Thank you, especially your comment on it looking big on my finger, that is what I hoped for.

Jon's stones are really fabulous! You were wise to choose his beautiful oval! It looks great in the rose gold halo, too!

A beauty!!

Love that oval and the setting is gorgeous!

I'd also enjoy a video along with more pics, lol- if you are clever enough to be able to post one- I'm not, but I do enjoy them! I have not seen the elyque ovals irl, have seen jon's videos but it would be great to see performance once set and on the hand.

Oh no. I hope everything is okay. You just got this and seemed to love it.
Yes I did just get, but I’m having an OCD moment with the halo. There are spaces between the diamonds. Love the Elyque just not the halo. :(2
Thank you for asking

I find that common with rose and yellow gold. White gold and platinum blend into the diamonds so you don’t see the prongs as easily but yellow and rose created little lines between each stone. I learned that the hard way with my original wedding band but now I love the look. I find halos in white/platinum have a crinkled tinfoil look to them but colored metal makes the diamonds more defined.

@Sunshine812 Your ring is beautiful, and I’m sorry that you’re unhappy with it to the point of looking to sell it already. I understand not wanting to see the metal between the halo diamonds; that would bug me as well. Have you considered asking the vendor to try remaking the setting so that there is less metal showing between the halo diamonds? Or perhaps changing just the head to white gold or platinum so that the metal between the halo diamonds is less obvious? Just a thought. :wavey:

Thank you so much for saying it would bug you too. I also appreciate your suggestion of the white gold or platinum for the head. I have asked Jonathan from AV to fix but not sure it’s going to happen, I’m still hoping he can fix it or put the Elyque in another setting. I’m just hoping I won’t be out of $3k for the setting. Thank you again for your suggestion, I can at least ask him.

For what it's worth (which is nothing, really), I like seeing tiny spacing or metal prongs between the diamonds as long as the prongs are not blob-like or huge. The close crowding of diamonds in a halo and between the main diamond and halo diamonds looks frenetic and messy to me--almost like it's one big diamond with mushy facets all around the edge. But that's me, not you. I agree that the metal color accentuates the spaces. I can clearly see the same spaces in the white metal rendering, but it does take more looking to see it, than it does in the rose gold version. From the vendor's perspective, I can understand why custom pieces are not refundable. But on the other hand, I would want my obviously unhappy customer to have some recourse. I hope something works out for you. The ring is absolutely gorgeous, as is. It may not be for you, but it is gorgeous. Whether you get it remade, sell it to someone else, or learn to love it and wear it yourself, I hope the process is as painless as possible for you. This should bring you joy, not sadness. You definitely have my empathy and well wishes.

I totally agree now... I just saw the render in Rose Gold and expected it to look at least like that if not more like the WG one I had my heart set on. If the render would have shown the prongs and lines, I would have adjusted fire, in fact, I think I tried but the ring was in stage 5 of 6 on being completed. Thanks again for your input, I appreciate it!

Thank you for your opinion, it is worth it, it really does show me how different individuals see things. You like the tiny spaces and prongs, others might not. But for me, I wanted something specific and I don’t see that. I have learned a hard lesson from all this though, be very specific and be strong enough and up front if you don’t like what was made before they send it to you. I thought that if I said I loved it, I would love it, but I don’t. I put it on my finger once to take pictures when I got it, and another time 3 days later just to make sure, and haven’t put it back on since and that was 31 Aug.
thank you for your support

I'm afraud you won't be happy with the second try. He has great diamonds and moissanites but I've never really read on these boards about his great settings! He won't be able to give you the look you are looking for. You should maybe look into VIctor Canera or Maytal Hannah (cheaper than VC). She has made alot of beautiful rose gold oval halos. With Jonathan from August Vintage I think your safest bet is making it into a nice solitaire and then saving up for your dream halo from maytal :)

Totally agree with this! Check our Maytal Hannah’s website. Her oval settings are TDF.

Any chance you might want to go with white gold so the metal wont show up as much? I tend to agree with @Lessics that if you dont change something
you are going to get close to the same results. Maybe go with white gold or smaller halo stones?

FWIW...I have 2 J colored stones and they are both in white metal. I can see some color in the bigger stone sometimes but it doesnt bother me.

EDIT...really glad he has agreed to remake it!
