GM lovely ladies. Hope everyone had a good day yesterday and a good night's sleep and that a good Wednesday is ahead for everyone. It is Sept 11th so a somber anniversary for the USA.

Missy, definitely all the hard work you are doing cleaning every day is burning off a ton of calories. Wishing RW gate goes away SOON. I do have a great gluten free PB cook recipe but they would be crumbs when you get them. They are melt in your mouth good. I hate to hear you and Greg aren’t get much sleep; that starts to wear you down and catch up with you. Hopefully you can catch a nap now and then but your days sounds very full. My knee is still pretty bad tonight. It is worse sitting than walking which is almost backwards from normal. It seems to go through cycles anymore. Glad Greg has his knee surgeon picked out; I know he is putting it off for now; I guess that is what I am doing as well. Marty did get everything working and hooked back up when he got home last night. All it took was basic trouble shooting 101, unplug everything. I did finish watching the last episodes of Jag. I have been recording them off WGN. That ice cream looks delicious. I hope the lime dips went well.

Aww honey, I am sorry your knee is behaving badly and I am sending healing knee dust your way. Maybe when you and Greg are ready for knee surgery (he has been ready for 2 years now and we thought it was going to be this November but sadly RW gate continues to mess up our lives) you can both have it done at the same time at HSS. Just keeping that thought for now because HSS is tops. And you guys deserve the best. I will take PB crumbs. :lickout:
L-S dips proved very stressful yesterday and I am rethinking poor little Ollie's situation. He didn't do well and was super stressed when he got back home last night. I wrote more about it in my RW thread if you are interested. Glad your TV viewing is back to where you want it to be and you caught up on Jag. Beautiful sky photo Marcy.

I found the draft and its posted in the show me your latest purchases!

Ooh I have to go search for your thread of etsy finds. So glad you love them. Nice job @bling_dream19 :appl:

@missy thinking about you girl! Praying those kitties get better so you don't have to clean!!! It's beach and biking weather=)2

Thank you and yes it is that. Lovely biking weather. Today is going to be a bit warm but just glad to be able to cycle. Tomorrow looks like a non cycling day because of thunderstorms predicted and also because Greg has to head into the city so there won't be time for anything but cleaning and cat meds. Oh well. Just happy we are doing all the cycling we can and making the best of very difficult days. Hope your days are going well and that life is sweet.

Argh @missy, I’m so sorry that Elaine hasn’t worked out, what a shame, but as you say, if she’s not going to do the job properly, what’s the point? Just hope the lime dips with the baths are doing some good and RWGate will soon be over. When you look at that sweet innocent looking face, it’s hard to comprehend the mayhem that little monkey has brought to your lives. I’m glad the weather has been co-operating so you’re still able to get out and cycle and of course, enjoy the well earned ice cream along the way.

Thanks Austina. Ollie was not too sweet yesterday but I think the stress of it all is catching up with him and it's hard on everyone. And when I say hard that is an understatement. But we are doing the best we can and hoping we can get them all well. I am very worried about Fred. Very worried. But he still enjos eating and purring so we cannot put him down while he has that quality of life. I just don't know if he is going to get well from this and also what else is wrong with him as he is listless still. :cry2:

Well, after flogging ourselves on Sunday, I got a phone call yesterday to say that John couldn’t come and clean the carpets because his van wouldn’t start :x2 I’m sorry to say I didn’t believe his excuse, I’m pretty sure he was tired from the weekend, and I didn’t appreciate that he thought it was ok to put us off. He said he could come another time, but I told him I needed them cleaned before Thursday when the furniture’s due. He’s supposed to be coming tomorrow, but if he doesn’t come, then I’ll have to go and hire a machine and do it myself. We could’ve also moved the furniture in stages rather than doing it all on Sunday and wearing ourselves out. I think you can tell I’m rather peed off!

Oh I am sorry and I would be pissed off too and I hope he shows today and does the job as promised. I hope it doesn't come to you having to do it yourself. Wise to skip Pilates for now. You are doing enough hard work and exercise. Hope today goes smoothly for you Austina.

@Scandinavian sending you (((hugs))) and healing vibes.

@Slick1 how is your school week going? Wedding plans must be in full swing. Sending you lots of hugs and love.

@AV_ hope you had a good day too. Sending you lots of hugs and love.

Hola @Tekate how are you feeling this AM? Sending continued healing vibes and big hugs your way. Sweet Kate the Great. I hope you are feeling good and doing well and keeping you in my thoughts. (((HUGS))).

So I ran out of some gyn girl stuff I am taking and called the office and found out my gyn moved to Connecticut. Of course since we have not been back to Brooklyn for months I never got the notice. Sigh. Now I have to find a new gyn and I really liked my gyn and had been going to her for a decade plus. I hate starting all over. And that has to be put on hold because obviously there is no time to find and go to a new one and now I am probably going to just do without my female stuff which isn't life critical but I am sure you ladies understand it makes a quality of life difference. Oh well just another thing.

We had an enjoyable cycling day despite my worrying about the cats (I have become good at compartmentalizing otherwise I would never make it through a day) and the L-S dips yesterday. And got ice cream at the new place again and I had the best flavor. PB and J non dairy non gluten. YUMMMMMmmmmm. My favorite yet.:lickout:

Have a great day girls. Leaving you with little Ollie this AM. We let him out last night and he slept with us. He is very sweet but also behaving badly. Explained in the RW thread. I have no energy to go into what happened yesterday again. But suffice to say this is a stressful development and I only hope it is temporary. Hugs to all you lovely ladies. XOXO.

Little Ollie is yellow from the L-S dip.

