Screenshot_20190422-165408.png Screenshot_20190422-165331.png Screenshot_20190422-165400.png . These are the 2 stones i ordered from starsgem. 8x10 DE cushion was set in a custom ring made by David Klass, he did amazing work and I only waited a few weeks.

The other stone is a 7x9.5 DE radiant cut. Both do look really nice. But I don't have a need for the radiant cut now.

Where is a good place/forum to sell moissanite stones? I'm pretty new to these online forums.

Another question is does anyone have any inclusions or things they can see inside their stones when they look very very close? Or are most of these moissanites flawless?

Thanks

What type of cut is your cushion? It looks hybrid- almost crushed ice? I love it!!

I received my new lowered setting and it is so much more wearable now. Was admiring the sparkle at the hair salon. My poor jeweler was again tasked with making another eternity band larger as it was my original from my wedding set many years ago. Can’t even tell anything was done to it.

I decided to also match the black rhodium plating and they look like they were made to go together.

This looks AMAZING!!!   I LOVE the black rhodium plating!

Thank you...we will see how long it lasts but it is a great way to change up a ring. I haven’t worn the band for years but now it feels like a new ring again!

I got a picture and video of my stone today. I’m kinda irritated because she sent them about 2 hours ago and I just now checked. I asked to see a picture of it on a white piece of paper but she told me it was already sent back into the factory to be set in my ring. I don’t know if it was a lack of communication on my part to convey I wanted to okay the stone before it was set or what but I’m hoping it comes out nicely. It looks good in the video she sent. It’s a 9.5x7.5mm cushion in GH color and I just wanted to make sure it’s not too yellow.

So this is Hearts and arrows? I’m obsessed! What do you think IRL?

After almost a year...I finally got these little baby ACC’s set by my jeweler. They were intended for my daughter but she let her earring holes close up so they have been sitting around. They are as cute as a button. I am surprised that I see no double refraction in these ACC’s. I was expecting in dim light to see some but they look the same as my diamond ones.

I have kind of small earlobes so these are .50 carat each cushion’s next to .50 carat each diamond studs. I think I might have to order another pair in .75 carat each just so I can see the cushion faceting a bit better. That is my only complaint about the size. When they are in my ear’s, they look like rounds and I would prefer to see that they are square. I ordered the stones and the earring backing’s separately but I think the total was something like $170 for G/H. I originally thought the 14K white gold was flimsy but now that they are set, they feel as good as my diamonds ones. They are not screw backs but they have two grooves on the backing that seem to make them pretty secure.

Wow love it!!:love::love: I also have small earlobes so maybe I’ll go with .75 when I do plan as I would like to see the faceting better as well!

One day I plan to buy ACC bezel earrings in yellow gold ;)2

It’s a lovely day out so I decided to do a quick photo shoot :kiss2:
I finally think I got a few pics that are better than StarGems. ;)2

Speaking of which, has anyone with recent orders noticed any improvement in their photos? Just curious- my ring is just so much prettier than the photos they provided.

I noticed that the photo’s for the pear halo were a bit better. They said they would do 15 second videos and that one was 13 seconds. At least it is an improvement. Will see how the next few look...your pictures look great though

Did someone here order this asscher bezel? If so, it’s gorgeous! :kiss2:

I’m surprised how nice Starsgem’s bezels are turning out these days; they’re less “bulky” looking, imo. =)2

Color me confused!
I just caught on to the fact that there are at least 3 sellers on ebay with the name Starsgem in their store names. Are they all the same company? Is there just one we here are working with?

I think the different rep’s had their own ebay store and Cherry was starsgem8. At some point they just opened one called Starsgem Moissanite probably because people were getting confused.

Cherry was the one CS rep, right?

Thank you, @swaye2010 . I've sent a message to Starsgem Moissanite. That one did seem to have the best selection, so maybe it's now their main store.

She manages all the customer service rep’s now but if you email her, I am sure she will respond. I heard that Grace is leaving at the end of the month and there seems to be a new person named Lucy there now. I do believe the Starsgem Moissanite is their main account now and the other ones are still there but they are probably not as updated now.

Here's a warning to anyone who is interested in making anything with matte finish:

I had a ring made with Grace. It's 18k yellow gold with a cushion rose cut stone set in a bezel. When I received it, I immediately noticed that the bezel was wonky, so I asked Grace if she could do anything about it. She was very unwilling, so I let it go.

