Hi all, I’m new to Pricescope and thank the ladies for keeping me straight.

Need opinions, I recently bought an AV Elyque, 1.51, it is gorgeous and it will be placed in Rose Gold, Halo setting, size 6.

I would like to know if A. Or B. Looks better?

A. Halo has 2mm diamonds and 1.8mm on shank.
B. Halo has 1.8mm diamonds on halo and shank. Sorry it’s blurry.

OR if there is a another setting you can think of, please attach pic.

Thank you

I won't be much help because I like both! I also think that the rose gold will help the oval not get lost in the halo which is what happened with mine when it was set in platinum. There are many lovely halo settings out there. Are you not 100% sold on the settings above? I'm assuming those are CADs from Jonathan.

Thank you. I love the halo/setting, was just trying to see if others like one over the other. I really like the 2mm halo and 18mm shank, but wanted feedback, if anyone thought the 2mm halo was too big for diamond.
I too think that the Rose Gold adds a different look to the ring.
Yes, these CADs are from Jonathan, i liked his halo for the bigger diamonds, 2mm on halo.
I also hope the halo is the best setting for the Elyque, I didn’t think a solitaire setting would do it justice.

LOVE the addition of the rose gold... so unexpected and special!
As for size, wow, that’s a tough one! Clearly you can’t go wrong. How bold do you want to go? The larger stones for the halo definitely makes it look custom. It’s also a bit more bold so if you want to be more understated you may want the smaller halo and keep it all consistent.
Either way it’s going to be a fabulous ring and I’m really excited for you.

I also like the 2mm diamonds on the halo, which makes the ring look more vintage to me. The slimmer 1.8mm halo looks sleek and modern. I think the 2mm diamonds will look chunkier, getting closer to the look of a cluster ring. This is my opinion only... they are both really beautiful.

Thank you both for responding and providing me your opinion.
Yes I like to be bold and unique, so the 2mm around the halo, and all rose gold, looks like the answer. I was hesitant in the beginning due to all the pics I see on here with all the gorgeous rings and hoped mine was the right pick. I also was trying for 2cts but the Elyque’s are expensive.
BTW-headlight, your ring is beautiful too!

I think you'll be happy with the finished halo sizewise. It's going to look huge!!

Great comments already in this thread :)

Ultimately you have to go with what appeals to you, 'fashion' and others' taste be damned :))

Either looks great so you can't lose!

I personally would go with the smaller halo stones but it really all depends on the look you are going for (like others said). If you want a larger look
then go with the bigger halo. If you want something a little more delicate then go with the smaller halo stones.
Both look good and neither is wrong. AVC ovals are so lovely...I would want it to be the star of the show...but like I said. Cant go wrong with either!

I think you are talking to me.
My rings are new. Pricescope peeps helped me find my stone in May. It is a 3.4 carat. I love it so much. Thank you so much for taking the time to say nice things!! Very sweet!!

Hi, thank you for your feedback.
I have seen so many of your responses and advice to newbie’s like me, so I’d like to ask you a Question, if you had always dreamed on a beautiful big diamond one day and your husband said ok it’s time, you can have $15k, what do our want? I’m like deer in the headlights, I’ve been reading and looking at different sites and have been back and forth between rounds and ovals, and of course I found the AV Ovals and purchased a 1.5, but I’m nervous, did I make the right choice? Reason is, the AV Oval has a smaller table than the normal ovals, but the sparkle much better, and no bow tie. I keep looking back at Rounds Hearts and Arrows.
You mentioned in your response back to me that you’d want your stone to be star of the show. I had an opportunity to get a larger diamond and a simpler setting, or smaller stone and bigger setting, I went with option 2 cause there were only 1-2 stones from 1.53 to 2 CT’s. The 2 CT’s seemed a bit out of range. Would you have waited? I’d really like your opinion.

I just hope I wasn’t talked into something I might regret....

It really is just about what you like most. I was torn between a cushion and a round. I looked at a lot of pictures and tried in many rings and finally decided on a round. Which setting did you choose? When does your ring arrive?

I chose this one, I can’t wait to see it. It supposed to be done in 15 days, so maybe next weekend? I just don’t want the halo look like it’s eating the center. I was hoping the halo helped to make center bigger.

Hi, buying a stone that was smaller than I wanted because it was in stock. But then again, the Elyque is soooo sparkly, can’t wait to see in person. Hope it’s perfect!