@missy Good to hear from you! Oliver is getting spoiled rotten, from what I am seeing ,)

I am having a strange time with a painkiller my dentist gave & I do need, the stuff keeps me... drunk, sort of, although it does not have that kind of reputation. It seems that I can work at a snail's pace, just don't ask me to sit up & keep a straight line walking! Funny, not funny. Nothing due to be done today, so I can be amused by all this & no more. Your life is way more complicated ,(

I hope you feel better @AV_ and I too have weird reactions to pain killers. When I broke 2 bones in my leg I was unable to tolerate the pain meds so I took them very sparingly and made do as best I could. It comes down to genetics most likely and you are probably not processing the pain meds as the majority of people do...yet another thing we have in common. Feel better and take it easy today. No operating heavy machinery OK?

And yes I dare say you might be correct re Oliver though he has had a rough time of things being isolated for so long. I feel very badly about what he is going through and I hope it doesn't permanently affect his personality and disposition.

@missy I hear that vertigo is somewhat expected from this thing for one in a thousand or so. I am not operating anything at all except a virtual keyboard, not that I can. I don't think I will need this further, until the next intervention, next week; then, IDK to think that far.

I have not heard of a cat turned skittish by temporary treatment, but who can tell! Time will.

Hello lovelies

Sorry to hear that Ollie was a naughty boy yesterday @missy, poor Greg. Hopefully he’s calmer today and more his usual self. I imagine the cats are getting fed up with the constant round of treatments, and you can’t explain to them it’s for their own good. I always think if a pet is still eating and enjoying their food, then things can’t be too bad. I really hope they turn the corner soon and get back to their old selves.

I hope you can find a good gynae, it makes all the difference to feel comfortable with them when you’re dealing with such delicate issues.

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling too good @AV_ hopefully the effects of the painkillers will wear off and you’ll be back to normal. In the meantime, just rest and relax.

Oh no to your knee causing you problems @marcy, I hope it’s eased up today and you’re not in pain. We used to love JAG when it was shown here, and of course NCIS, although we’ve haven’t really got in to the spin offs. I see that Ziva has risen from the dead and is coming back to NCIS

How’re you doing @Tekate? Hopefully out of pain and no sign of infection. Hope everything goes well at your follow up appt tomorrow

Well John came this morning and the carpets are lovely and clean, all ready for the furniture delivery tomorrow. The company emailed to confirm they’ll be here between 8-11am, the charity also rang to say they’ll be here between 8-30am to collect the old furniture, and the worktop for the utility room is being delivery between 2-4pm. The new sink arrived today, great service considering I only ordered it yesterday.

I don’t know if I mentioned that we went out on Saturday night, and when we got to our friends, I checked on Dottie on the camera, and she was howling and pacing, so Colin had to come home, by which time, she’d settled down. He let her out, and put her in her crate, and I checked on her during the evening, and she was fine. We don’t know what had upset her, but she was fast asleep when we got home.

She’s starting to show signs of aging, she’s a bit stiff on her front left leg so we’ve started her on some natural joint treatment to see if that will help. Yesterday, after she’d eaten, she started acting strangely, chewing her back right foot and holding it up. When I checked, she had an acorn ‘hat’ stuck in her pads. Colin took her out this morning and said she was walking fine, but she’s been kind of walking on her toes on that foot. I’ve had a good look and there’s nothing there, and if she was in any pain, she’d be screaming because she’s a big cry baby. I don’t know if she’s putting it on for sympathy, or just thinks she’s still got something there. Harry used to do that all the time, he’d hobble about, and give you his paw, then we’d make a fuss of him and give him a treat, then he’d do it again later, only it would be the other paw  I don’t want to take Dottie to the vet because she really doesn’t like going, so I’ll keep an eye on her and see how she is. If I still think there’s a problem in a day or two, I’ll take her, but I don’t want them to just do lots of tests for the sake of it, (once they know you have pet insurance, $$$$$ kerching!!!!)

Good luck for tomorrow @Calliecake, hope it all goes well.

Big way to all the lovely NIRDIs., wishing you all a good day. :wavey:

Hi ladies.

@AV_ do they have you on a narcotic? I tell you I can get looped on those things, but I did build up a tolerance on the years I took vicodin before having hip replacements. Hope you felt better today.

@missy Ollie bad? aw he's still a kitten, but he is a bit yellow.. :) thank you for asking about my tooth teeth jaw! :) my eye tooth is a real killer, I see the surgeon Thursday afternoon and I''m going to discuss pulling it, he'll want to say no, but I don't know anymore, this kind of pain means infection.. sigh sigh sigh.. I hope they don't send me for another MRI, otherwise the implant feels great.. who knows. Missy, with you and Greg as furmom and dad I highly doubt Ollie will be nothing but the little devilish sweetheart he is.. Hope you find a gyno you feel comfortable with, I agree with Austina, it's important to have a good relationship with your gyno if you can.. I use my GP for gyno stuff, but in Austin I didn't, it was who I felt more comfortable with.. xoxoxoxoxo

@Austina Hi Austina, getting by girl, you are probably asleep by now, went out with some old old friends from elementary school last night for dinner, one of the women lives in CT the other up in Freeport, one I knew much better, but had a lovely time.. ugh to the rug cleaner guy but glad he showed up today and we need pix! :) I hope sincerely Dottie had a missing Mom and Dad, Salley goes into her crate and sleeps when we go out BUT when we first got her we had to close the crate gate because she howled and whined and ran around, Salley is getting older too, she doesn't walk but HOP HOP because of pain in her back, she is on a nerve medicine which does help her I think. Sending Dottie a huge hug. :) xoxo

Went out with some friends last nite and had a Cobb salad, there is nothing healthy is a Cobb salad but it was all they had I thought I could chew :) it was okay, Maine isn't known for great salads.. We are working on getting the house fixed it's a pain.