And then a day or two later, I noticed that the bottom side of my stone was strange. It looked like a layer of dust had settled on it. I thought it was dirty, so I proceeded to clean it. It refused to be cleaned. I cleaned with alcohol. Nothing. The dusty speck-looking things stayed in place.

And then I found out that the matte finish was made using a sandblasting process. And then it dawned on me - they blasted the ring after the bezel had been set, so the moissy was blasted right along with it!:(sad

So lesson learned: don't get anything from Starsgem with matte finish! Or at least anything with a stone set in it.

As for my case, I contacted Grace and showed her photos/videos to plead my case of at least polishing the stone. I knew this would require the bezel to be redone, but I had already complained about this point. She's been telling me that I would have to pay extra, because of the gold lost when making a new ring, that they can't polish the stone and could only make a new one, and that they don't have the rough (IJ) that they used to custom cut my ring, et cetera. Now she's not even replying to my messages.

Now I'm not sure what I should do. I know Grace is leaving, so who can I contact to take my complaint further? Paypal disputes won't give me the full amount, so that's not the best option either...

This is tough. If you had posted, I would have said don’t do this with the Chinese vendors. They manufacture bulk moissanite but they are not really jewelers in the traditional sense. It is difficult with a bezel too because it will get destroyed trying to get the stone out. I think the best thing to do is to try to contact Cherry at [email protected] and explain what happened and show pictures. You will probably need to send the whole ring back and have it redone. I would not get the sandblasted finish. If you don’t want a traditionally finished ring, I suggest to get just a loose moissanite and have the ring made more local to where you are. I can recommend jewelers that can do this for you.

See where you get with Cherry. If you doesn’t respond in then next day or two, let me know and I will try to explain the situation to her. Can you post some pics as well?

Thank you. I'll email Cherry and let her know. I'll definitely skip on the sandblasting this time if I manage to get Cherry to agree to get the ring redone.

It's pretty difficult to get good quality photos - cameras just don't seem to pick up on the finer details. I've even pulled out an old DSLR to do this. Hopefully I can take better photos in the coming days. This is what I have so far.

Gosh, I'm SO sorry that happened to you and I'm hoping you'll be able to get the ring re-done. I do appreciate your posting, as it helps to know what Chinese vendors aren't able to do.

Here are pictures of the necklace I ordered from Starsgem:

https://imgur.com/1TuYMDL

https://imgur.com/ZRS3vSS

It's a 7.5mm H&A DEF on a 14K WG chain that is 16 inches in length. There's supposed to be a separate two inch extender, but I'm not quite sure I got that, although I was as clear as I could be with pictures.

Cost was $280 plus $20 for that separate extender. In platinum it would have been $480, so I went with 14K WG.

Wish me luck. Lucy said she'd send me more detailed pictures on Monday, because I can't really tell if I have a separate extender piece, or a "tail" on that 16 inch chain :).

I see a lot of rings, but not too many earrings or necklaces, so I thought I'd share.

Forgive me if this has been addresses before:

I'm still looking to put a stone in my original e ring setting. It's a yg Solitaire.
The 80s girl I was when I got engaged still wants a marquise.
Has anyone found a nice moissanite marquise?
Stargems's one carat is more than reasonably priced, assuming I like it. And that's where I hesitate. If I don't find a place that does a good marquise, then I'll get an oval or elongated cushion. So not 1987!

Starsgem cut me an incredible moval. I absolutely love it! It's a few pages back and not set yet, but I'm in awe whenever I look at it

@lovedogs
I remember your moval now!
Going back to look at it again. Do my mind if I send them a copy of your picture to show what I'm talking about?

That movalis gorgeous! as is your elongated cushion. (Is it antique? modern? crushed?)
Do you know off hand the size or carat weights of the stones?

I know someone got a really large marquise cut a few pages back as well as a large pear. I am pretty sure it was colorless and looks so much better than their earlier versions. I haven’t seen one from Tianyu but there have been a couple from SG. I am just not sure how many pages back it goes but I think it was in April or early May.

The antique elongated cushion is 8*9, and the moval is 7*14. I'm nervous the moval will be too big for the setting I planned, so I probably should have gone a bit smaller. But both cuts are perfection.

@lovedogs Thank you for that information. They are bigger than I will go, but the proportions are just what I want. Now to decide on which one!

Jumping into this thread because I’ve also been looking into getting a marquise cut moissanite through starsgem. Is Cherry a good rep to speak with?

Also, super new here, but swaye2010, I saw your asscher aquamarine on another thread recently and it’s so gorgeous and for an amazing price! If you wouldn’t mind sharing, I’d love to know who/where I could get gems like that from!
