Ohhhh, the vase one is so gorgeous!! I'm really enjoying your journey because it is similar to mine (I'm awaiting my Maria from CvB, hopefully done next week or the the week after). I love all the details you're considering! Mine will be more or less the basic Maria, but with platinum head and YG tri-wire shank. After seeing your thought process part of me is wondering if I didn't squander the opportunity to explore all the fun detail possibilities that Caysie is so well known for! Can't wait to see yours!!!

I have only ever looked at my diamond with my eyes! lol And my camera, I guess. I don't think it would look particularly great using that kind of technology. My diamond is beautiful because of contrast patterning and some other features that I don't think show up all that well on tools designed to assess light return through the crown :read:

But we will never know bc I don't own any scopes!
I bet you’d be surprised - I think it’d be a cracking performer!

I can't wait to see yours! But listen, your diamonds are gigantic and your finger is tiny, so at the end of the day, it's all about the diamonds anyway. I think the design you have chosen will be spectacular and you wont worry at all about "what ifs". I think the choices you made sound divine!! DIVINE! Platinum head with a YG tri-wire shank?? Perfection. I really hope you do a thread on your ring! I cannot wait to see it.

In my case, my diamonds are smaller and I have a very large finger size so you will really see the shoulder of the ring when its worn, even around my three diamonds! And because I am doing an engraved and antiqued band, I wanted more shank realestate to show it off, KWIM?

I KWYM! I originally wanted a shoulder cuff detail (with milgrain or diamond pave) but Caysie said it wouldn't be visible and I might even be able to feel the cuffs between my fingers, so we scrapped that idea. Have you considered cuffs for your shoulders?

Funny that you say my finger is tiny. It WAS 3.5 - 3.75 not that long ago but is now 4.5, and in fact, Caysie suggested I go up to 5 with sizing pads (for finger-swelling hot days). My, how things have changed in just a few years! But thank you for helping me feel confident about my choices -- I'm sure you're right!! (There's nothing like a jewelry project to make you constantly second-guess yourself!)

Bigger fingers means more room for diiiaaamonds!

I am planning to engrave my shank so it will just be smooth metal, no cuffs or pave.

DING DING DING!

Kits shape and this ring is my final inspiration for the engraving and shank proportion, which I found this weekend at long last.

I can't wait for YOUR 3-stone!! :P2 When will it be done????

@KristyDarling I'd thought I'd update here to keep my progress all in one place =)2

So for my ring, I think I will be approving the design this week?? Just waiting on the (hopefully!!) final round of renders! We made some dramatic choices for the shank/shoulder shape that I am really excited about and we did something a little different for the donuts... octagons! It's hard to imagine the finished piece bc we've been going back and forth with CADs with this latest round of revisions. And even the renders won't have the engraving and antiquing. So I am going on blind faith! I am staying open to possibilities and not getting too wrapped up in my own expectations or the minute details. I hired a designer for a reason, and I am choosing to trust that the end product will be beautiful. At least that's what I tell myself when I feel anxious!

Hey Dreamer - So exciting!! I do hear you on the anxiety. But have faith! The CAD process is an excellent way to communicate with each other, and Caysie is a good listener and thoughtful artist. Based on the pics I've seen thus far of my ring, it looks like she got everything right with mine. (will find out for sure tomorrow morning!) Your ring is going to be amazing. I mean, dramatic shoulder shape (kites, is it??) and octagonal donuts??! With engraving AND antiquing -- it already sounds like a dream(er)!! :kiss2:

Yes! It is finished! It looks beautiful!

Unfortunately, I won't have it in my hands for a few more days, maybe even a week :cry2:. The ring was actually ready last weekend but Caysie's email went to my spam and I only found it today!! So now we have to figure out shipping around the holiday weekend and my work schedule next week. So typical of the universe to mess with me like this! I was on vacation this week and could have collected the ring any time! But now I have to work around my teaching/work schedule! waaaahhhhh :cry2::cry2::cry2:

Oh wow that is just so beautiful - love the stone proportions proportions, love the richness of the yellow gold engraved shank it’s yummy and all that amazing detailing on the donuts - wow! How frustrating that you didn’t get Caysie’s email hope you manage to get it soon!

Wow.

And THIS is the benefit of choosing a designer like Caysie.

I originally wondered if the straight-sided doughnuts and smooth curvy shank worked together... we talked about that... the blackening and engraving highlights the angular architecture already present, and creates geometry where it didn’t exist before, and the end result is edgy and untamed and just a little forbidding - seems like just what you wanted originally!

Wow! this is by far my favorite 3 stone ring. Lovely in everyway. Especially love the fluidity across the 3 stones, and for me changing my mind about her designs being "floral".

OMG the DETAILS!!!!! It is glorious!!! And the diamond proportions are absolutely perfect (your ring and @mrs-b's ring are really making me second-guess my choice of side stone size!). What an utterly unique and artful treasure! Very jelly over here!!!

I hope the next several days pass by very quickly for you so you can have this beauty on your hand ASAP!!!!

Legendary. I think you thought of every detail and CVB executed it perfectly. And George, stunning from very angle you can see the stone so much more in this setting and he lives up to his reputation! I love your diamond’s Faceting, shape, proportions, color. All truly special.

I adore the black enameling (?) detail, and octagonal decorative donuts, I adore the miligraining details. I love that the milligram circles the interior of the shank. I love the two color metals and I love the engraving pattern. And those diamonds. (I need to go back and review all three stones, they are perfect together).

Congratulations on a beautiful conclusion. Can’t wait for your SMTB!

Someone please get this ring into the Pricescope Legendary Rings thread stat!

Can't wait to hear more of the details. Such a special ring, it almost feels wrong to dissect it; but love the swoopiness and how you can see more of George and how good is yellow gold engraved and antiqued. I'm thinking the three stone is going to be a lovely presence on your hand. It is other-worldly. Kate Bush, red flowy dress, moors, Wuthering Heights-ish.