@marcy Marcy, I am sorry about your knee, I hope it feels better, my husband needs a new one but he fights it. I will say that both times I had my hip(s) replaced the PTs told me the best and easiest recovery is knees and the worst is shoulders and in the middle is hips.. I need a new shoulder but I a fighting it for now, think I would rather get in down in Austin anyway. You take care hope work is good and Marty is doing well !!

@Calliecake Hi dear girl, (lady but inside we are all girls right? :) ) hope you are doing well have you gotten the procedure done yet? I send you love and hug and tell you it wil be fine... xoxoxo

@Slick1 hope school and life is being good to you and that wedding plans are ready for the big day! xoxox

@Mamabean sending a loving shout out to you lady! xoxoxo

@junebug17 Hi June, hope you had a great day and all is good with you and your family, sending you love June! true that. xoxoxo

@Scandinavian sending you love and healthy dust and peace Scandi, I know your life is very hectic and I so hope your mom is doing okay.. from me to you I send love.. xoxoxo

Two pix, one of the cake I made yesterday and one of the outside furniture we bought a few months ago, who knows I may even have posted the furniture.. time.. sending you all love.

Hi NIRDI’s!

Bling Dream, thank you. I took some Advil about 3 today and my knee is a bit better tonight. We will see. Darn that you lost your post. Sometimes if I use the back arrow in my browser I can find it. I usually type up my NIRDI response in Pages so I don’t lose it. I am anxious to see your Esty treasures.

Missy, I do read your RW thread. That is too bad Oliver freaked out and oh no he scratched Greg. I think all of you are being pushed to a point where it’s understandable to let some stress and emotions out. Sorry the Lime Dips are so stressful. They must be miserable and then having to dry. That is good to hear Fred is eating and purring. Sounds like Greg will have a great surgeon for his knee. I am definitely going out of state if I get my knee done. LOL, I would eat cookie crumbs too. Darn that your gynecologist moved. It’s hard to find a new doctor. Your ice cream looks and sounds delicious.

AV, sorry you are having trouble with your painkiller. I hope you feel better.

Austina, my knee isn’t as bad tonight so hopefully it’s going back to a lower pain level. I think lifting is helping to strengthen my legs but irritates my knees. I didn’t watch Jag when it was on TV (teaching at night most of those years) but really enjoyed it. I watch NCIS and am glad to see Ziva is coming back for at least a few episodes. Sounds like things are falling in place getting the rugs cleaned, the furniture picked up, the sink arrived and getting ready for your new furniture. Oh no that Dottie was upset about something. Glad she was okay later. Glad you guys found the acorn stuck on her foot.

Kate, I want some of your delicious cake. I am glad your implant feels better. Good luck with the surgeon tomorrow. Sometimes just pulling a tooth is a better way to go. I know the knee replacements are easier and better than they used to be but I am resisting. My sister had both knees replaced last year and did wonderful. She also needs work on her shoulder but I’ve heard those surgeries are tough and don’t always help. Great patio furniture; I swear that is the same set we have. They are comfy but Marty never remembers to cover them and I always want to clean them before I set down on them. I’m so OCD. I’ll set down on rod iron furniture that has been outside. Weird, I know.

I went out for supper with a friend of mine today. We had tacos and margaritas. Not a bad supper. She had to go back and wait for her son to be done at his boxing class so she and I went to a coffee / donut shop and had dessert. It was a nice evening. I stopped for gas on the way home and decided it feels like fall already. We had thick fog this morning and then it rained most of the day. The temps drop about 30 degrees here when it rains so it was quite chilly at about 7 tonight.

Take care.
Marcy

Loosely catching up!

AV, I am glad you had a mellow day. Tell me more about name day; I am unfamiliar with that.

I certainly remembered this question, because it has an funny answer this year: name days is when you get long emergency visits with a dentist who does not speak any language you do & they knock you off for two days without notice ,) (I'll be back, of course, happy that they do put up with my pidgin' Spanish, after it isn't what I am telling them that matters, except 'no pain!' - so they sure listened to that one) Every other year, it is the day of the same-named saint (September 2, St. Ana, second day of the Orthodox year), and my lot keeps these at least as much as birthdays that I do not care for much; the holy pretext is remote (cake & wishes, less remote.)
-
I couldn't find any trace of the sky map pin I admired, and sure enogh, there isn't much memorable jewelry with clever references to anything astronomy; often I wonder if the Zodiac signs are so simple because this is the most that adds up to a usable sign/letter-like/word-like... & werable too; done with pearls, they get showy.

@Tekate The thing that put me down is thought to be an easy painkiler, dexketoprofen. I'll keep it at hand for the next few trips to the same cabinet, just keeping in mind that is not to be taken lightly; otherwise, ibuprofen works well enough & I already know to dose it down to my size.
I might have lost count of all the changes in your life! Your niece makes grand-parenting look tempting.
-

@Scandinavian I can imagine what is going on with you, remembering some darkest times of my own...

-
There is a storm coming. A few days of light rain change everything; then it'll go up to 30º again over the weekend & I am ready for a little more summer.

Oh no! I am hoping and praying it isn't infected @Tekate and that this morning you wake and the pain is gone and it is healing well. Continued bucketloads of healing dust being sent your way. Good luck this afternoon with the surgeon and I am thinking of you as is Greg. Sending lots of positive energy and hugs your way sweet Kate the great. XOXO.

