats on making your goal of 7,000 miles. I’m glad things are getting better with the RW situation for you, Greg and the kitties. Hopefully it will be over with soon and your life can get back to normal. Are you seriously considering giving up the Brooklyn home?

@Slick1 , The picture you posted with your son is so sweet. You look beautiful in the dress you wore to the wedding. I’m glad you had a wonderful time with your family and friends.

@marcy, I’m sorry about the missing diamond. It’s understandable that you would be upset with it being a piece of your mom’s jewelry. Do you enjoy working out at Marty’s gym? It sounds like his business is going well.

@Jimmianne , I’m sorry to hear you have been dealing with health issues and things have been stressful lately. I think we all change our minds at times on what we want or think we want as we age. If you want a home in two locations you could always purchase a condo here . It would eliminate all the maintenance worries.

@bling_dream19, How exciting you found your wedding dress and it’s the dress you love. Honestly I’ve seen enough “Say Yes To The Dress” episodes to wonder if brides aren’t better off selecting their wedding dresses by themselves. Wedding planning is so much fun.

AV, It must be nice to be able to walk to a village square. You live in such a beautiful area.

@Tekate, Thinking of you and hope all is going well with you.

@canuk-gal, Many people feel like you are feeling with your husband retiring. Most people like some time to themselves at times, I know I do. I worried when my husband retired how it would be because he had traveled for business a lot for many years. Luckily we both love it so far. I have heard far more stories from people who said it was a big adjustment.

@daisy and Diamonds , My MIL worked a part time job when my FIL retired. She said many times it helped her a lot.

It’s been a busy week. We have a wedding to attend today. A good friend’s daughter is getting married.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!:wavey:

@missy--we bought a gorgeous Cannondale bike....not for me but for our son. Some excellent human stole his other bike so we bought a replacement. And the color! platinum gold of course! My DH was trying to convince me to get something new but I like my Giant.

@Tekate hello lady!

@junebug17 hope SC is treating you well!

@marcy red vehicles are cool!

@Calliecake glad you are enjoying your DH retirement. Somehow I knew this would happen...if he helped out around here it wouldn't be so trying....but but but......anyway he still does contract work (which is enough)

Anyway take care peoples and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Busy day running around so in for the rest of the evening and some wine.

cheers--Sharon

@Jimmianne WB JimmiTake care of, I'm sorry about your health, I understand, and it is a real pain to come back to your home and it's not as you expected it to look like :( I'm here for you if you need to chat or whatever. Having the perpetual jaw probem and shoulder problem etc I feel for you. Glad you are back.. hope the kids are good xoxoxo so so sorry about your pup Jimmie, we love our furkids and I know how much you loved yours, my heart to yours.

@missy I have to go over to the RW thread and see how things are for the furkids. I'm again wanting to eat tons of ice cream and I have gained weight after these trips to Austin eating Tex Mex every day.. fattening food for sure. You and Greg look good and happy.. love to and do love you guys!

Update from me:

Okay, we sold the house in one day, two offers, took the 2nd. Their inspector found mould growing in our master bathroom linen closet. We have a radon remediation unit in our house, when we bought th house the radon level was above what is considered okay so the owner put in the unit and since then (2014) no radon, no radon in the water either. So we are in TX when this mould pix and problem is brought to our attention, so we had already decided I needed to come back with John since the closing is to be 11/15... Mike had already decided to place Autie in daycare 3 days a week so we stayed 5 extra days and drove back and have been working on packing and getting the mould problem understood and fixed. It turns out that the radon remediation unit has condensation especially during the summer and the closet is shut and the water condenses and the mold has grown (I never noticed anything putting towels in etc). So first we had a restoration and cleaning and mold remediation company come out, they said it was minor and all we had to do was clean it with bleach and that the problem was coming from the radon remediation pipe and N/C! next up we had the radon company who put the unit in come out (still under warranty for one month more! yay), they looked at it and agreed their until was causing the problem and they will insulate the piping and that will fix the condensation problem yay! so next up we have a 'guy' who's going to replace the ceiling in the linen closet with some special type of special momold resistant sheetrock and seal it and paint it and paint the closet... so that is where we are on this, it's been so hectic and stressful. My jaw, well what a clusterf--- this has been, the infection has abated a bit but now my bone in my jaw is exposed, don't know where the gum went except probably eaten by the infection.. dunno, gotta call the OS monday. We are busy packing and trying to stay on top of everything. Best thing is Autie! she is a sweetie pie and I look forward to being with her more by the end of November. We rented a house in Georgetown for a year, it just stresses me out thinking about moving. xo

Sending love to you all.
