I love pastel blues, and when an asscher is well cut, it's like a hall of mirrors. I would love to see it paired with pale pink stones as traps on the sides or melee in a halo. Enjoy!

I’m an awful photographer, but here’s what I took with my phone. I was concerned it would be too small to stand up to my eternity band, but it looks just perfect to me . It’s very hard to capture the light performance of this little stone, but it is super SPARKLY!!! Jeff white couldn’t ne nicer or more prompt with his services - it even came with a little thank you card.
Yay!! Love it in your pics! What a beautiful stone!! And indeed a perfect size with your eternity band.

Gorgeous! Looks like Jeff's photo is spot-on with yours. Congrats on a beautiful stone!

Thanks everyone! It really is a sparkly little stone - I have just reached out to a friend from high school who is a jewelry maker. I was thinking we could do this project together, if she's up for it. Nothing further can be purchased until the sale of my home is complete, but I'm looking forward to a project once that is finished.

Question: If I'm looking for sidetones, who would you recommend to source diamonds? Jeff says he doesn't do those. Any recommendations?

Also, what shape would you most like to see next to my pretty asscher? I tend to like a brilliant cut, which is why I was thinking trillions or those crescent traps, but money is certainly a factor here, so if you know more than I do, please weigh in!

I've been looking at some semi-mount settings, and I think something like Stuller might be the most cost effective way to go. I'm meeting my jeweler friend tomorrow, and I was thinking about these three settings...any will take the asscher cut and dimensions of my stone. Surprisingly, I'm sort of leaning toward the pears, which wasn't my first (or second or third) thought regarding this ring. Any opinions or ideas on this? Should I start a new thread so more people will chime in? Thanks everyone! Stuller-1.jpeg Stuller-2.jpeg Stuller-3.jpeg

Yes start a new thread in rocky talk so more people see it and can weigh in with their thoughts. I have trouble visualizing the settings and need to see real life examples. I love pear sides generally but not sure how it would work with the shape of the asscher. Would it be too much competition? The asscher has straight sharper edges and the pear curvy softer ones. Let me see if I can find real life pics of a similar combo.

It’s all about personal preference. It will certainly look gorgeous with tapered baguetes like in Mochiko’s ring because of the step cuts.
The pears are really nice in the example @missy found as the bezels tie it all together. Personally I prefer the fluid look you get when you combine it with step cut sides

Yes it does come down to personal preferences and no right or wrong. I too prefer the fluid look when combined with step cut sides.

Thank you @missy and @Acinom! Yes, I agree that the step cut center looks good with step cut sides. Ideally, if I did step cut sides, I'd prefer traps to tapered baguettes, but I didn't see that on the stiller website. (really ideally, I'd like traps on each side of the stone and then tapered baguettes on each side of the traps).

The reason I would like brilliant cut sidetones is that my eternity band is made with round brilliants. I thought the brilliant cut side stones would possibly tie it all together. Perhaps I'm overthinking all of this.

New England Lady's ring was the one I was thinking of when I mentioned I was leaning toward the pear side-stones! Funny you found that @missy - I saw the stuller setting and thought, "I think I've seen that somewhere before."

I'm in such early stages of this, it won't be done for a while, but it's really fun to play around with different ideas - thanks for chiming in to help me! I'll start a thread in RT.

As I have myself an asscher cut zircon, which I still haven’t set, I’m also still looking for ideas.
Your ideas from Stuller are beautiful, and the first one is just perfect I think.

I was considered this setting for my stone originally:

@violet3 I really admire your beautiful asscher cut! Looking forward to see how you set this.

I’m on the lookout for a similar stone. Was wondering if anyone could give advice as far as approximate price range for a ~7mm? Thanks!

Hi @scouty :wavey: - this stone is 6.8 mm and I cannot remember the exact price, but I think it was just under $400.

He was extremely nice to work with! I think mine had some kind of discount for buying it early off a social media post. I can’t remdner what the original price was. His team is super nice, professional, and efficient. I highly recommend!!! @scouty

I cannot even believe I'm saying this, but I'm thinking of selling this little stone - I haven't done anything with it, and there are a few other projects I had in mind. It's still in its box, untouched....which makes me sad. Do you all think this would something I could resell? Typically, what is the reduction in price for a resale?

There's plenty of zircon fans on this board (myself included) and Jeff White stones are beautiful. You could post in "Preloved" to see if any PSers are interested. If it were me I'd list it for near what you paid for it. Being "never set" is good!

Check out this thread, someone just sold a very similar stone here:

Thank you both! good insight here - I'm so torn about this. I don't want to do it, but I hate that it's just sitting there, and I already have an eternity band that I have to baby. Not entirely sure I want something I have to be really gentle with...plus the project I had planned for it is turning out to be way more expensive than I thought it would be.

Hi Scouty! I see that you did get a stone like mine from Jeff White, and then sold it - any reason why in particular? I am considering selling mine now also.

I recently got engaged so I’ve been wanting my ER to take full center stage lately! I feel bad having a beautiful stone with excellent cutting lying around because I’m not sure how long till I would set it. Good luck with your sale! Jeff’s cutting is amazing so I’m sure you will get a lot of interest. =)2

Alternatively, I thought of this Ivy&Rose setting when I saw your stone. It will fit a 6.8mm asscher and is only $329. (I would like this setting myself one day, so thought I'd share it.) Much cheaper than custom, and you can keep and enjoy your zircon. Plus the setting looks like it would protect the stone. BTW I wear zircon all the time and don't really baby them. They aren't that delicate!