As for needing a new shoulder I think it's a good idea to wait til you are in Austin too. And by then you will be all healed from this ordeal hopefully. Glad you got to go out last night though sorry all you could chew was a Cobb salad. Soon you can eat steak and anything else your heart desires. Yummm to that cake you made yesterday. I can taste it from here. Looks amazing. I have a sweet tooth that I resist but OMG I want that cake. I bet I could eat most of it by myself. Just ask Greg .

Speaking of sweet tooth yesterday we got large ice creams and it was good but super expensive. Cost us for 2 large ice creams (3 scoops so not crazy) $16. I feel like an old lady because I remember when ice cream was less than a dollar.:lol-2: No ice cream today sadly. It's raining and Greg has to head into the city anyway. Sad but looking forward to tomorrow's ice cream at Days which is open Fri/Sat/Sun till mid October when it closes for good. In the meantime the Asbury place is good for Mon-Thurs while Days is open Fri-Sun. We got it covered.

Screen Shot 2019-09-12 at 5.55.42 AM.png

See? Not so large. $16 lol. Crazy price. But we love our ice cream what can I say. :lickout:

@Austina sorry Dottie is slowing down and hopefully it is just temporary. Glad the guy showed yesterday and that you are ready for today. Big day and you are almost done with the remodeling. It's going to be gorgeous. Nice job.:appl:

Sweet evening Marcy. Glad you had a good dinner with your friend and that you also got a donut. What flavor donut did you enjoy. It felt like autumn here for the past week but starting yesterday it has become summer again. Real feel in the 90s F yesterday and today. We sweated a lot cycling. No cycling today due to rain but hopefully tomorrow. Have a great day today dear Marcy. XOXO.

@canuk-gal thinking of you and hoping you are having a good week.

@Scandinavian hugs and more healing vibes being sent your mom's way.

@Slick1 hope your workweek is going well and you are feeling good. XOXO.

@Calliecake Good luck. Thinking of you. Soon you will be kidney stone free. Fingers crossed.

@AV_ how are you feeling today? I hope your pain is manageable and getting better each day. How is the rest of your week progressing? What are your temps like? I thought of you last night as I had some blueberries. They are no longer as sweet as they were at the beginning of the season. Oh well. I do love blueberries. Though I don't love the way they stain my fingers and teeth. :P2

OK posting at same time. I see you answered the weather question.

There is a storm coming. A few days of light rain change everything; then it'll go up to 30º again over the weekend & I am ready for a little more summer.

Stay safe and enjoy the storm from inside. Preferably with a sweet treat. I wish summer was coming our way instead of leaving. This is always a slightly melancholy time of year for me.

We cycled 60 miles again yesterday and I think Greg felt bad that we cannot cycle today so he was trying to give me as many miles time permitting. He is the best dh. He really goes above and beyond to make me happy. All we are dealing with and he is working and still he manages to do everything he can to help me get through this emotionally and physically stress wise. Today is an anxiety filled day for me because I am home for much of the day/evening by myself with the cats. As I wrote before I am not comfortable in my own house because of the contagion issue and while we have Ollie now loose in our bedroom and sleeping with us on the bed I am still apprehensive I can get RW but his emotional well being was suffering. We are seeing a change in his personality so we are taking the risk and letting him out in the bedroom now vs being confined to the playpen all night. And Fred is probably contagious and Tommy and Bobby might still be too so we cannot let Ollie out with them yet. It's been a long hard challenge that is continuing but just doing the best we can one day/one hour at a time. Thanks for letting me pour out my feelings here.

Off to clean the house soon. Cats all got their meds and some food. Each day is getting harder re feeding so have to reevaluate what we are going to do re Itrafungol. We have done over 6 weeks now and I just ordered more for another 2 plus weeks but taking it one day at a time re the meds. And L-S dips because I think they are stressing the cats out more and more. What can we do? No answers there just asking rhetorically.

Have a great day girls and sending each one of you hugs and love. Thanks for being my friend and thanks for all your warm support and caring. NIRDIs are the best. XOXO.

@missy You are reading my mind: storms go with desert, and @Tekate 's cake reminds a favorite flourless dark chocolate cake (no flour, therefore ground wallnuts)... I am more likely to go out than bake & take work to a coffee place. I do not need the dramatic painkiller today, fingers crossed.

Good morning girlfriends..I’m sorry I’m not checking in..I probably will pop in and out on PS but I can’t keep up here except to say hello..Chris is in the hospital and not doing well. He has major issues with drinking and he’s made life for everyone miserable as well as himself. I’m very depressed because it’s a bad situation and it’s hard not to jump in and try to fix everything. That can’t be done. This has been an ongoing problem for decades. My health is now being affected. I saw my cardiologist yesterday who told me I need to get my stress level down. I don’t know how that can happen. Love you all and hope things lighten up so I can be back in the happy chatter! I didn’t want you all to think I just faded away.. xxxxoooo

I feel like an old lady because I remember when ice cream was less than a dollar.

You got me thinking how much it would cost me to make a round of perfect icecream (darn!) Rain stopped, so I'll be meeting the figs ripen since yesterday; no point fiddling with them.

Hello lovelies

Oh Joanne, I’m so sorry to hear that your stress levels are so high it’s affecting your health. My friend has had the same issues with her son, and ultimately she had to walk away because you can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. He had to hit rock bottom before he could start the slow climb up. Sending love and peace to you, you have so much going on that sometimes you have to put yourself first, even though your instincts are to continue to mother. Take care of yourself and check in when you can.

I hope today goes well @missy, I can understand how coping with this on your own feels overwhelming, Greg is truly one in a million, and your strong and loving bond shines through every post. You can only keep doing what you’re doing and hope that ultimately its going to bring the results you want.

Glad your knee is not complaining too much @marcy, it sounds like you had a lovely time catching up with your friend.

Sorry for the quick post, I’m absolutely shattered, I’ve been on the go since first thing. The delivery turned up at 8am, and unfortunately there were a couple of mishaps. When they unwrapped one of the larger chests, I noticed damage to a corner. The delivery guys were fantastic, they said they had another on the truck for their last delivery, and if they could unload the truck and get it off, they’d bring that in. So they had to lug the damaged one back down stairs, bring in the second one, and then unload the truck to get at the other one. The 2 bedside chests were fine, and the dressing table stool is fine, When we unwrapped the dressing table, we couldn’t get the legs to fit. I rang the company and they’re delivery a new one next Wednesday. Once I’d cleared up, we took Dottie out, got back, when straight out to do our food shopping, then had lunch. I’ve spent all afternoon putting everything back in to the chests and cleaning up again.

A couple of pix to give you an idea of what it looks like.

I didn’t want you all to think I just faded away.. xxxxoooo

Oh I am so sorry @Mamabean. You poor dear. I hope Chris improves and has a major revelation and turns things around. Sending you big hugs and gentle comfort and bucketloads of good vibes. Please take care of yourself dear Joanne. {{{Hugs}}}.

Yay! That is wonderful news! So happy to hear.

And the furniture looks lovely and I am glad the mishaps are being taken care of so efficiently.
Thank you for your lovely comments about the relationship Greg and I share. He is one in a million. And you and Colin share such a special bond too. We are lucky ladies.

Fingers crossed you are continuing to feel well. Yummy to flourless dark chocolate cake. And ground walnuts. Oh so good. I agree with you. Storms do bring up the desire for sweet treats and comfort food. I love snacking on grilled sweet potatoes. So delish. And warms one up on a stormy cold day/night. Of course ice cream goes with anything.

@marcy They made even my goat look good!

@Austina The mirrored pieces open up the room. I have never had any, or given them a thought - now I wonder why the style isn't everywhere.

So, there is rain on & off, and work to turn too [drop in the ocean]. This is chocolate drinking time! [@tekate , this is still your cake talking...] & just ran out.

@missy, so sorry Ollie was acting up and I am hoping it's just a temporary reaction to all that's been going on. Hopefully he has calmed down for you. Sending lots of healing vibes to all the kitties, and I do hope Fred perks up a little. Thanks for the advice on the vitamin C and zinc...I found some in the cabinet so I've have been taking it...can't hurt at this point! It's a shame your doctor moved and I hope you can find a new one you like.

Oh @Mamabean, I am so very sorry your son is struggling and that it is affecting your health. I hope and pray Chris reaches the point where he is ready to enter into recovery. I know as a mom it's heartbreaking to see your child suffer, and yes, it causes pain for all who love him as well. Please, please take care of yourself and try your hardest to reduce the stress you're feeling...although I know it's so much easier said than done. I hope you will check in, please don't worry about keeping up, or having to be happy or anything like that... please join in whenever you feel the need for a little company, support, whatever. Sending much love and many hugs, xoxox

@marcy, glad your tv is up and running again, and you were able to watch the last episodes of JAG. It's great you've been able to get together with friends while Marty's away. Tacos and margheritas are a winning combination. Definitely helps pass the time! Love the pic of that blue sky, just gorgeous. Oh no to feeling like fall! It's too soon lol. I'm not ready for winter. I'm really sorry your knee is bothering you so much and I hope it feels better soon.

@bling_dream19, aw, thank you for the compliment on my jewelry, you made my day :kiss2: I hope you're enjoying your etsy purchases...I saw what you decided to keep on the other thread and I LOVE the heart pendant and citrine ring! Did you decide on the cluster pendant? I think it's beautiful. And have fun with your IS set!

@Austina, your bedroom looks absolutely beautiful! Ugh to the mishaps, nothing is ever simple...but all of your hard work has paid off, it's lovely and inviting and very elegant. Love all your choices, and the small couch at the foot of the bed is SO cool. And I'm happy to read that Dottie's foot is much better, what a relief for you! please give her an extra pet from me. Thanks for the rec, I will get some echinacea and give it a try next time...although hopefully that won't be for a long time LOL.

@AV_, so sorry you had a strange reaction to the pain medication and I hope you're feeling better. I love the idea of Name day...so much better than a birthday haha. Maybe I'll start the tradition in this country :D

@Tekate, oh no to thinking you might have an infection, I hope it's nothing serious and you get good news at the surgeon today. Your chocolate cake looks amazing! And I really love the outdoor furniture, so cozy and comfy. I'm going to try to talk dh into getting something similar for SC.

@Calliecake, thinking of you and I hope all is well. XOX

@Scandinavian, thinking of your mom and hoping she's doing ok. (((Hugs)))

Nothing interesting to report...still a bit under the weather so I've been laying low and not doing a whole lot. Sending love to all!

Hi NIRDI’s!

AV, thank you for the explanation for Name Day. You do see a lot of Zodiac jewelry, pins and decorations. I like the more astronomical look though. I hope your storm wasn’t too bad. I was so chilly last night I did turn on the furnace before going to bed.

Missy, that is about the same price as Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream; even Dairy Queen isn’t that cheap anymore. Your ice cream looks delicious and darn you didn’t get to go for a ride today or get ice cream. We warmed up again today as well. Soon we’ll be having those dog days of summer. Holding on as long as we can. I got a yellow cake donut with chocolate frosting. They had so many flavors it was a tough choice and of course not as many as they have in the morning. There is no easy answer to what is best to do about RW gate. Are some of the kittys RW free right now? I thought you and Greg had caught it; did I read that right you and Greg don’t have it? I hope I understood that correctly because that sounds promising. I am sure letting Oliver run around a bit more will help his stress.

Mamabean, big hugs to you. I am sorry your stress is taking a toll on your health. It’s hard to do but sometimes you have to take care of yourself first. I hate to hear about Chris but there isn’t a lot you can do to change that, that is up to him to decide to change. It’s tough watching those we love suffering. Sending mega dust to all of you.

Austina, you room looks fabulous! How lucky they had a replacement dresser for you. That is great news Dottie’s leg is doing well. My knee is better again; thank you. I even walked around the mall a bit tonight.

Kate, oh no to getting pollen on your patio furniture. Marty told me how pollen covers everything out east; we just get dirt and dust on things here. I did enjoy the evening with my girl friend and I am glad my knee is a bit better. You had a low temperature all right; we have some 40’s in our upcoming forecast too. As I told AV I turned on my furnace lat night. That’s good the surgeon didn’t see any infection; I hope you start to feel better now that the stitches are out and it all becomes a bad memory soon.

Junebug, tacos and margaritas are a good combo. My knee is a bit better tonight. I didn’t even take Advil today so that is progress. Thank you for the compliment of the blue sky. Hoping to see a nice sunrise gets me out of bed in the morning. Glad you are resting up; I hope you feel better soon.

I had my work done by noon today so I actually starting writing up my annual appraisals. They are usually done in December but while I have time I decided to start on them. I have my self appraisal done and 2 out of 6 employee appraisals done. If I get the bulk of things written now; I can just proof them and tweak them when they are due. Based on past observations I don’t foresee any of my employees changing dramatically between now and December.

Marty got back to town a while ago but went to lift at his gym. He should be home soon. I went to the mall for supper and stopped in to see that tanzanite band. Lucky for my pocket book they didn’t have it in stock. They also had their Christmas teddy bears and puppy dogs. I didn’t think they were very cute but I did buy one each and donate them; the proceeds go to St. Jude’s and they donate the toys to local first responders to have for children.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! It's FriYay and Friday the 13th and I believe it's a full moon today. Uh oh everyone watch out. I believe that Fri the 13th and full moon is a lucky day so fingers crossed that holds true for everyone today.

@missy, so sorry Ollie was acting up and I am hoping it's just a temporary reaction to all that's been going on. Hopefully he has calmed down for you. Hi Junie, glad you are taking C and zinc and I hope it helps speed up the resolution of your cold. I hope you are feeling much better today. Little Ollie is an adolescent now so I guess it is part of the normal childhood? IDK because I just don't remember the others as kittens it's been a long time since we had a kitten in the house. Thank you for all your kind wishes for the cats and for us. And for your healing vibes. Sending healing vibes your way too and hugs. Hope you have a wonderful Friday and are feeling all better today.

@missy Hi! just got back from the surgeon, I had seen something I thought was pus but he couldn't find anything and took out my stitches he said to get Doxy also and if it hurts more to start taking that. fingers crossed. thank you for being there amongst all the stuff happening in your life Missy.

Dear sweet Kate the great, glad the surgeon visit went as well as could be expected and that he didn't find an infection. Hoping it heals quickly and without consequences and remains infection free. Glad he gave you something just in case. It's good to be prepared (and I wasn't even a boy scout haha). Sending you bucketloads of healing dust and big (((hugs))). Hope you feel well and have a wonderful Friday.

Hello Marcy. Yum to yellow cake donut and chocolate frosting. You are making me hungry at 5:45 AM haha. We actually did go riding yesterday as the sun came out and rain chance went down so we left after cleaning the house and did a shorter ride of 40 miles so not bad. I was satisfied. Then we had a very early dinner (haha more like lunch) and Greg left to go to the meeting. He didn't get back til after 10 PM but it wasn't too bad being alone for the rest of the day though I missed him. LOL I know anyone reading this (with the exception of the NIRDIs) are probably rolling their eyes but it's true. I miss him when he isn't here.

As for RW gate I don't think any of the kitties are RW free as Oliver still has black stuff coming up and off his face. Greg feels it is just part of the healing process but we aren't veterinarians so we are just guessing and I am not getting much helpful info from the local vet. My feeling is she doesn't have experience with RW. We are stuck here for the duration though and making the best of it.

My concerns are 1. Is Fred going to get better from this? He is super listless and lifeless and it scares me and he has RW lesions all over though yes hair is regrowing in most (not all) areas.

2. Is Fred being infected going to keep the others infected? RW is super contagious. But we cannot isolate Fred for his emotional well being so I am worried we are in a vicious cycle of infection and re infection. But my sister (who also IMO doesn't have a lot of RW experience based on her observations to this point) says because they are being treated it should be minimal risk. But what I hear is yes there is still a risk the others will be kept RW sick if Fred isn't getting rid of RW because he is out and about with the others. We need them all to get well to remain well. Fred, Bobby and Tommy and Oliver all have to be RW free and stay that way or else we will never get out of this vicious loop. I am losing count are we on week 7 or 8?

And 3. Is Oliver going to infect us with RW since we are now allowing him free run of the bedroom all night long and he sleeps with us in the bed again and is running all over us. The reason we are doing this is because he was getting depressed being in the playpen all day and night minus the 2 hours we were letting him out early AM.
So now he is out with us all night long but if he is contagious we are sure to get RW. Greg feels it is a minimal risk and I sure hope that means 0 risk because this situation can get worse if we get it all over our bodies. Especially me and I know you get it. Anyway that's the story Rory.

To answer your other question as of now Greg is RW free (he got rid of his original RW lesion when the cats were first diagnosed within a few weeks of getting it by applying the topical med) and I am RW free. I am not sure I even really had RW originally as it went away within a few days and I don't think RW goes away that fast so I think it was a coincidental body lesion. But who knows. The dermatologist wasn't sure either. And as you know he just prescribed an oral anti fungal for me because he is concerned with my medical history and the cats all still having RW and me being around them for such a great amount of time to this point and beyond puts me at a greater risk of contracting a more serious RW case.

In any case I want us to remain RW free otherwise we can give it back to the cats. It is that contagious. And all the cats want to do is rub up against us. LOL it's as if they know and want to get back at us.:eek2:  ::)

I didn’t think they were very cute but I did buy one each and donate them; the proceeds go to St. Jude’s and they donate the toys to local first responders to have for children.

I am glad your knee is feeling better Marcy and I hope that continues. Good for you getting your work done by noon yesterday. You always accomplish a lot and do it early too. Sweet. Aww sorry that Tanzanite band wasn't in stock but haha yes good for your pocketbook I guess. Nice you donated to St Jude's and first responders. Our charitable donations are sadly going to be going down this year because we spent all that and more on the cats health care so far...we give generously each year to a few animal charities and a few other charities but this year we are not going to be able to give as much. Especially if RW gate continues for many more months. sad :(( We will give what we can but we are spending serious money on the veterinarians and treatments. I just want the cats to get well. If only money could make it so....

@canuk-gal hello there, have a wonderful weekend sweet Sharon. Hope cycling is in there somewhere. I have no clue what our weekend weather is going to be but I sure hope we are going to be cycling. Haha no surprise there. Hope your mom and sister are well and that all is going smoothly for you and that life is sweet right now. Hugs.

@Mamabean I am thinking of you and hoping your son is doing better and that you are taking care of yourself. Remember if you dont take care of yourself you cannot take care of anyone else. Sending you big but gentle hugs and lots of love and healing dust for your family. XOXO

@AV_ how are you feeling today? Hope your pain level is a zero. Sending you hugs and healing vibes.

@Slick1 yay it's Friday. You made it through another week. And girrrrl I LOVE your new ring. Haha what a sneaky purchase and if I didn't see it in that other thread I would not have even known. It looks amazing on your hand. LOVE.:kiss2:

@Scandinavian honey, thinking about you and your mom and sending love and healing vibes. Hope you are taking care of yourself too.

So as I wrote above to Marcy we did cycle yesterday because the weather forecast improved and Greg didn't have to leave til mid afternoon so we did a shorter 40 mile ride yesterday. No ice cream because ice cream doesn't open til Noon so we were out of luck there. But it was a nice ride and glad we got to enjoy one yesterday. Today is windy but we are heading out after we clean the house. Are you seeing a pattern to our days?

A quick beach shot as we were riding

And sweet Tommy when we got back home

Screen Shot 2019-09-13 at 5.44.08 AM.png

He loves boxes.

And my sweet DH as he was heading out yesterday afternoon. LOL OK I know I am photo crazy but remember I am going a bit stir crazy in the house with 4 RW filled kitties what can I say? I am amusing myself anyway I can.

greggettingreadytoleave.png

OK off to clean soon. Have a wonderful and lucky Fri the 13th lovely ladies. (((Hugs))).

Good morning NIRDIs the GREAT!

It appears that half my post last evening is gone! ugh.

@Austina When am I scheduled to visit???? I love YOUR home which I will be happy to be enscounced in for a week or fortnight! it's beautiful, your taste is perfect, you have great abilities to create a warm, comfortable, luxurious room.. So glad that Dottie is feeling better, makes one's day happier when our furkids are feelilng chipper I know. xoxo

@AV_ glad you are feeling a better AV! xoxo

@junebug17 Hi Junie, I hope you start to feel better today, do you have any plans this weekend? My jaw feels better today I'm hoping it stays that way. Sending you love June.

@marcy We haven't turned the furnace on yet, but it's coming! glad glad your knee is feeling better. so nice you donate for St Jude's, everytime we drive by St Jude's I think of all the good and great things this hospital does. Christmas is coming.. sending love and continued healing dust for the knee! xoxo

@missy Good morning Marvelous Missy and the wonderful Greg.. I understand why you miss Greg, because you have a happy marriage, not many are so lucky as you and Greg are to have found each other. I miss John when he heads out somewhere but I also love to be able to do the things I like to do - like eat stuff I LOVE that he hates :) You and Greg are going thru a huge tramatic experience, you will both probably have some sort of PTSD after this, I know you both are very intelligent humans so you will get it and move through it, but it's been very stressful for you both, and I think Greg is right about Ollie sleeping with you guys, minimal risk. As to the other furbabies I wish I had the answers, do you know of a vet who's a derm? we used to take Daisy Dog to a derm in Round Rock TX for allergy shots etc.. she was great and TRES EXPENSIVE but of course worth it. Jaw feels good today but I got up at 3:00 a.m and took an IBUPROFEN because my shoulder was really hurting so who knows.. Missy, you are doing your all out best in this RWGate and it - to me - shows that slowly things are improving, maybe I'm wrong, Fred I worry most about but Fred loves you guys and as the others get better I think Fred will perk up.. Hoping anyway.. Glad you got a ride in 40 miles, so effing impressive, I know you go more most times but given your stress level it's always amazing to me how riding is like meditation to you, it's GOOD for you.. working on the house stuff going out to dinner tonite to the local pub brewery because I don't feel like cooking. Got an 8:00 am appt this coming Monday with my surgeon for a look see again.. hoping today is bright, sun shiny and happy for you Magnificent Missy!!! sending you love as always, hugs hugs to Greg and love to your furkids.. xoxoxo

@Calliecake Thinking of you Callie, sending a huge hug across the USA and of course love and hope that things are great and you have had the zapperroo done. xoxoxo

@Mamabean no need to reply, just sending some calming dust for you and remember YOU! xoxoxo

@Scandinavian sending hi's and hopes all is well in your neck of the world Scandi, hugs to you.

@Slick1 wedding getting closer every day! in 2 weeks my niece get's married in VA and we see our sons and Autie and all the aunts/uncles and cousins! should be great fun! xoxo

Everyone have a wonderful weekend.. sending NIRDI love to you guys!

Oh I am so sorry @Mamabean. You poor dear. I hope Chris improves and has a major revelation and turns things around. Sending you big hugs and gentle comfort and bucketloads of good vibes. Please take care of yourself dear Joanne. {{{Hugs}}}.

Oh @Mamabean , I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Alcohol is so powerful and deceptively addictive. The healthier you are, the more you can help him. I will keep you all in my prayers.

@missy, You and Greg have made it this far with the RW fiasco. Hopefully you are reaching the tail end of this and your life can go back to normal very soon. I’m so glad you have been able to get a break and enjoy your time with Greg doing what you love most. Despite all of this, look at the number of miles you cycled this summer. That is one impressive accomplishment. The pictures of Oliver are adorable. I would kind of expect him to act out with all that has been going on. He is a teenager after all. It’s been stressful on all of them.

@Mamabean , I am so sorry you are going thru this with your son. Have you considered attending Al Anon meetings? I’ve been down this road with a sibling and know it can take a toll on everyone around the person with the addiction. From what you have shared here, you are the go to person in your family who everyone can rely on and are the person who fixes things. Joanne, please know this is something you can’t fix. Chris is the only one who can fix this. It was very hard for me to come to grips with this aspect. I can only imagine how hard this would be for a parent. Please lean on people when you need support. This is one of those times in life where you have to make yourself a priority too, especially with it now affecting your health. None of us are superwoman, no matter how much we would like to be. You Joanne, are an exception. You really do come pretty damn close to superwoman status. Your bucket is full on any given day being a caretaker to your mom and David. Dealing with your son’s addiction is a huge life stressor all by itself if nothing else were happening in your life. Please, please take care of yourself too.

@junebug17 , I hope you are taking it easy and your cold is starting to get better. Summer colds always seem to drag in forever. It was a good idea to take take the zinc and vitamin C. Do you think you caught it on the airplane? Do you have any fun plans for the weekend.

@Tekate, I was so glad to hear your appointment went well with the oral surgeon. Hopefully it will start to feel a little better every day now. The pictures you posted of the patio look beautiful and very comfy. You must be getting so excited about your trip to Austin and all the time you will be spending with Autie. She truly is a little ball of sunshine. That little smile of hers could lighten up a room. Mike will be thrilled knowing you will be taking care of her.

@Austina, The room looks beautiful. You did a fantastic job! It’s great news that Dottie’s paw is feeling better. I loved reading your story about your fur babies. It’s amazing how they know how to work us.

@marcy, I’m hoping all is going well with Marty’s new business. I can relate to your post about enjoying the clean house. DH used to joke that he knew the only thing I loved about him traveling was the house would stay perfect looking while he was gone.

@Scandinavian , Sending good thought your way and hope your mom is handling her treatments well. I hope you are doing well.

@Slick1 , You must be getting so excited about the wedding. I hope you are having fun teaching your new classroom full of kids.

It’s good to see you here @bling_dream19 .

Thank you for the well wishes on the kidney stone procedure. It was a breeze. I feel ridiculous for having worried about it now that it’s over.

Hello lovelies

Phew, what a relief there’s no infection @Tekate, I’ve been keeping everything crossed that your appt would go well. You know you’re welcome anytime, and I really hope if everything goes to plan, that you’ll be a frequent visitor.

 So glad the surgery went well @Calliecake, everyone is apprehensive about any kind of surgery, you’re dealing with the unknown. Onwards and upwards from now on.

Hopefully as you’re back to work, you’re feeling much better @AV_

Phooey to the band not being in your size @marcy, but Christmas is coming, so plenty of time for them to get it in  Good idea to get ahead of the game with the appraisals, as you say, it’s highly unlikely MM or NN will have an epiphany between now and the end of he year and suddenly become model employees.

Hi @canuk-gal - how’re things with you?

Aww @missy, even though your life is very stressful, I’m so happy to hear that you’re still getting out cycling and enjoying ice cream when you can. I know that spending time together outdoors is getting you through this ordeal and enabling you to recharge your batteries. I think it’s lovely that you miss Greg when he’s not there, it’s not easy keeping long term happy partnerships going.

Hoping your Mum is doing well and coping with her treatment @Scandanavian, and that you too are doing well,

Hi @bling_dream19 any plan for the weekend?

Had a much needed cut and colour today, my hair is growing faster than grass at the moment :eek2:

Thank you all for the lovely comments, I’m really pleased with the way things have come together. I wouldn’t normally incorporate so many different patterns in to a room, but I think it’s turned out OK. As usual, Colin is pleased with “our” choices :roll2::lol:

TGIF and the weekend is almost here. We’re going to have a lazy one after a hectic week :wavey:
